Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)

THIS beautiful 2 bedroom. 2.5 bath home* is located on a private California ranch near the Wine Country. The ranch is over 300 acres, so privacy in this wonderful country setting is a treat unto itself. BUT there is so much more. The property is located just off Interstate 80 and California Highway 12. Both are major connectors to all the fun, beauty & excitement California has to offer. Hwy 12 is the route to the Wine Country & 20 minutes of driving will find you in Napa. A few more miles up the road are Yountville, St. Helena & Calistoga & all the great wineries, restaurants & shopping this area offers. Or maybe you're interested in seeing the Sonoma Wine Country. It too is an easy drive. Maybe you are looking for some city life. Traveling from The Guest House, San Francisco is 33 miles on I-80 or a delightful one hour ferry ride and California's state capitol, Sacramento, is 50 miles.

The living area is a large open space with living room area, dining & kitchen. The furnishings in the home are high quality & were chosen for this home. The large screen HD television in the living room has surround sound, satellite receiver with HBO, Showtime, Encore, Starz, DVD player, DVD library, iPod dock, iPod (5 & above iPhone adapter), stereo & AUX Plug setup for playing your own music, videos, pictures of the day, slide shows, etc through house system. There is a large gas jetted fireplace. A piano adds loads of fun if anyone plays. Full wet bar complete with glassware, wine openers, ice maker & wine frig.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils for cooking & dining. Granite counter tops throughout the kitchen. Gas cook-top, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, full upright freezer, & in the laundry room full size washer and dryer.

Each bedroom has a King bed and its own flat-screen television with individual satellite receiver that have HBO, Showtime, Encore, Starz.

The private bath connected to each bedroom has a tub and stall shower. All the showers are tile as are the counters. In the master bath there is a vanity & large walk-in closet.

But that's not all. Outside is the private pool, propane barbecue, extra tanks are provided, umbrella-ed dining table with 6 chairs, a double chaise lounge, 4 single chaise lounges, 4 club chairs with ottomans, conversation area with love seat, club chairs, ottomans, coffee table, ping pong, badminton, croquet, stereo speakers. PERFECT for enjoying a sunny hot day or an evening in the cooling evening air.

Greeting you upon your arrival is a delicious box of See's Assorted Chocolates a California favorite, and two bottles of Napa Valley wine, a Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon. All the treats are personal favorites of mine.

Property has security gate entrance.

*Reservations are not accepted for venue type events, i.e. birthday parties, reunions, bridal showers, weddings, etc. The home is reserved ONLY for overnight stays of occupants on contract.

About Eileen Ferrari

My sister and I own the ranch. We have had so many wonderful experiences over the years we thought others might enjoy this unusual but convenient destination. Numerous attractions and destinations are noted on the map.

Eileen Ferrari purchased this house in 1960

Why Eileen Ferrari chose The Bay Area

This vacation rental was not purchased as a vacation rental, it's a ranch. My family bought the ranch in 1960. Cattle graze on the acres, horses are raised and a sophisticated country life is enjoyed. Our location is one of the best in our area. Twelve to thirty-five miles from destinations travelers hope to see when visiting the Northern California Napa Valley and San Francisco Bay Area. My professional background is hotel management. So with my experience, knowledge and attention to detail every aspect of your stay is scrutinized, from the amenities throughout the house (cotton balls, Q-tips, bottled water, cooking spices, condiments) to the beautiful arrival gift made complete with a select bottle of Napa Valley Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, See's chocolates and other goodies.

What makes this house unique

11 miles to Napa, 25 miles to St Helena, 33 miles to San Francisco, 50 miles to Pacific Ocean, 60 miles to Sacramento...easy connections to Highways 80, 680, 12. Lake Tahoe about a 2 hour drive.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Eileen,

Thank you so much for your hospitality—we are MOST appreciative. It was great to meet you and Ruby the Wonder Dog, Official Meeter & Greeter for the Ferrari Ranch.

