This is a cottage/studio apartment. The cottage is small with private bathroom(shower) and kitchen. It was renovated summer 2008. One large living area with 1 king size American bed. There is a sleeping loft upstairs where we have one double size mattress. (usually for young adults, children) sleeps 2 . There is no door between the two sleeping areas. Projector TV . Internet.
The house was renovated 2008 on the inside. The outside and garden were finished the summer 2015. We now offer a private parking space and a private porch/ "garden" area.
We are sure you will feel relaxed and comfortable in our house. In Iceland we talk about “the house spirit” and this house truly has a good soul and a spirit that will make you feel welcome.
We offer great value, one price no hidden fees.
It is a 3 minute walk to the town center where there is a hotel that offers a breakfast buffet. All your necessary services and shopping are within a 5 minute walk.
Me and my Finnish wife and our 5 year old son, welcome you to stay in this charming place. The house used to be our home for 15 years.Traveling is something we enjoy very much, while experiencing new cultures, languages, and surroundings.
We love animals and our family also includes two cats and six Icelandic horses. If you are interested, we do offer short riding trips. You get to know the friendly, easygoing Icelandic horse and your picture is taken while on horseback (something to show people back home…)
I am Icelandic but I grew up in the United States. My interests are; Reading, history, our horses, hiking , and cold water swimming, (which I practise all year around).
We welcome you and hope you will enjoy your stay in our house.
Arni purchased this bungalow in 2006
I can't say enough about how perfect our experience was at this bungalow. It's beautifully designed for two people!! It was impeccably clean, and the bed was SO comfortable (which is not always so with rental houses)! The best part is the MASSIVE projector TV in front of the bed. You might laugh as most people go to Iceland to "get away from it all," but it ended up being such a nice way to relax before bed after hiking and driving all day. The location was a perfect home base for our wanderings around the West Fjords. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance so everything is at your fingertips.
The next best part? The bungalow's owner, Arni!!!! We managed to lock ourselves out of the house within the first hour (total user error, by the way), and he was there in a flash with a friendly smile, wonderful recommendations and a great sense of humor. A certain beach he recommended to us just outside of Isafjord ended up being one of our favorite places in the West Fjords.
We offer short riding tours geared towards beginers
