Northeast Kingdom House Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathroom, Sleeps 8

Our cabin is located on Neal's Pond in the heart of the Green Mountains. Come enjoy your Vermont vacation where you can watch the ducks, loons, and geese paddle by and see the occasional moose feeding out front.

It is fully furnished with kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and living room, TV/Satellite with DVR and DVD player, high speed wireless internet, with all the amenities of home including front loading washer and dryer. Located on a 3/4 acre lot with a large private yard great for family game of volleyball or have a camp fire in the firepit. There are neighbors on one side of the cabin we are the last house on the road so there is no traffic . Great location for outdoor actives including hiking, boating, and fishing.

The swimming in front of the cabin is good for small children to splash around and a great area for pets to swim, but it is very shallow and becomes weedy and mucky after the 24ft dock. There is a row boat on property for your use and there is a great place to swim only a 5 minute paddle away.

Suitability:

Why Jennifer chose Northeast Kingdom

The 'Bull Rush Inn' has always had a very special place in my heart and I hope that if you choose to spend your vacation here that you will love it as much as I do.

This spot on the lake has been in my family for many years. My father's family owned the land and used it to pasture thier farm animals. My mother's grandparents bought this lot and put a camper on it. During thier stays my great grandmother noticed all the moose that would come feed at the waters edge, so she started calling it 'Bull Rush Inn'. My Parnets bought the land from my great grandparents and built the cabin here in 1991, when I was just 10 years old. I've been in love with it ever since and I'm very glad to be able to share it with you. My husband and I have done a lot of work here over the past few years. We had turned it into two units in 2006, but in the fall of 2012 we've converted it back into a single family home. We upgraded the kitchen and made a large master bedroom with its own private deck.

Comfortable, spacious, beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

We had a great week here. The house is right on the water and has a fabulous view. The garden is a particular plus. Well kept and looked after; it is a wonderful place to relax. The fire pit is great in the evenings and the hammock and terrace are excellent lounging spots. The house is spacious and well appointed with kitchen equipment - for a house which is clearly designed for vacation rental rather than as a family home or home away from home. With that in mind it could be improved somewhat. The house is constructed very basically, and the floor even slopes a little. A kayak or two would be wonderful to take advantage of the lake. The rowing boat provided is awkward to get around in and consequently wasn't used very much. Some basic fishing equipment would have been fun for overseas visitors like us who could not bring their own. A flashlight and candles would have been useful for the two occasions during our week when there was a power outage. It was noticeably quieter during the week than at the weekend when some of the nearby camps around the lake can become a bit noisy, and noise really travels far across the water. However these were all minor points and overall we had a great stay here. Thanks!

Gorgeous house in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

This was the first time I ever rented a vacation home and I am so happy I did. The pictures do not do the house justice. The pond, which is more similar to a lake was still and beautiful. I loved waking up to the fall foliage on the neighboring mountains and seeing the thin steam/fog floating away as the day began to warm. Jennifer has everything you can think of to make the house feel more like home. With two children under the age of 4, it becomes a necessity to have dinner at home. Not only is there full cutlery, pots, pans and plates but also items like strainers and cheese graters. I was so impressed. All the appliances are new, there are fresh linens, and a washer and dryer. Which i did use to help clean up some of the linens we used. The yard was great for the kids to run around in. I only wish we could have used the fire pit but the weather got a bit too chilly. For future renters... The place is remote (forest and corn fields along the way) but all this is exactly what a family of New Yorkers was looking for. Thank you again Jennifer for letting us use your beautiful home and we look forward to returning.

Perfect Birthday Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is wonderful...I'd call it A Home Away From Home. I choose to stay here for a couple of days as a surprise for my mother on her birthday. It had everything I know she'd love...A balcony with a Gorgeous view in the bedroom she was staying in. A jucuzzi tub. A dining room table for all of us to eat together. ( My mother is very family oriented so she loved that). Alot of outside space with a Hammock and outside furniture to sit and eat outside or just enjoying the view of the water. My fiance made alot of our meals on the grill. We loovveedddd it. Me and my fiance went row boating it was great. My one year old Teacup Yorkie was extremely relaxed here... that's a big plus(she suffers from extreme anxiety) and she even experienced her first time swimming and loved it...she kept going in over and over...lol. My family and I enjoyed this Cabin more than I even could imagine. Can't wait to stay again. Thank you so much to Jennifer and her family for sharing such a wonderful place and making this experirnce a memorable one for us

Wonderful cabin!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin for the September long weekend with four couples. The cabin is in a great location, clean, comfortable and has everything you need. The only downfall was that the lake right out front is pretty slimy and full of seaweed- one can't really swim right off the dock. Other than that we found it perfect! We made use of the wonderful large yard, the rowboat which was lots of fun and the fully equipped kitchen. It was also GREAT to be able to bring my dog along- she was in heaven! We would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a lovely get away!!

Could not have been more perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Our family; our grown children and their children spent a week at "Bulls Rush Inn". The location, being the last cabin on the end of the lake, is perfectly private. The kitchen is FULLY equipped - no need to bring anything! The 4 bedrooms were perfectly set up to accommodate all of us. The bedrooms (except one) came with a fan, no need for air-conditioning as the mountain air is cool and beautiful! What excitement and joy my grandsons, ages, 6, 4 and 3 had catching fish! Right off the dock, their are many "pan" fish and they all but jumped on the boys' lines. Using the rowboat to go out (we brought a small trawling motor) helped the adults to go catch a few fish of their own. We spent every evening out at the campfire.

The only "issue" we had, was that the steps are REALLY creaky, so it was all but impossible to sneak up or down the stairs if someone is sleeping without making a LOT of noise. Stairs aside, this is still the place to be! I'd go back again soon, if it wasn't all booked up!
