About Pep Colom
We are a couple with grown-up children who offer for your holidays in Majorca, one of our two houses situated on the same estate where we live. Our aim is to deal directly with our guests and that is why we started the 2016 season with our own web page: www.esvermell.com
Pep Colom purchased this House in 1986
Why Pep Colom chose Port de Sóller
We chose this plot of land measuring 10.400 m2 so as to have peace and calm. The size of the land means that we are protected from neighbours and noise even though we are very close to the sea and the city center.
What makes this House unique
Its orientation and position means that the property gets a lot of sunlight as well as having great views of both the Port of Sóller and the Tramuntana mountain range.

Amazing house, amazing location and wonderful hosts!
This house is stunning! It overlooks Port de Sóller, less than a ten minute walk to the shops and restaurants. There are two terraces with the most amazing views from both. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed, even three bicycles that we used most days to fetch groceries and explore the town. There is also beach equipment available, chairs and umbrellas which was great!! the cost of renting loungers on the beach everyday will add up :-). The beds in the house are incredibly comfortable and can be made up as doubles or singles. There are three bathrooms, with two great showers. Pep and Catherine could not have been more considerate and thoughtful. Catherine gave us a tour of the house when we arrived and left us with an amazing welcome pack including breads, cheeses, meats, coffee, tea and wine. They organised a taxi for us on arrival and departure and even got up at the crack of dawn to let the taxi driver in the gates. Just absolutely above and beyond great hospitality that was so appreciated. Thanks so much!
There is so much to see and do in Port de Sóller, we went swimming, hiking, kayaking and drank cocktails watching the sunset! We didn’t have a single bad meal on the waterfront although it can be a bit pricey. We found that we needed to book some of the more popular reviewed restaurants. Take a trip into Sóller for equally great food at slightly cheaper prices. The beach is very clean but busy, water is great for swimming but a bit cold in early June.
Thank you so much for your extremely kind comments. We are delighted that you had a good stay and that you enjoyed staying in our house. Best wishes.
Pep and Catherine
Very impressive property with the most amazing views
An amazing property with three double bedrooms that can be made up as singles. The views are incredible and the welcome was the warmest we have ever received. Pep and Catherine we both lovely, kind and extremely hospitable especially as we arrive much later than planned. A very nice welcome pack was waiting for us when we arrived as we were self catering it was much appreciated. It was the best equipped accommodation we have ever stayed in with spacious living area and two bathrooms and an extra toilet. There was a washer and dishwasher and all amenities we required. There are two fab outside areas for eating, reading or simply enjoying your favourite beverage. We did not hire a car and used a transfer company although there is parking at the villa. The walk to town was quite steep but we managed it every day. Port de Solller has a lovely beach, plenty of fab restaurants and cafes with several supermarkets and shops.
We took the tram to Solller which was lovely as is the town and costs €7 pp single and the taxi back was €10.
You can get a train from Soller to Palma for €18 pp. The taxi back was €40. Be aware the taxis only hold 4 passengers. There are no mini buses available unless you come back from the airport.
We would love to return in the future and wish both Pep and Catherine our best wishes for the future.
Dear Diane, thank you for your lovely comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Good luck to you too with your new venture!
What a beautiful house! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is really well equipped with everything you need for a great holiday. There are superb views from the two terraces, where we enjoyed afternoons in the sun. The owners were very welcoming and hospitable, even leaving a very generous welcome pack , which was most appreciated.
The area surrounding the house is ideal for anyone who likes walking, as it is very close to the long distance path GR221. There's a huge variety of restaurants in the Port, which is an easy downhill walk away.We walked into the town of Soller and got the tram back to the Port. Palma is also easy to reach by the old wooden train from Soller.
We were very sad to leave this lovely house and Port de Soller and would love to stay here again.
Dear Pam, thank you very much for your great comments. We really appreciated them and we would be very happy to see you again.
Beautiful house overlooking the bay in Port de Soller. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby
The house was absolutely beautiful with everything done to a high standard. The views are wonderful over the bay and mountains. The owners were very helpful offering advice and recommendations on sightseeing and restaurants. The welcome pack was very generous and meant we didn’t need to visit the supermarket right away.
There is quite a hill to negotiate to reach the house but it is well worth it.
Our party was made up of 3 ladies on a girlie holiday and we would all recommend the house.
Es Vermell-beautiful views over the mountains and across the Porte de Soller
We had a lovely time. The house was impeccably clean, spacious and well equipped. The weather was perfect and after a couple of days exploring the local beach we took the coastal road and drove to Deia, Pollensa and Valdemossa- stunning scenery and quaint-well worth a visit. We tried paddle boarding in the bay and hired a boat and spent time snorkelling. Catherine and Pep were perfect hosts and made excellent recommendations for restaurants. We would thoroughly recommend this place for a relaxing holiday.
The Repic beach is just a short walk away and there you can find a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops of all types. The property is on one side of the bay and the Port is 500 metres on the other side and it can be reached on foot. There are also several hiking paths on the nearby mountains. The village of Sóller can be reached by means of a small tramway and Palma is accessible by the picturesque train, bus or car. The villages of Deyà and Fornalutx are also on different bus routes and very close.
