Guestbook comments from the owner

My husband, two friends and I spent a week on St. John at Seascape in January 2011 celebrating my retirement. Seascape turned out to be an absolutely perfect spot for us - a good-sized swimming pool, space for privacy when wanted, many birds, and easy access to town. I fervently hope to return some day and spend more time enjoying doing nothing at Seascape.

Seascape July

  • 5 of 5

Our most recent trip to St John was honestly the best one so far and we've had some great times on island. Seascape was a very, very, very pleasant surprise. The house itself was great, roomy, had everything we could want but the outside is the main attraction. The expansive deck had a great view during the morning and at night. Most surprisingly for us, we loved the pool. We've stayed at many places with a pool but never really used it but the one at Seascape is pretty big and the water was perfectly warm. It also has a hot tub but we didn't use it because we were in the pool on a floatie listening to the ocean and usually watching the stars.

I am not a morning person and never up early but I'd wake up at 6am every day and just lay there listening to the ocean. There's a AC but we never used it because there was always a pleasant breeze. I'd eventually get out of the massive bed and go sit on the deck and watch the sky change colors and chat with the huge iguanas that hang out on by the deck.

Oh, the house was extremely clean. Something that's very important to us since we've stayed at a place that was over run by bugs (and I don't mean mozzies, I mean the horrifyingly gross kind of bugs).

We will definitely be back next year.

Relaxation at Seascape

  • 5 of 5

Our recent trip to St. John was our 12th visit but our first at Seascape. This was probably our most relaxing trip ever. The view from Seascape is outstanding; it is just 3 miles from Cruz Bay; and the owner and caretaker could not have been more accommodating. This was one of the most stress free vacations we have ever enjoyed. Even though there are many beautiful beaches to experience and places to snorkel and hike on St. John, on this trip the highlight was our morning breakfast on the deck. If you go to Seascape, take along a pair of binoculars. There is much to see. We hope to return.

Breathtaking from beginning to end!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing is all I would really need to say... Views, sunsets, birds, flowers, trees, pool - you name it Seascape has it all. We will only stay at Seascape in our return trips to St John. This is like a home away from home... very comfortable and had everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Loved it...

Once again at Seascape

  • 5 of 5

This was our return trip to Seascape. We absolutely love everything about it. The location is wonderful. Coffee every morning on one of the decks with the bananaquits and hummingbirds. The pool after a long day of snorkeling. The house is equipped with all the cooking utensils you would ever need. The house provides a very comfortable atmosphere. We will be back again next July!

Seascape is Superb! Relaxing, Restorative, Fun, Beautiful.

We live on Cape Cod, and after a grueling New England winter we wanted nothing more than to park ourselves somewhere warm with a sunset view and recharge our spent batteries. I was lucky to find Seascape on VRBO and after an inquiry got a quick response from Bill and Janis, who turned out to be our amazing, thoughtful hosts. From the moment we arrived in Cruz Bay our greeter/caretaker Dave put us at ease and led our way to Seascape. He carefully showed us around the villa and clued us in to all of the little nuance items that go along with any home you've never been in before (TV, wifi, hot tub tutorial, etc). If we had ever really needed anything I know Dave or Robin would have been there 100%, but the place was so wonderfully equipped and appointed that we never lacked for a thing.

The villa itself superseded our expectations in every way. Magical setting with great privacy and garden, spectacular panoramic views, the pool and hot tub area are a "10", and an expansive tropical hardwood deck that wrapped around the entire property. The house is charming and spotless, comfy beds, tons of towels, great master bath. The guest cottage is also adorable and our parents made great use of it. We pretty much lived on the deck and alternated between grilling at night (fully equipped kitchen and the grill is great) and going into Cruz Bay for fine meals. We swam with sea turtles, explored ruins and generally had a fantastic time, but the highlight of each day was coming home to Seascape and sitting with "our" hummingbirds watching the sunsets.

We've been fortunate to visit a lot of beautiful places but Seascape sits right at the top of the list for a tropical home-away-from-home. We can't wait to return and give it our highest rating. Thanks Bill, Janis, Dave and Robin!

Comfort, location and an amazing view

  • 5 of 5

Seascape was the perfect choice for our family. A clean, comfortable house with a guest house that was perfect for our 25 year old son. The large pool was a great bonus. We spent every morning and evening on the deck enjoying an amazing ocean view. We loved the location close to town, but out of the downtown bustle. The owner was accessible and the arrangements were easily made. I would recommend this house to anyone.

Car: recommended

SeaScape is in Estate Chocolate Hole, at the end of a point, nestled into the hillside. It is private and relaxing there is very little traffic. Our spacious decks afford sunny spots as well as shade. It is conveniently close to shopping, beaches and the attractions of St. John.
