Tucked away on the owners’ working livestock farm, these two holiday properties (ref 29352 and 29353) form two of five sympathetic conversions of old stone barns. The farm is home to a herd of cattle, alpacas, pigs, sheep, horses and chickens (fresh eggs available). Tastefully furnished, they successfully combine the old with the new to create an ambient atmosphere for simply relaxing, touring or walking direct from the door. The local village inn serves excellent food and is a 10 minutes’ stroll away, whilst the bustling market town of Thirsk is just 4 miles away and offers a wide range of restaurants, shops, cafes and pubs, together with the James Herriot Museum and Thirsk Racecourse. Sutton Bank is renowned for its exceptional long distance panoramic views from where you may wish to watch gliders take full advantage of the strong thermals. There is easy access to two National Parks (the Yorkshire Dales and the rugged scenery of the North York Moors) and the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough. Alternatively, the quaint picturesque town of Helmsley is a short drive and the historic city of York makes for a full day out. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
