This magnificent Grade II listed country cottage is set in large grounds amidst the unspoilt village of Arddleen. It offers spacious, stylish and comfortable accommodation and has panoramic views, an abundance of trees and specially designated areas to encourage the wildlife. It lies approximately five miles north of Welshpool, convenient for visiting the lovely Powys Castle, built circa 1200, and 12 miles south of Oswestry.

The holiday house has an excellent compliment of indoor and outdoor activities such as table tennis and pool table, board games and an extensive book library. The more adventurous can find an abundance of activities such as go-karting, paint balling, quad biking, canoeing and many more exciting tourist attractions. Please email for activity, romance and birthday packages or with details of your requirements.

We also have a hot tub available to hire. Please email for prices and availability.

Trederwen House makes an excellent base to explore the wonders of Wales and Shropshire and is the perfect place for any occasion.

Further afield are Shrewsbury (25mins) and Chester (50mins), both magnificent market towns offering excellent shopping opportunities. Chester hosts regular horse racing at its track

Convenience stores are just two miles away, and a friendly pub/restaurant with children’s play area is just a three minute walk away along the village pathway.

Ideal Family Oriented Country House.

What you see is what you get with this beautiful property; spacious, well equipped and steeped in history. As a family run business the owners were both delightful, and extremely helpful and they did not impose (although they live in an adjacent property) whatsoever unless asked.

Our stay was made more special as we were blessed with good weather allowing us to spend the whole weekend in the vast garden playing ball games with the children, or relaxing in the sun - couldn't ask for more!

Great property.

Lots of character & everything you needed was supplied. All our party were very happy with the property from a six year old to an 83 year old & all ages in between. The downstairs toilet was quite a way from the downstairs bedroom which was a bit awkward for the most elderly guest & the games room was a bit unloved but otherwise great time had by all.

Quirky character house: ideal for big getaway

We hired this period house for a surprise birthday weekend for my partners birthday with a group of 8 adults and 5 children and we loved it.

It's a beautiful quirky building with a fantastic floor plan meaning there was ample room for privacy and yet we could all eat together and relax as a group if we wanted.

The bedrooms were all a good size and plentiful bathrooms made life easy.

Charlotte and Adam were fantastic hosts and accommodated all our needs via open and frequent correspondence.

A fantastic break. We would thoroughly recommend.

Incredible history and amazing features

A wonderful spaceous property for a weekend away with the family. The children loved the space and enjoyed a few games of table tennis in the games room. The property was well equipped with plenty of space for a large party to sit down and eat with nice touches, such as a large bowl of fruit, which kept my children happy. The most amazing thing about the property was the historic features - the old bread oven / safe and the upstairs room (with wattle and daub), the porch and gargoyle which my kids loved. I don't think I have ever stayed somewhere as historic and it reminded me of Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire. Considering the house and rooms were large and we visited on a cold March weekend it was surprisingly warm place to stay. The food at the local pub was nice too and they were very accommodating.

We had no problems at all during our stay and would visit again.
