Set in the historic town of Leyburn in the heart of beautiful Wensleydale, this comfortable, detached and cosy holiday home has a conservatory, a living room with oak floor and has something to offer to guests of all ages. With spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, quaint local shops and cafes, traditional pubs and a weekly farmers’ market, the gateway town of Leyburn is the perfect base for guests to enjoy walking, cycling, sightseeing or just a quiet, romantic break. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
Very well appointed home, had everything we needed and in a great location - just a short walk from the centre of Leyburn. The property has a good layout with a cosy living room, kitchen/dining area and our favourite room - the conservatory! The only downside for us was that although this is a non-smoking property there was a smell of smoke in the hallway and kitchen which, for a family of non-smokers, wasn't too pleasant! Not sure what the owner can do about previous holiday-makers 'bending the rules' and having said this we enjoyed our stay (with a little help from an air freshener!) and spent plenty of time relaxing in the conservatory which has some great views! We had great customer service from the owner and there was plenty of information in the property about the local area if you need it - there's plenty to see and do, and lots of lovely walks. Would recommend this house as a base for those wanting to explore the Yorkshire Dales area.
We stayed at Penhill View for three nights from 22-25th April. The house was just perfect for our stay providing all we needed and more.It was just lovely watching all the wildlife from the conservatory in the early mornings. We were very lucky with the weather and we were able to enjoy the surrounding country side due to the good location of the house. It is very easy to get around from Leyburn. Plenty of nice places to eat and lots of tea rooms. We recommend the Bolton Arms for Sunday Lunch in Redmire but booking is essential.
We will definitely be returning to Penhill View.
