Lunenburg House Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathroom, Sleeps 8

Our cabin is located on Neal's Pond in the heart of the Green Mountains. Come enjoy your Vermont vacation where you can watch the ducks, loons, and geese paddle by and see the occasional moose feeding out front.

It is fully furnished with kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and living room, TV/Satellite with DVR and DVD player, high speed wireless internet, with all the amenities of home including front loading washer and dryer. Located on a 3/4 acre lot with a large private yard great for family game of volleyball or have a camp fire in the firepit. There are neighbors on one side of the cabin we are the last house on the road so there is no traffic . Great location for outdoor actives including hiking, boating, and fishing.

The swimming in front of the cabin is good for small children to splash around and a great area for pets to swim, but it is very shallow and becomes weedy and mucky after the 24ft dock. There is a row boat on property for your use and there is a great place to swim only a 5 minute paddle away.

Suitability:
  • Long-term Renters Welcome
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets considered
  • suitable for elderly or infirm

Why Jennifer chose Northeast Kingdom

The 'Bull Rush Inn' has always had a very special place in my heart and I hope that if you choose to spend your vacation here that you will love it as much as I do.

This spot on the lake has been in my family for many years. My father's family owned the land and used it to pasture thier farm animals. My mother's grandparents bought this lot and put a camper on it. During thier stays my great grandmother noticed all the moose that would come feed at the waters edge, so she started calling it 'Bull Rush Inn'. My Parnets bought the land from my great grandparents and built the cabin here in 1991, when I was just 10 years old. I've been in love with it ever since and I'm very glad to be able to share it with you. My husband and I have done a lot of work here over the past few years. We had turned it into two units in 2006, but in the fall of 2012 we've converted it back into a single family home. We upgraded the kitchen and made a large master bedroom with its own private deck.

A little slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough good about this sweet place. The cabin is well stocked with everything you might need and the small touches (wine on arrival) shows extreme pride and care taken by the owners. We were on a "working vacation" and the Internet speed was perfect for my husband (which is saying a lot). My boys (2 and 6) spent every waking minute outside from splashing in the pond to laying on the hammock and walking in the woods. We were traveling with grandma and grandpa and the cable tv was a great, so grandpa didn't miss and of "his shows".The view from the upstairs deck is beautiful, my husband and I spent every evening star gazing (there is a TON of them). We did most of our cooking in and the appliances are beautiful, the BBQ is awesome!! This is a perfect place to stay with or without kids. It's the perfect distance for checking out the surrounding areas ( Santa's Village is a must), although nothing is within walking distance other than the woods. The owner is very attentive without being intrusive or overbearing. I cannot believe that we were blessed enough to find this little gem. As a family from Southern California this was a perfect introduction to the beautiful Northwest, we will be making it our "summer place". Thank you Jennifer you do a great job!!

My brother and his family stayed in the home during a family reunion and everyone just loved it. Lots of room for everyone to spread out, well appointed and overall, a great place to stay. The grounds are lovely, well maintained and it had everything we needed.

Family friendly - wonderful accomodations

  • 5 of 5

I rented the cabin for family - four adults and two children - and they LOVED the accommodations. I would rent again (-: Beautiful setting, comfortable beds, nice comfortable furniture, everything the family needed was there to make their home away from home a perfect vacation.

Comfortable, spacious, beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

We had a great week here. The house is right on the water and has a fabulous view. The garden is a particular plus. Well kept and looked after; it is a wonderful place to relax. The fire pit is great in the evenings and the hammock and terrace are excellent lounging spots. The house is spacious and well appointed with kitchen equipment - for a house which is clearly designed for vacation rental rather than as a family home or home away from home. With that in mind it could be improved somewhat. The house is constructed very basically, and the floor even slopes a little. A kayak or two would be wonderful to take advantage of the lake. The rowing boat provided is awkward to get around in and consequently wasn't used very much. Some basic fishing equipment would have been fun for overseas visitors like us who could not bring their own. A flashlight and candles would have been useful for the two occasions during our week when there was a power outage. It was noticeably quieter during the week than at the weekend when some of the nearby camps around the lake can become a bit noisy, and noise really travels far across the water. However these were all minor points and overall we had a great stay here. Thanks!

The cabin was perfect and Jennifer was a great host. This cabin is the perfect rental to be right in the middle of everything the nort country has to offer. Clean, comfortable and private were all of what we were looking for to relax and we found it. Thanks Jen.

Gorgeous house in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

This was the first time I ever rented a vacation home and I am so happy I did. The pictures do not do the house justice. The pond, which is more similar to a lake was still and beautiful. I loved waking up to the fall foliage on the neighboring mountains and seeing the thin steam/fog floating away as the day began to warm. Jennifer has everything you can think of to make the house feel more like home. With two children under the age of 4, it becomes a necessity to have dinner at home. Not only is there full cutlery, pots, pans and plates but also items like strainers and cheese graters. I was so impressed. All the appliances are new, there are fresh linens, and a washer and dryer. Which i did use to help clean up some of the linens we used. The yard was great for the kids to run around in. I only wish we could have used the fire pit but the weather got a bit too chilly. For future renters... The place is remote (forest and corn fields along the way) but all this is exactly what a family of New Yorkers was looking for. Thank you again Jennifer for letting us use your beautiful home and we look forward to returning.
