About Avril & Karel van de Velde
My grandfather built the cottage and always called it his little piece of heaven, which it certainly is. I have wonderful memories of all the holidays I spent in Cawsand as a child and years later I still find it a magical place. Several years ago my husband and I completely refurbished and extended the cottage and landscaped the gardens to create even more terraces from which to enjoy the wonderful views. As my husband is Dutch we spend most of the year in Holland but try to come to Cawsand as much as possible and always find it really difficult to leave again.
What makes this Cottage unique
The location of our cottage is idyllic. It’s nestled in a country lane overlooking the sea and has spectacular views from the living room, dining area and master bedroom. The various terraces and large sun deck (60 square meters - 650 sq feet) are perfect for sunbathing, dining outdoors or just relaxing and enjoying the wonderful views. The cottage is located far enough away from the village to be really quiet and peaceful but close enough to the village to be able to walk to the pubs, restaurants and local shops. The beach, which is directly below the cottage, is a couple of minutes’ walk away and the South West Coast path runs behind the property making it the ideal location for walkers.

Fantastic views and terraces
This is probably the best property in kingsand and Cawsand . It is spacious and comfortable and the views are truly amazing. You can spend all your time just gazing at all the comings and going’s of the boats . The property has all the comforts of home. There are a lot of really good walks to do, again, with wonderful scenery.
A trip on the local ferry to Plymouth is fun as is a visit to Plymouth gin distillery!
Such a beautiful bungalow. Views are absolutely amazing in fact we ended up hardly eating out at all except for lunchtimes when we were out and about as we don't think you could get a better view from a restaurant!. Clean, comfortable and really homely hated going home, just have to do the lottery more often!!! Will definitely be back next year.

Stunning property with a stunning view
Wow! The view from the property is absolutely stunning. We spent many hours looking at the sea and raking everything in.
The bungalow is stunning and very well equipped with everything you could wish for in a holiday property. Plus the view from the bedroom window is absolutely amazing to wake up to each morning!
There is plenty of space indoors and outdoors with several seating areas within the garden to take in the view and relax.
The village is small and quaint and the locals are very welcoming to holidaymakers.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday with a view to die for!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed staying at Wayside and couldn't agree more about the views. I'm always reluctant to get out of bed in the morning as the view from the master bedroom is so fantastic but luckily there are plenty of other places both inside and outside the cottage from which to enjoy it.
I hope to welcome you back one day.

Spectacular sea views and a wonderfully comfortable, well equipped modern cottage.
We came to Wayside because we spotted it from the Cawsand beach last year and thought it'd be a terrific place for a family holiday. Everything was brilliantly presented inside the cottage, which is equipped with everything you needed for cooking and baking. Three choices of locations for dining (2 outside) - all with the amazing sea view. Cawsand itself is a wonderful location for walking, kayak and paddleboarding, or for swimming in the crystal clear water when the tide is in. Hugely recommended!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your holiday and hope to welcome you back one day.

The most fantastic view and a really comfortable cottage.
The house has a Hollywood setting on the side of a hill yet the village is a short walk away.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay in Cawsand and you're right, the view is breathtaking. I look forward to welcoming you back next year.
Well equipped, comfy, stunning location. Plenty to do and the fish n chips were great.
