These perfect appointed cottages are great for short breaks or weeks away and superbly located for those wanting to explore the Lakes.
Having always loved the outdoors and everything the beautiful Lake District has to offer, we fell in love and chose Cartmel for a number of reasons. It really is a picture postcard English village and this 'thimble full of diamonds' whilst still steeped in history has become a fantastic foodie destination and whilst a great destination in its own right is superbly placed for exploring all of a The Lakes. Then there are the race days on what has been described as the prettiest racetrack in the UK. When we first stumbled on Maggie Puddle, we instantly fell in love with it. Two cute, cosy cottages that have been sympathetically restored and we hope you agree offer a real 'home from home.' We live locally and are on hand for any questions you may have at any point during your stay.

Lovely stay at The Nest.
The cottage is perfect for a getaway for a few days - cute, cosy, immaculately presented and in a great location – just a couple of minutes’ walk to Cartmel’s pubs and restaurants. Bed very comfortable, good shower. Checking in and out is easy and Harriet responded very quickly to enquiries.
We will definitely be back.
A little end cottage, one up one down with a lovely airy open feel. Wood burner if you need it but the heating is quick and responsive. Nice bathroom and really lovely bed and bedding. Everything has been very nicely done and the Prosecco, flowers and mince pies were a real treat when we arrived in the cold and the dark. Kitchen modern and well appointed. Car parking a bonus. Owners close and very responsive.
Absolutely loved The Nest! Although only 1 bedroom it was big enough not to feel small and it was beautifully furnished with everything we needed with a few nice extras left for us by the owner. It was about 5 minutes walk into the centre village so near enough but not too close (make sure you take the torch supplied out at night - there are no street lights but this adds to the romance of the place!) Cartmel is a beautiful village and we will certainly return.
Very comfortable and well equiped cottage. Lovely place to stay and enjoy Cartmel and the surrounding area.
Lovely clean, tastefully modernised cottage. Cartmel delightful. Handy shop and plenty of places to eat and drink within short walk.
We both loved the property. It's situated in a perfect position in Cartmel , so as not to be disturbed by daily visitors but close enough to walk to the Main Square. Nothing was too much trouble when dealing with the Owners and we felt very welcomed by the bottle of Prosecco and Cupcakes when we arrived. Maggie Puddle will be the first place we look to book, when we plan our next trip to the Lake District!
