Pretty village location, countryside views, 2 bedrooms, sleeps 3
We are travellers too! Because we understand the pressures associated with modern living we also understand the need for the perfect holiday/break away from it all. We know that your time away is important to you and so we aim to make your stay ‘just what the doctor ordered’. Whatever the season we treat our visitors equitably. Cleanliness and a warm welcome are our top priorities; to ensure that you can kick back and relax we do the hard work so you don’t have to!
Valerie purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Valerie chose Cherwell
Sweetheart Cottage is as cute and quaint as a classic country cottage can be. We have lovingly restored its original features whilst updating to contain all modern conveniences. Situated in the heart of England there is no better location to enjoy the English countryside and easy access to the Cotswolds, Oxford, Shakespeare's Stratford and historic Warwick.
What makes this Cottage unique
We love the cottage for its old and quirky features, the view over the hillside and the small stream which bubbles through the garden.

Another perfect breakaway
We have rented this cottage many times now when we feel like a relaxing breakaway. Whether we stay for 2 nights or 10, each stay is just perfect, such a cosy cottage in a lovely little village. We love it and will be back. Thank you to Valerie and Keith for sharing this little gem with us.
Lovely cottage, beautiful location
Quick, helpful responses from owner on booking. Lovely cottage with all amenities, very tasteful decor, thoughtful finishing touches and welcome basket.
Had a lovely 3nigbts in this cottage whilst attending British grand prix, everything was first class, lovely welcome hamper and toiletries, wouldn't hesitate to book again, thank you
Fantastic cottage in the center of a range of walks and little pubs.
We were spoilt from the moment we walked through the door to fresh baked bread and and a basket of goodies. We stayed for 10 days and almost became locals at the Stag with the lovely welcoming Greek landlord and his family.
I would highly recommend this lovely cottage.

Everything we could have ever wanted, a perfect little getaway and I'm sure we shall return (hopefully in better weather!)
Every detail thought of however large or small, could not have been better, well perhaps the weather
Sweetheart Cottage is situated in a row of similar cottages in a quiet lane where flowers tumble over walls in the peaceful and picturesque Oxfordshire village of Swalcliffe. Named after the swallows which visited in years gone by Swalcliffe is now a designated conservation area and consists of a small cluster of cottages, a church, a pub, a boarding school, a village hall and a Tithe Barn housing a museum of rural and agricultural life as well as a history of Swalcliffe.
Footpaths and bridleways leading from the village into peaceful countryside and passing through gently rolling hills and beautiful byways make it a perfect location for walkers, cyclists and families to enjoy countryside pursuits or to simply sit and relax in ambient surroundings. Located on the edge of the Cotswolds, the cottage is an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful area. Within easy reach are the market towns of Shipston-on-Stour, Chipping Norton and Banbury, all only 10 minutes drive away. ‘Shakespeare’s Stratford’, is just a 15 minute drive. It is possible to explore the northern Cotswolds, southern Warwickshire and Northamptonshire with ease. A little further afield but still within easy reach can be found the ‘dreaming spires’ of Oxford, racing at Silverstone, designer shopping at Bicester, a delightful small theatre at Chipping Norton, Blenheim Palace at Woodstock, and historic Warwick Castle. Swalcliffe village is in an ideal location for visiting many National Trust properties, such as Charlecote Park or Farnborough Hall. Nearby villages are brought to life with country pubs and restaurants. Other local points of interest include stone circles, civil war battle fields, potteries and breweries.
The cottage is just a few metres from the local pub- The Stag’s Head, the church, and a magnificent Tithe Barn.
