In the seaside village of Spittal, just 2 minutes’ walk from its sandy beach and promenade, these stylish properties boast character and charm and each with their own private, enclosed courtyard garden and with Cuthberts and Bedes enjoying sea views from their open plan living rooms. Museums, theatre, good shops, cafés and restaurants lie within walking distance of the historic walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed – from here train journeys to Edinburgh or Newcastle take 45 minutes. Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses and Alnwick’s Castle and internationally acclaimed water gardens are all easily accessible. Golf, fishing, riding, walking and cycling are enjoyed locally. Shop and pub serving food 200 yards.
Good location if you need a base to travel to the likes of Alnwick, Bamburgh, Newcastle. Not much to do in Berwick upon tweed or Spittal. Nice house to stay in,clean on arrival. We were given a bouquet of cupcakes as a welcome gift, which was a nice touch. Very spacious, good size for a family.
Things I disliked, they say free wifi but ask for £5 a week to use it as gratuity. The wifi did not work at all. We were told when we leave not to rush away as the next folk to stay there won't be till 5 days later, but on the morning we were rudely thrown out by the cleaners employed by the owners at 10am. I was furious. We were in the middle of breakfast at the time. Spoiled the end of a nice weekend, I personally would not stay here again.
