We loved the cabin location and cabin. I highly recommend this cabin. The owners are wonderful and so easy to work with.

We are already looking forward to staying at the Swim N' Bear again.

The property was very pretty

  • 3 of 5

I have to say we really enjoyed our stay here, the location was beautiful and sitting on the porches enjoying the views was wonderful. The indoor pool was so relaxing and enjoyable and just the perfect size for two people. The hot tub outside was also great. The only problem with the entire cabin and what kept me from giving it five stars is the bed, it was horrible. I laid down on it the first night and I said to my husband, I feel like I'm laying on a board and after closer inspection, that is exactly what it was. It was a tempurpedic mattress that has probably reached its end of life, it was not very thick which is typical of one that is older and they had placed a large piece of plywood underneath it to support it and once you laid down, that is all you felt. It was as if you had just thrown a mattress topper over the plywood. I think we literally slept like 3 hours off and on that first night and probably less the second. We actually considered just going out and sleeping on the couch and recliner at one point. We didn't cook any meals in the house so I can't speak to if it had all the necessary supplies for the kitchen. For as many cabins that are in that area it was so very quiet, you never heard any of your neighbors at any time. The pool table is not level which other people had written in their reviews and that is completely correct. We had no wifi the entire time we were there, it was non existent so if you are going to advertise that you have it, you may want to make sure it is actually functioning. Other than that it was great, if they were to update their bed situation I would definitely stay there again but otherwise I would have to keep looking.

Owner's Response: So glad you thought the cabin was great! As so many other folks have, it is the most rented property in the resort. I really do not agree with the three stars but I guess that is your option to do, for the money and it's amenities it certainly should rate higher than other properties. Concerning the outstanding Tempur-pedic mattress, which we receive many, many positive comments - as it is so very rare for properties to include such an expensive mattress- they are considered the best in the industry. I assure you it has a long long life left – obviously this guest prefers a firm mattress which we do not offer in this property, this particular model has a medium rating for firmness. Solid foundations are required for Tempur-pedic mattresses, you can purchase these from Tempur-pedic, which basically is a plywood foundation or you can simply apply that yourself , Which is what we choose to do. But either way a Tempur-pedic mattress has to have a solid foundation which is why there is a plywood base underneath the mattress. I would suggest for guests in the future if you need extra firm mattress you may ask a temper pedicure owner if he has a firm or medium mattress in his accommodations. Thanks

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The place is very private, super nice, everything thing that the pictures show that it is, Accept for the pool table needs some repair or needs to be replaced. It looks nice but to enjoy a game of pool is impossible because the balls roll to the corners. Seems that the table is warped or bowed in the middle. For us we enjoy to relax at the house playing pool. Other than that everything else was superb!! Would definitely recommend to anyone else. Also is very close to everything in Pigeon Forge😀

A+ Recommend!

  • 5 of 5

Just arrived home from our 6-night stay at Swim-n-Bear. I was here for Spring Break with my husband and two daughters, ages 6 and 7. This cabin was absolutely everything I hoped it would be for my first visit to the Smoky Mountains. You can trust the photos, it is exactly as pictured! As soon as we walked into the cabin, I immediately noticed how clean it was, which was important to me. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, and wish we could have spent more time in it. Didn't get to use the sauna, but my husband said it was nice and worked perfectly. The hot tub was amazing, hot, and the views were great, especially at dusk. Even though the cabin is sort of in a "subdivision" of cabins, you cannot see the others from your decks unless you go all the way to the edge, so it feels very private. We cooked a few meals in the cabin and everything basic I needed was there. A few things to note: You are provided a few basic starters, such as dish detergent and toilet paper. The ice machine wasn't working in the freezer, but there were ice trays provided. The thermostat would not go below 69. Fine for us, but may be an issue if you like it cold. ... Can't really think of any cons. My kids cried this morning because they didn't want to leave! One enjoyed the sofa bed and said it was comfortable, the other said it hurt her back and she slept in the recliner. As far as the mattress, I'm used to sleeping on an extremely SOFT bed. I was less than enthused when I first laid on the mattress to find out how firm it is. It has almost no give, BUT I had some of the best sleep on that mattress. It is firm, but (to me) was incredibly comfortable to actually sleep on. There were a lot of crews out there during the weekdays doing various work on the cabins and the roads, looked like some were installing cables underground. They seem to enjoy parking wherever they please in the roadway, so just take it easy coming up and down and around the curves. I'm trying to give as much detail as possible, but can't think of much else. We would definitely consider this cabin and/or rental company if we head that way again.

Family Vaction w/ a little one

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our 22-month-old son and totally enjoyed our stay! We were worried as we pulled into the location as the cabins were very close together. However, as we approached Swim N' Bear, we were happy that it was spaced a little further from the other cabins from what we had seen driving up to it. The swimming pool was perfect for our family and I loved the balcony outside of the bedroom with the lounge chairs looking out at the mountainside. During our stay, we enjoyed taking our son to Ober Gatlinburg to ride the tram and see the bears. Other than that, we enjoyed staying at the cabin and swimming! We will definitely be back in the future!

Could not ask for more

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I went for our honeymoon. We were truly blown away. Everything you need is right there in the cabin to the point of you hardly having to leave at all. We had a very stressful time wedding planning so it was very needed and beyond perfect. There isn't anything we could complain about and we will definitely be back. The indoor pool and the two hot tubs ( one inside, one outside) gave us all of the wind down time and relaxation we were long over due for . We enjoyed it so much we hardly left the cabin and by no means ever felt bored or like we had missed out on the "tourists" things. The view was great. Watching the the leaves change day to day right before our eyes was so cool! The difference in the colors from our first day we arrived to the day we left- breathtaking! Mr Dwayne was very helpful and answered all emails and questions we had. They are great people and great cabins!

Nice but beware of construction

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at swim n bear. The cabin is very clean and the pool and tub is wonderful. My only complaint is that there is a lot of construction going on and we were not made aware of this. The crews would roll in about 6:30 or so. The would fill the whole road up with vehicles and made it somewhat hard to get in and out. But as far as the cabin goes it was nice to stay in. The only other small problem I had was the fact I had to request my deposit back. On their website it says 7 to 14 days. It had been 3 weeks and I had to inquire about it to get it back.