What a treat to be in your beautiful home! From your driveway to walking up to the front door, it was clear that you had put a lot of careful thought and consideration into how you wanted your home to function while accommodating your guests, friends and entertaining. Everything flowed and connected perfectly together and is a great reflection of you… gracious and welcoming.

We especially liked that you joined the kitchen with the living room. When “company” comes over, everyone usually winds up in the kitchen. Now everyone can feel connected to what is going on in both areas. You did a fantastic job!

In addition, the location and piece of land is perfect. The bonus is—there is no extra charge for the horses, cows and wild life. From the horses whinny and birds chirping, to the wind gently wafting through the trees… the picture was complete of what a ranch should have and look like. You did a great job in finding this gem because you are ideally located just a few miles drive from anywhere you want to go when visiting the wine country. For us it was several day trips to tour the local vineyards. These were easy drives to and from the Ferrari Ranch.

Finally, we had a great time and as we like to say in the South, “Everything was simply lovely.” There was a new beginning and happy ending to every day… from morning yoga and coffee poolside to relaxing afternoons of “Cocktails & Croquet” on the lawn.

Cheers,

J & M

Beautiful home and wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at this property and our experience was spectacular. Eileen is the owner and has supplied absolutely everything you could need for your stay.

Bedrooms were large, beds were comfortable and bathrooms were beautiful with hair dryers and flat irons too. It looked like it was recently remodeled and absolutely perfect for our stay. Plenty of drawer and closet space too.

The kitchen was well stocked, great pans, bakeware, serving bowls, utensils, you name it the kitchen had it. Dining room table was very large, much bigger than we needed but nice to spread out. The grill looked brand new and worked great.

The living area is comfortable with TV, music, games, videos and more! There is even a beautiful bar area with all the glass types for various wines!

The house had laundry facilities and detergent. Plenty of other supplies too! The pool was beautiful, but even heated it was too chilly the first few days to try it. By week's end, we enjoyed the pool and there was even pool tools and plastic ware for outside.

This was a perfect place for our two couple get away, and while it's 25-30 minutes southeast of Napa, it was very close to Costco and Safeway. The traffic was not great, but that was true all over Napa and Sonoma. WE LOVED this place.

Finally "thank you" Eileen for the beautiful welcome gifts, they were yummy. We enjoyed meeting you and are grateful you shared your lovely home with us.

If your looking for a nice place that feels like home, look further! This Country Home is perfect and you won't be disappointed!

Short drive to Napa Valley!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful home has everything you could possibly need during your stay! We were welcomed with chocolates and a nice white and red wine. We love to go for walks in the evening and Ms. Ferrari gave us directions to a lovely tree-lined avenue complete with vineyards. The home is on a ranch, but it is at the end of the lane in a very private setting. You will not be disappointed in all of the outdoor amenities available as well. It is an easy drive to the city of Napa and north through the valley. It was a wonderful stay!

Nicely laid out 2 master bedroom home

  • 5 of 5

We were in Napa celebrating my husband and our friend's 60th birthdays. It was in a great location for our needs as we went to Napa several days as well as into San Fran. The house was very well appointed with everything we needed for cooking and grilling. We had a lot of rain while we were there so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor patio as much as we would have liked. The dining table was great (seats 8-10) so we had plenty of room to stretch out to play cards in the evenings. The living room furniture was comfy. Nice to have washer and dryer to keep up with dirty laundry. The beds were comfy but the down pillows we didn't care for-too flat-but that's just a personal preference. Shared the house with another couple and was the perfect layout having 2 master suites. Would definitely stay here again. Eileen was very nice and had 2 bottles of wine, candies and chocolates on our arrival. Awesome experience

Great property

  • 5 of 5

Celebrated 25th wedding anniversary on our trip to the Napa Valley. The home and backyard provided a very comfortable and relaxing retreat after day trips to wineries, the coast and one day just watching football. Everything you need to cook, entertain and unwind. Highly recommend, would stay again in a second!
