What a wonderful place to stay! Where to begin?? Well firstly the apartment looks gorgeous, the moment you open the door....wow! Everything was provided, Dahlia even left a lovely notebook so that we could record our memories, so kind. Some food had even been thoughtfully provided. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and the beds very comfortable. Just across the road ( literally ) there is a supermarket and a pharmacy. Public transport is only a very short stroll away. In all honesty I have to say that we would definately stay there again, without hesitation. Dahlia was extremely easy to deal with, I even called her on the way to the apartment to get directions for the taxi driver!! And as a nice touch , Mervin called and made sure we were happy with everything. An overall fabulous experience!!!
Stayed in Dahlia's apartment for 4 nights while meeting some friends in NYC. The apartment is gorgeous and huge by NYC standards. It had plenty of seating in the living room, 2 bedrooms (1 that had 2 beds), and 2 full bathrooms, and all the necessary amenities to make it an effortless stay (laundry/detergent, linens, soap, dishwasher, dishes) . It was very clean upon our arrival and the location was fantastic. There was a grocery store and a few restaurants within a couple blocks, as well as a park on the Hudson with a fantastic view of the NYC skyline. Subway stop 2 blocks away. Price was very affordable being this close to the action- I would definitely stay in this apartment again and recommend to any family and friends wanting to be within 1 quick metro stop to Manhattan.
I stayed here from sept 9-14 when visiting NYC, and I have to say this place was absolutely amazing! 2 bedroom condo with a couch that folds out into a bed, it is extremely affordable for NY! It's 3 stops on the subway to Times Square, has a grocery store right across the street and has a great gym!! I will definitely stay again! For anyone looking for convenience of travel throughout New York and Times Square, this place is ideal. I will definitely stay again!
Wanted to say that we had a great stay at your place... items that made things easier for us to live there were so convenient.... 5 min walk to the nearest station that takes us to Manhattan was also great.. the market across the street and other places of interest were also of convenience.. My friends and I would stay there again! Thank you Dahlia !
The apartment was in Long Island City - which is not Manhattan (still nice, but not what we were trying to book) ... This won't be clearly noted until after the booking is paid for. The circle for the location in HomeAway/VRBO shows Upper East Side - the description shows Upper East Side. There is even an address that lists 70 Park Avenue in one of the location descriptions. As I'm writing this review the description above states "Midtown Manhattan". In reality - the property is in the Avalon building in Long Island City. The property is NOT IN MANHATTAN.
The property itself does not favor non-residents or short term stays. So much that you will receive VERY specific instructions on how to speak to the building entrance staff. If the concierge suspects that you are not a resident or actual guest staying with the owner - they will call the owner, who will in turn ask why you told the doorman you were renting (which we didn't) ... It was all a bit of work to try to keep our visit a secret from the concierge. The pool mentioned is actually NOT available, unless you are physically with the owner of the property. So leave the trunks at home.
Long Island City is actually quite nice. The apartment exactly met our needs - clean, great windows, good access to subway and local restaurants. Wifi in the apartment was also nice. If you don't mind sneaking around, hiding the fact that you don't live there, and staying NOT IN MANHATTAN - I totally recommend this property.
The location of the condo is perfect. Although, you are not in Manhattan, it takes 10 minutes or less to get to Grand Central station and a few more to Times Square. The walk to the subway is a few short blocks away and everything else you may need for your stay is a short walk away. There is a full grocery store and pharmacy across the street and a wonderful dog park, outdoor theatre, and view of the skyline just down the street. Dahlia was attentive to our questions and needs and the rooftop pool and view was also a plus! The building is pet friendly and was always clean and it is a quiet and safe neighbourhood and our family of five would recommend staying in Dahlia's condo, to anyone!
Location: We are a 'Neighborhood' featuring 'Whole-Foods- like' Food Market, Hair/Body Spa, Pharmacy (Dwayne Reed). ZAGAT Rated Restaurants. Just 5 minutes to the #7 train : 4 minutes to Grand Central Station, 8 minutes to Times Square ( Theater District.)
