This property is very tired and in need of some updates on furnishings and fittings.
The host was very welcoming and provided an excellent welcome pack of local sausage, bacon and eggs which we enjoyed. Our impression of the property however was that it needed some money spending on it to make it more acceptable as a holiday let. The bath has a large crack on the side panel and the whole place looked tired and in need of some up dates. If making the property available for friends and family it is fine but for paying guests we felt some investment on it was needed. Having said all this the bed was comfortable and the bedroom was light and clean, I spent most of the time we were in the property reading in the bedroom as I found downstairs dark and smelt a bit (but then we did choice a property that accepted dogs!) I dont want to sound over critical as we had a good time in Bellingham and the cottage is ideally placed for exploring this part of Northumberland but felt I wanted to raise a few issues with it.
