Situated in the heart of the pretty village of Felixkirk, between the North Yorkshire Moors and Dales, Richmond House provides superb quality, luxury holiday accommodation. The property has been renovated and professionally interior designed with a sense of quiet grandeur and an underlying emphasis on homely comfort. Ideal for get-togethers and large families, there is a sociable farmhouse kitchen, a separate dining room and a cosy sitting room complete with wood-burning stove. Three of the bedrooms are in the main house and a further two en-suite rooms are just across the courtyard. All are beautifully presented with high specification facilities. Nearby stands the award-winning traditional village inn, where visitors can book the private dining room should you wish to celebrate a special meal together. Felixkirk is home to Yorkshire Outdoors, a 4x4 driving centre which offers action-packed days with off-road driver training and quad biking. Set on the very edge of the North York Moors, there are numerous footpaths and cycling trails from the doorstep, with stunning views from Sutton Bank and the White Horse at Kilburn. The quaint market town of Thirsk, four miles, has a renowned racecourse and a 15th century church, and is famous for its connections with James Herriot, the well-known vet and author of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. There is even a direct rail link from Thirsk to London, several times a day. There is a wealth of history in this area, with abbey ruins at Rievaulx and Byland, and historic houses at Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall. The World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal is just a 30-minute drive. Family fun can be found at Lightwater Valley and Flamingo Land and there are miles of sandy beaches at the traditional seaside resorts of Scarborough and Whitby. The ancient walled city of York is easily accessible with its cobbled streets, magnificent minster and abundance of tourist attractions. For special occasions, the nearby inn is able to prepare food and serve meals in the property itself. Shop 4 miles, village inn 50 yards.
