Lovely, spacious house in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from ten days in the Tenerife sunshine, staying at this lovely spacious house, just a mile or so from Puerto Cruz.

The house is well equipped with everything you need, and is in a great location just a short distance from both Puerto Cruz, with its many shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants, and also from the beautiful Canadian town of La Orotava.

Having stayed in the South of the Island before, we wanted to explore the "real" Tenerife, away from the packed resorts. The north of the Island is a huge contrast to the dry and dusty south, with lush green valleys, beautiful traditional Canadian towns and a more relaxed pace.

The house is perfectly located in a quiet residential area, and is ideal for exploring the local towns, and quiet hidden beaches along the north coast. It's also just about 30 minutes by car to the Capital, Santa Cruz which is a very modern, cosmopolitan city.

A 45 minute drive up into the national park will leave you gasping at the stunning Forrests and view of the whole island. A little further and you reach Mount Teide itself, which is just incredible and perhaps one of the most accessible active volcanoes in the world, don't miss it, it takes your breath away.

Do hire a car if you can, the whole island, including all the tourist resorts (if you just can't resist the pull of packed golden sandy beaches) is easily reached in an hour or so. But do explore all the little, often deserted beaches in the north, they are stunning, and a total contrast to the packed, tame tourist beaches in the south.

Back to the house and Toby, the owner met us on arrival and gave us a tour and all the local, useful information. There is a lovely garden, with outdoor dining area, a child safe pond with fish which kept our toddler happy feeding them each day, and plenty of places to just sit in the sun and relax. Toby is very welcoming and though we didn't need it, was on hand for anything we might have needed.

Highly recommend this holiday home, and would definitely book again in future.

Ideal holidays

It was nice and comfortable stay. You have everything you need in the house. Garden is beautiful and shady, we spent a lot of time outside, having our meals there. The owner, Toby, is sweet, hospitable and helpfull 24/7. The place, itself, is very safe and peacefull, close to Puerto and Orotava.

I would highly recomend this place to everybody who wants to relax and enjoy real Tenerife.
