In one word - Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage in a beautiful and quiet setting. Spacious rooms, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge. En-suite bathrooms excellent. Gamekeepers cottage is without doubt the best accommodation we have ever stayed in for a break. Property clean and well maintained. Owners friendly and very helpful. Great communication when booking and during the holiday. Five star without doubt. With the countryside views and a grass area for children to play, Sky TV in the lounge (with Sky Sports), TV in both bedrooms - what else can you realistically ask for!!!!! Highly recommended!

Absolutely brilliant

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Gamekeepers Cottage, Ranmoor this year. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we couldn't wait to visit again - we were not disappointed. Beautiful and peaceful location. Scenery great. Accommodation superb. Accommodation clean and comfortable. Kitchen fully equipped. A minor glitch with Sky but sorted without any fuss and by very helpful people (Margaret, Jacqui and Paul). Saw more wildlife than on our previous visit - but, camera skills and timing questionable. Will try harder on our next visit - we cannot wait.

Very comfy cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is in a lovely setting, very quiet. The weather was ghastly during our stay so we did not see much wildlife. I should imagine it is glorious in the spring/summer. The kitchen is indeed well stocked and great for a big meal for several people,

There are a few minor signs of wear and tear i.e. somebody has removed the cord on the kitchen blind and it will not wind up and down. The patio one will not wind up or down. It would have been nice to have a hoover or carpet sweeper and kitchen mop as due to the wind and bad weather the floors were getting mucky.

Unfortunately the sky subscription stopped from the Sunday of our stay which was a bit of a bummer as it was nice to have the treat of sky. Apart from these minor things we did have a lovely break and want to come back in the weather to visit the coastline again in the sun. (I did try and raise somebody in the main house and side cottage to no avail).

Finally the of the back of the outbuilding adjacent to the property is a bit of an eyesore needs a lick of paint or screening off).

The cottage garden is perfect for people with kids, they can let off plenty of steam and even roly-poly down the slope safely, wish I was not 63!

Fantastic property

  • 5 of 5

I booked Gamekeepers Cottage as part of a booking for all 3 properties in the grounds of Ranmoor for my 50th Birthday as we had a large group of 26. It was perfect to accommodate my large party within the same beautiful grounds. The property was perfect in every way, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, so spacious and the location and views were amazing.

The owner was so helpful with making everything so easy to book and for providing so much detail about the local area.

I will certainly be returning with my family and friends who all agreed that the property was perfect in every way.

Many thanks

We will return in the summer. Recommended.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with our friends Jeff and Kate. Our cottage had two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, kitchen, dining room living room, and its own outdoor sitting area. It was very private from the other cottages and we had secure parking within the compound. Everything was high quality and tasteful. It was also very quiet and restful, we loved this place and felt like we had a wonderful getaway ourselves.

There is outdoor seating looking out over the surrounding rural countryside, relaxing with a glass of wine and a snack or meal. The cottages are a few miles from Blandford in a quiet part of the country. Each of the two adjoining cottages has its own seating area and privacy.
