This spacious single-storey holiday home enjoys a stunning location, surrounded by 4 acres of lakes within the 10 acres of grounds with alpacas, Shetland ponies, wallabies, goats and sheep which can be fed by guests. Unlimited free coarse fishing is available in the well-stocked waters, which are occasionally visited by fishermen. The detached house has been built to a high standard, including underfloor heating throughout, and is light and airy with large windows and patio doors. A wide terrace with built-in barbecue is the ideal spot from which to watch the varied wildlife that visits the site. Ground floor bedrooms, a wet room and ramps into the house allow for easy wheelchair access. The market town of Newbury is 3 miles away and has many historical buildings and places of interest, including the Corn Exchange Theatre and the West Berkshire Museum on the Canal Wharf. The Kennet and Avon canal runs through the town, offering good walks and cycling on the towpath, and boat trips are available. The Newbury Racecourse is within one mile of the town, and nearby are Highclere Castle, Donnington Castle, Snelsmore Countryside Park, The Ridgeway and The Downs. With easy access to the M4, the cities of Oxford, London, Bath and Bristol are within an hour’s drive, as are the coastal resorts of Dorset and West Sussex, or enjoy the beautiful scenery and picturesque villages driving through the Thames Valley and the Cotswolds.
