This was the cheaper rental for a reason. The kitchen was terrible, from a broken trashcan to ant traps on the counter & poorly equipped. I was not happy to have to spend a week here. I seriously considered canceling, but since the owner fixed the doors & brought new pots the next day, I was appeased. Since pots were missing, the owner did respond & bring a new set during our stay, but it still was not nice using the kitchen. The patio table was covered in sand & pine needles & I had to clean it myself, the view was terrible stuck back in the corner that my family didn't want to eat outside at all. There were water marks on the ceiling & all the appliances & baths needed updating. The carpet upstairs seemed new & the towels & linens on the beds were nice, but the sinks were so low it was a pain to bend over to use them. Poor Lighting throughout made the condo seem dismal. Some new paint & updated kitchen would greatly improve this place since it is close to the beach & town. I would not stay here again.
We always enjoy a Sea Pines Village visit. This unit is a good one. The owners helped us out with the TV/DVD issue, but an instruction sheet would have been helpful. Kitchen had lots of appliances and utensils but nothing smaller than a large lobster pot, so a small saucepan would have been helpful.
Unless I'm missing something, I truly don't think you can get a better deal if you are looking for a place to rent that's a quick walk to the beach. This place is spacious, has two parking spots, and includes all your linens. The pool area is fantastic. It's a nice spacious pool, not at all crowded. It would be nice if the pool hours were extended. They last from 10-7, and almost every day we commented that we could have/would have used the pool before and after the posted hours.
The few issues that detract from a full five star rating are minor complaints, which to me are perfectly acceptable given the price and proximity to the beach as well as the restaurant/shopping area in town.
This particular unit lacks a desirable yard/patio area. Yes, it technically has a patio but it's in the wooded portion of the complex and it isn't really suitable for kids to play in/around. But we did use it to grill a few meals. Most other units in the complex have a beautiful shared green space behind them, with outdoor seating perfect for meals. Perhaps they are a bit pricier, I don't know.
Generally speaking, this place isn't perfectly ideal for very young children, in part because of the lack of an outdoor area to let the kids run, but mostly because the spiral staircase is pretty dangerous for kids. We made it work, though, (expert child-proofers, here!) and would absolutely return to this or a similar unit within the complex.
Great property for family of 3. Very clean and kitchen was well stocked.
We just built a brand new home, so perhaps we are a bit biased. The pictures were nicer than the actual home. I am also a 'clean-freak' and think if it were my home I would dust/clean closets, etc. On the other hand, it was a very cozy, 'cute' vacation home and suited us just fine. The owners couldn't have been nicer so I anticipate we would rent again and just 'overlook' the finer details for a week.
Was very happy with the accommodations. We are a family of 4 and there was more than enough room for all of us. The owner was very accommodating and we would definitely stay here again.
