Stayed here December 2017. Ailsa welcomed us. House had everything we needed and more. Lots of room, warm and very comfortable. Loads of information on the area. We visited Fort William, Glencoe, Loch Lomond, loch Fyne Oyster bar, Edinburgh and enjoyed a great Hogmanay ceilidh in the town. Absolutely loved our holiday and the owners of the property were so very helpful and made us so welcome. We will definitely go back . Great.
The owner Ailsa took great care of us. Everything we needed was there. We even had fresh flowers, cookies and shortbread on the kitchen table, waiting for us. We found the house to be very clean and warmly decorated. Our time here felt like holidays within our holidays.
To those, who want to explore the Trossachs, this is a great homebase. Callander itself is a lovely town with small stores and two supermarkets that have everything you need.
We stayed for a week over Easter with 2 adults and 3 children (14,12,10). We were greeted on arrival by the warm and friendly owners. After a brief introduction to the house we were left to explore further. Ailsa & Tom had thought of everything, fresh flowers, a welcome pint of milk to accompany the well stocked tea/coffee & not forgetting the scrumptious shortbread. The house was immaculately clean & tidy, warm & cosy and surprisingly spacious (tardis!). Plenty of towels and clean linen and even a spare toothbrush. Large bedrooms with plenty of storage, 2 bathrooms ideal for large families. The large kitchen diner was well equipped with every piece of cookware and utensils you could possibly wish to use. The washing machine made the laundry manageable after muddy walks and the radiators were capable of drying the clothes. The dishwasher made light work of cleaning up after meals and Ailsa even provided the detergents for these too. The bird feeders attract a number of species and whilst we're not twitchers, they provided light entertainment to all the family. The neighbours were also friendly, helping us with recycling day and chatting about the village.
The house is in a fabulous location within Callandar, walking distance to centre which has all local amenities. We had an Asda delivery and used the local Co-op & Tesco to top up. We would recommend a walk up "The Craggs" for fantastic views and scenery, accessible from the house. Callandar is brilliant for exploring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. We used the local leisure centre, which had good facilities at a reasonable price.
We would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone and would definitely stay here again ourselves.
We stayed in this house for 1 week with 2 adults. The owners, Ailsa and Tom, gave us a warm welcome. They explained briefly all the must knowns of the house. We also really appreciated their welcome attentions like fresh flowers, milk, coffee, tea and especially the delicious shortbread specialty.
The house was very spacious and very well equiped including an excellent maintained garden. The owners informed us too about where to go shopping (Callander) and some opportunities to visit.
The location is ideally situated. Callandar is at a short walking distance and all regional attractions are easy to get to. We discovered the region of the Trossachs, Edinburgh, Stirling, the kingdom of Five, region of Oban.
With regret we left the house after 1 week (because we booked another week more in the north). However the possibilities to visit and explore are so extensive that another (longer) stay will be necessary.
I certainly can recommend this villa to everyone and I can ensure everybody will strongly appreciate it.
