Our Wondeful Week

What a wonderful place to stay! Where to begin?? Well firstly the apartment looks gorgeous, the moment you open the door....wow! Everything was provided, Dahlia even left a lovely notebook so that we could record our memories, so kind. Some food had even been thoughtfully provided. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and the beds very comfortable. Just across the road ( literally ) there is a supermarket and a pharmacy. Public transport is only a very short stroll away. In all honesty I have to say that we would definately stay there again, without hesitation. Dahlia was extremely easy to deal with, I even called her on the way to the apartment to get directions for the taxi driver!! And as a nice touch , Mervin called and made sure we were happy with everything. An overall fabulous experience!!!

Great location, great building!

We loved the central location and quaint neighborhood. The condo was clean and spacious. We loved the fabulous rooftop and sat out several evenings with a bottle of wine enjoying the beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline.

Good for family of 4

Nice apartment, but could use a good cleaning...we found dust and hair all over, especially in the bathrooms. Both showers had sloooooow drains, to the point that we had to use the end of the fly swatter to remove huge clumps of hair....gross! And the in room heat/ac units are all or none...they literally blew freezing cold air, or nothing at all. Time for an upgrade on those. Obviously a vacation rental, as there are leftovers from other guests scattered about (especially in the kitchen...not sure about the cereal in that dispenser). Good location, just 1 subway stop from Grand Central...but getting to/from is a little sketchy at night. TV remotes non-functional and washer and dryer are super high efficiency...which means they literally take 90 min each to finish a load of wash. The place was fine for what we needed, which was good access to the city, and a place to sleep and shower. This is the only rental I've ever stayed in where we were encouraged NOT to speak to the concierge, as "short term rentals are frowned on in the building." The whole setup is kind of strange...

We loved our stay in this apartment! It suited our needs perfectly- 2 couples travelling together. The location was perf ct with supermarkets and great restaurants in walking distance! Very clean and well appointed! We loved it!!❤️

Great location and overall experience!

The apartment officially accommodated my family of five with the three kids being all 13 and under. We had enough space where we did not feel like we were on top of each other after getting in from action packed trips into Manhattan. The apartment is as described, so I congratulate the owners for being forthright! Communication with the owner was a breeze, with all responses coming back within an hour or less. We would recommend, and simply tell future prospective renters to reach all comments left prior to know exactly what you are getting. My only recommendation would be to park your car in the metered garage across the street and leave it there! There really is no point trying to navigate by car with so many transportation options so close by. Some parts of the neighborhood can be a little sketchy, which is why you are better off walking, not driving to mass transit within 5 minutes of the apartment. The building overall gets a big thumbs up from our family! - Michael and Aimee

If you want to be where the locals are you will be at the right place. Easy subway access and away from a lot of the hustle and bustle but right where you need to be to hit the city quickly. The views of the city from here are spectacular.

Our apartment is located in Long Island City, NY 11101 where the building faces the East River and Gantry State Park. At the hub, around the corner on Vernon Blvd. is a vibrant restaurant district that is only 5 minutes from Times Square via 7 train subway station three blocks away.

The new 12-acre Gantry Plaza State Park stretches along the East River waterfront with amazing facilities: 3 toddler playgrounds with sprinklers, basketball and handball courts, a sandy beach volley ball courts, a soccer field, restaurants, running and bike paths, fishing piers, and a public library (opening in 2017). From here you can experience the absolute best view of the Manhattan skyline and take the East River Ferry to trendy Williamsburg, the Brooklyn Bridge Park, and midtown/lower Manhattan. This key NYC transportation hub links Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, JFK and LaGuardia airports, and Long Island beaches by train, subway, bus, bicycle, and car.

Long Island City has emerged from a historically industrial neighborhood in the 1990s. It was discovered by artists who turned the industrial spaces into workshops and lofts and then by developers who have made it into one of the more fashionable places to rent and buy. One of the safest neighborhoods in all of NYC.
