About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths

Welcome to a place of enchantment. This unique cottage, a blend of the Old and the New, offers the bliss of the mountains yet all the modern day essentials. Nestled on a ridge in the in-town Mirror Lake Neighborhood, it overlooks 6.5 Acres of wooded privacy from a wonderful 32 foot Living Porch (2/3 covered) with the enjoyment of Humming Birds, Owls, Stary Nights, and Total Peace. It is an easy walk to Mirror Lake and just minutes away from downtown Main Street and all Highlands has to offer.

The Absolutely Fabulous Master Bedroom with Cathedral Ceilings is separately located upstairs encompassing an incredible vista and wintertime mountain view. The Master Bath with jetted tub is like being in the woods. The Guest Bedroom with Extra Length Twin Beds (which may be joined to make a King) and second Bath, are privately located on the Main Floor. A Charming Music Room, for those who love Piano, is a wonderful retreat also allowing space for additional sleeping (Coleman Mattress) and offers an adjacent Half Bath.

On those chilly evenings the wood burning stone fireplace adds the final touch of what we most seem to enjoy in our mountains. Welcome home !!

Map

Highlands has something for everyone. It is a 'real' town as well as a destination for weddings and other special occasions. Most often it is 10 degrees cooler than Atlanta, for example. One can enjoy fabulous boutique shopping, fine restaurants, outstanding 'arts', as well as the 'run of the mill', plus exquisite scenery, cool summer temperatures, hikings, waterfalls, peace and quiet. New Zip Line is only minutes away! Is there something more??

Perfect Cottage

  • 5 of 5

I can certainly understand why the Enchanted Cottage is the Owner's little piece of heaven! This is definitely one of our favs and was extremely comfortable and cozy - exactly what we had hoped for. June has wonderful taste and her special decorating touches are seen throughout the cottage. Attention to detail makes all the difference! The location is perfect tucked away in the trees you feel so removed from everything, yet you are a short drive from the beautiful downtown area of Highlands. The upstairs master suite will not disappoint - it's like being in a treehouse. Beautiful morning sunrise and peaceful evening sunset views. Thanks for all of your area tips June. Your suggestions for area restaurants and hiking trails were very much appreciated and right on target. We loved Paoletti's, Canyon Kitchen, Wild Thyme, and Mountain Fresh Grocery. I had to make my annual stop for their wonderful balsamic vinegar. Our new favorite spot is Dusty's Superette. We stopped in a couple of times to satisfy a sweet tooth and to pick up items for a wonderful picnic lunch to enjoy during one of our hikes. They also have a very good wine selection. We loved traveling Hwy. 64 in either direction and found the drive alone to be part of the adventure. We explored Dry Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Whiteside Mountain (the hike is totally worth it!!), Whitewater Falls, Cullasaja Falls, and Glen Falls hike and Falls just to name a few. We found so many new things this trip and can't wait to return and continue the adventure. We will definitely stay at the Enchanted Cottage again. Thank you June!!

Cozy, relaxing, cabin

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at 240 Wyanoak. The location is perfect for a visit to Highlands. The owner, June, was very accommodating. The mountain house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful, Enchanting Vacation

  • 5 of 5

In an area of the country rife with log cabins that all look the same, this cottage was a breath of fresh air. Tucked just up a little mountain road in Highlands, it was even better than the photos.

The quirky little place was impeccably clean, well-stocked and well-maintained. And June is great to work with—very accommodating and responsive.

But the biggest draw of the cottage is the way the light plays throughout the rooms. Sunlight gently spills into the master bedroom in the morning. Warm up in the afternoon dappled sunlight of the music room. We had a wonderful time here, filled with fires, coffee, books and music. We enjoyed the cozy, private feel even though the property is on a street with other houses. The area is beautiful, and the home is convenient to everything. We also made friends with the squirrel on the back deck and the albino chipmunk who lives somewhere out front.

Head into town for local coffee at Buck's or Mountain Fresh Grocery. We also loved some of the out-of-the-way places like Fressers Eatery. The last night we were there, we hiked up to Sunset Rock, which is definitely worth the view.

Can't wait to come back here.

Perfect City Escape

  • 5 of 5

My husband, pup and I enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at June's cabin (three nights). The owner, June, is very organized with all the details and made everything easy. The cottage is adorable, well-maintained and cozily decorated. It is very well stocked with all the basics you need (esp for cooking). The view is great and while the house is in a 'neighborhood', it feels very private with all the trees. The drive into the main part of Highlands is super quick so you can have the best of worth worlds for your trip. We hope to be back!

Beautiful place to escape the heat

  • 5 of 5

We spent three nights here, with the goal of having some good meals and reading on the porch. The house accommodated both perfectly. It is very convenient to Highlands, where there are restaurants and grocery stores (all 5 minutes away by car). During our mid-June stay, the high was in the mid-70s each day.

This property is instantly homey, and the owner has done a fabulous job of keeping a rustic feel while providing all conveniences. The house is also very, very clean and well-maintained.

Uniquely, the house has a kitchen that is both functional and very pleasant to use. Many of the other places we looked into had either ancient kitchens that looked very unfriendly or new ones that lacked any charm. This one has good views of the common areas, porch and yard, and the appliances are high-quality and modern.

The house is situated very privately, and the interior and exterior spaces are not exposed to immediate views or interactions with neighbors. Happily, though, there are neighbors on both sides and across the street -- meaning you enjoy the good parts of isolation while still enjoying the security of a neighborhood.

We will return to this property, and I think the owner's photos give a genuine impression of the look and condition of the property. If it looks good to you, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic stay

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at many mountain vacation rentals over the years but this one was by far the best. Enchanted Cottage is the perfect name for this place. Nothing is better than relaxing on the comfortable large deck watching the hummingbirds and other birds while looking out at the lush forest. Absolutely beautiful! Our dog Katie spent most of her time on the deck, enjoying the cool mountain air.

All the comforts of home, and then some. The upstairs master bedroom has an unbelievable view of the woods below with its expanse of glass. I am picky about beds and the king size there was very comfortable and I slept like a baby. The rest of the cottage was tastefully furnished and decorated, clean and comfortable.

It is just a few minutes away from downtown shopping, Bryson's grocery, waterfalls, and the other attractions.

June was attentive of our needs and communicated quickly.

For a getaway from the stresses of everyday life and for relaxation this place can't be beat. We will definitely be back.
