THOROUGHLY DISSAPOINTED- AVOID AT ALL COSTS-MOST UNWELCOMING PLACE
Thoroughly disappointed, this holiday was booked for my inlaws to have a break after a very stressful time. We booked for the week for them and there pets 1 cat and 1 dog. The website stated pets allowed, we added on the notes that we would be bringing a cat and a dog and paid for the 2 pets, my mother in law spoke to a lady beforehand and there was no mention the cat wasn't allowed which we made sure we had written on our notes to the owners. my inlaws arrived and the owner did not greet them with a friendly welcome as they had brought there cat which apparently wasn't allowed!!! They were told they would have to take there cat and dog everywhere with them and was not allowed to leave them in the property alone...not even the dog who was allowed to be there. can you imagine having to take your pets into a restaurant for a meal!!! There was no mention on the website that pets were not allowed to stay alone in the property otherwise they wouldn't of booked there.
This was just the start of there problems, the owners obviously took a dislike to my inlaws from then or are just unfriendly anyway,my inlaws couldn't be a nicer couple. The next day they were told there was using too much electric!! bear in mind my inlaws come from the country and enjoy spending there time walking, exploring and being outdoors. They spend hardly any time indoors except the evenings. So this came as a shock to them and made them feel very uncomfortable being in the cottage and using any appliances!! When you have paid for a week in a cottage you expect to use the facilities and not have to worry how much electric your using. The next day they got told they couldn't use the bath and could have showers only!!! Bear in mind my mother in law had only had 1 bath anyway there.
Also the whole time there radiators were switched off and my inlaws spent a very cold first night. so from then they had to make there own log fires to keep warm. Everytime they saw the owners there was always a mention of them using too much electric or water etc.
In the end we got a message from them that they had never had such a stressful week and was going to come home early. They left 2 days early, missing there last day/night and remaining day. We feel absolutely awful for booking them this cottage that we did lots of research on before booking looking at many other places beforehand. AVOID AT ALL COSTS if you want a very unpleasant, unwelcome stay! will never be returning or recommending you!
