A comfy nest to come home to

  • 4 of 5

I really enjoyed this apartment. Lloyd has thoughtfully provided many comforts and "extras." He met me with the keys, showed me the space and let me know that he was there if I needed anything.

Having never spent much time in Brooklyn, I very much enjoyed the beautiful brownstones, the parks, the neighborhood shops, and the fact that there were a few subway choices. It seems surprisingly far from Manhattan and Queens, but only because the buses and trains are not direct. Ubers and cabs are very speedy.

The apartment was big by New York City standards with a small kitchen, a decent-sized living room, and a big bedroom with a connected small bedroom.

I had apartment 3, on the 3rd floor. I would definitely consider staying here again, especially if I was traveling with my whole family.

Great NYC welcome

  • 4 of 5

Great host - Lloyd. Welcome treat and neighbourhood walk around and introductions on arrival. Great resource person. Apt is just 5mins/ virtually three blocks from subway and express A train. Spacious apartment and well furnished for comfortable short stay. Convenience of deli store/supermarkets, restaurants, hair salons, gym, swimming pool (Bed-Stuy Y). Was all great for our mini workcation.

Fair, pics were far more impressive than property

  • 3 of 5

The owner was accommodating as we arrived early. The property could use some basic updates, and its not a true 2 Bedroom. The second room is inside of the main br. So if its more than one br required you will not have any privacy. Great property for a short stay

Great stay in a traditional brownstone apartment

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely time staying at LLoyd's apartment in a beautiful traditional Brownstone building. Although we didn't meet him he was very helpful in directing us to the house and responded quickly to any questions we had. The apartment was great for our 10 day trip, allowing us to escape the busy Manhattan life and explore more of Brooklyn.

The apartment is located very close the the subway where you can get the A train straight into Manhattan. However the area has a number of great cafes and restaurants, in particular Peaches on Lewis Avenue. They serve the best French Toast! You an also walk (45 mins) to Greenpoint and Bedford Avenue, a popular area of Brooklyn.

The only downside to the apartment was the shower. The shower head is quite old and the temperature was hard to adjust! We didn't have got water for one day but Lloyd quickly rung the engineer and the boiler was fixed by the evening. The kitchen is very small but was fine for the two of us, as we mainly ate out! Lloyd was kind enough to let a couple of friends stay the last two nights as there were two spare double beds.

I would definitely recommend this apartment for people who want to stay outside Manhattan and explore the more 'local' areas of New York.

Lovely home in Brooklyn

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful father and son vacation in New York. The Brooklyn home was cosy and clean, a little bit rough, but perfect for us, for two Finnish artists. We just loved it. The stores were near and it was easy to get to Manhattan with the subway and the bus. Lloyd was so friendly and guided us in the nice neighborhood. We agreed most of the reviews and will recommend this place for everyone. We'll be back for sure to Lloyd's nice family.

  • 5 of 5

The place was as described.

Only 5 minutes to the subway by foot. the block is very quiet.

Very nice owner, we felt welcomed. Gave us advice about the town on arrival and was helpful during the stay.

Very good quality-price.

No doubt, I would recommend it to friends.
