Beautiful Lake Front Cabin

Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathroom, Sleeps 8

Our cabin is located on Neal's Pond in the heart of the Green Mountains. Come enjoy your Vermont vacation where you can watch the ducks, loons, and geese paddle by and see the occasional moose feeding out front.

It is fully furnished with kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and living room, TV/Satellite with DVR and DVD player, high speed wireless internet, with all the amenities of home including front loading washer and dryer. Located on a 3/4 acre lot with a large private yard great for family game of volleyball or have a camp fire in the firepit. There are neighbors on one side of the cabin we are the last house on the road so there is no traffic . Great location for outdoor actives including hiking, boating, and fishing.

The swimming in front of the cabin is good for small children to splash around and a great area for pets to swim, but it is very shallow and becomes weedy and mucky after the 24ft dock. There is a row boat on property for your use and there is a great place to swim only a 5 minute paddle away.

Why Jennifer chose Northeast Kingdom

The 'Bull Rush Inn' has always had a very special place in my heart and I hope that if you choose to spend your vacation here that you will love it as much as I do.

This spot on the lake has been in my family for many years. My father's family owned the land and used it to pasture thier farm animals. My mother's grandparents bought this lot and put a camper on it. During thier stays my great grandmother noticed all the moose that would come feed at the waters edge, so she started calling it 'Bull Rush Inn'. My Parnets bought the land from my great grandparents and built the cabin here in 1991, when I was just 10 years old. I've been in love with it ever since and I'm very glad to be able to share it with you. My husband and I have done a lot of work here over the past few years. We had turned it into two units in 2006, but in the fall of 2012 we've converted it back into a single family home. We upgraded the kitchen and made a large master bedroom with its own private deck.

Perfect Girls get away

  • 5 of 5

We were six women for our annual girls trip. The property was private and very clean with plenty of room for us comfortably. We cooked in and the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed the fire pit and happy hours on the deck. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The owner was very attentive and wanted to make sure that our stay was perfect. it's a five star getaway!

Amazing home and perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time. The home was equipped with everything that we needed and it was very clean. Waking up in the mornings and sitting by the lake was like being in heaven. I want to make this home my annual vacation home moving forward.

Great location, quiet with a million dollar view

  • 5 of 5

Great place, everything you need is provided, rap around deck is amazing perfect for outside dinners at sunset. The only things I would change would be adding screen doors, especially on the slider overlooking the lake, the breeze would be good but because of the bugs you couldn't keep the doors open. The other thing is the accessibility to the downstairs shower/bath, there is a wooden bench that is used as a step to get up into the tub, it can get dangerously slippery, my mother stayed with us and she is older with bad knees, going to the upstairs 3/4 shower was not an option for her so she had to use the downstairs one which she said was very difficult for her. Other than those two things the place is great, definitely a 4.5 star place for the $199/nt price, one thing that is disappointing is that my brother wanted to rent this place in Oct but the price jumps to almost $400/nt, for that price I would go someplace else.

Wonderful property and clean home in a beautiful town.

  • 4 of 5

Clean, spacious home with a great yard to hang out with the family. Located at the end of the road, it provides a quiet stay in this rural setting. We had a great time fishing and boating on the pond. There is a nice outside firepit and plenty of dry firewood is provided. We plan on booking again next year !

Perfect location for a Vermont Cabin!

  • 4 of 5

Our group of 7 adults, 2 kids and 3 dogs enjoyed an excellent week at this lovely Lunenburg camp. The location is amazing with plenty of privacy and quiet at the end of a dead-end road. We knew we'd love it as soon as we arrived. The yard and cabin are well cared for and spacious. The open floor plan on the first floor was perfect for a large group like ours. There wrap--around deck provided ample outdoor space for meals and for lounging - which we loved. The kitchen (which as a range, microwave and a dishwasher) is stocked with the basics for cooking for a group - it's adequate but not fancy. Internet was reliable and those with Verizon has reasonable (but not perfect) 3G reception.

Our family enjoyed our days in the kayaks and evenings around the firepit. We also highly recommend a visit to Lancaster, NH (about 20 mins away). The movie theater had a free kids movie on Tuesday mornings and there is an excellent bakery on Main St. (Polish Princess - note it is closed Monday & Tuesday.)

Jennifer was very responsive and accommodating in the booking process and helped us with some flexibility with our departure time.

We would recommend this camp for a group - but perhaps not for anyone with mobility or access issues given that most of the bedrooms are upstairs and the shower/bath is not accessible.

Loved the location, Minor Amenity Concerns

  • 4 of 5

1) Beautiful setting

2) 'Beach sandbar' area notated in welcome book, non existing. Maybe due to pond water level.

3) Challenging to cook with only one smaller pot. Althoug several larger ones available, still chsllenging.

4) Didn't find broom until last day as it was hidden in the trash shed. Never did find a dust pan, so we had to use a piece of paper to sweep the dirt on.

5) Downstairs tub/shower is challenging to use for older/physically limited individuals as you have to step on a bench to get in, without any hand rails.

6) Need to fix door stop on downstairs bathroom door.

7) Thought it was just me, but our entire group noticed the house is not level and is sloping toward the living-room. And we could feel the slope as we slept in the downstairs bedroom.

8) Without air conditioning, it was difficult not to open the windows as suggested in the welcome book. Would suggest placing a screen on the glass slider as well. Had some fly issues, but offset by the cool breeze coming across the pond.

8) Need to update the info in the welcome book to reflect a single home, not a duplex

9) Would have been nice to know someone was going to be cutting the grass on the morning of our last day, so those sleeping past 9:00 wouldn't have been disturbed. Also difficult to enjoy breakfast as a riding mower, two weedwackers and a leaf blower were going back and forth. Luckily we decided to eat inside and not on the porch, as we were thinking.

10) I'm all for recycling, but without available bins in the house or porch, made it very challenging to remember, and take out to the shed.

Although these may seem negative, they are meant as suggestions to improve the next rentor's stay.

Overall very nice, w/ minor concerns. Typically don't stay at the same place twice, so can't say if we would rebook.
