Everthing was exactly as in the description. Rodrigo and his people were very helpful and always very responsive even in advance with mail or telephone. We had a great time in New York City with two adults and two children riding nearly every day with subway to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Coney Island, Long Island for sightseeing. This property is very recommendable for families and for a visit without car.
The apartment is as you look at the pictures ... you get what you see.
The apartment is ok to spend the night and stay in. Beds need replacing (really - ask if it is done if you consider the Apartment... main reason for (3) 4 stars and not 5)
It is close to the subway and from there only 15 minutes to the center. The area has its own charm, and fine experience as a contrast to stay in Manhatten Center. There is a supermarket right next door. We preferred to eat breakfast in the apartment. There were not many brunch options nearby (a single one).
Rodrigo (ovwer) is a nice guy and helpful if their are any issues.
On May 26, 2015, I paid Rodrigo a deposit to book this apartment for a 10 night stay, June 19-29. I did not actually stay at this property because less than 48 hours before my family and I flew to New York, Rodrigo emailed me and said it was not available. He offered to switch us to his friend Julie's apartment that was in the same neighborhood. So close to our holiday, and in high season, I felt I had no choice but to accept. Unfortunately things were not quite as expected. I killed cockroaches every day, and slept poorly most nights due to unsatisfactory bedding, Julie's dog barking, and Julie having a super noisy late night party. Rodrigo apologized later for the problems but blamed his friend and he did nothing to help while we were in NYC. Bottom line is that all payments, deposits, rent, refunds... went through Rodrigo. Also, he was the one who broke his promise by cancelling a reservation last minute. I asked him and his friend Julie for financial compensation but that did not happen.
I believe that Rodrigo Gonzalez is using his property #185763 to "bait" visitors coming to NYC then "switches" them to other properties that he also manages. Also he was very slow to respond to emails.
I didn't actually stay in this exact apartment, as the same owner had a more suitable option for me in a studio apartment, but as far as the location, pricing and everything goes, I loved City Life Management! Rodrigo was super nice (even though I didn't really even need him for anything during the week I stayed at their place as everything worked perfect), the apartment was clean and fully equipped and the neighborhood surprisingly peaceful, considering that it's just a couple of blocks from a bit more restless areas :)
I would definitely recommend anybody travelling to NYC on a budget to contact these people for availability.
I can't tell you enough great things about this apartment and Rodrigo! We stayed in the apartment for 10 days and it was so fantastic! When we arrived it was larger than the pictures showed it to be and it was so clean. We didn't have to worry about towels or linens...all it took was shooting Rodrigo a quick text and he was on it! The neighborhood is safe. The building was quite. We were just a couple of blocks from the L train...and the walk was so nice. The coffee shop on the corner before the train is so cute and the staff was so friendly. And for the late night walks home the gyro truck was so delicious. I will no doubt stay here again. Thank you so much Rodrigo!
This was a great place to stay!I chose to stay in a vacation rental because i wanted my kids to experience living in a neighborhood in New York. It was cute, clean and neat. right around the corner from the grocery store. just across the street from a beautiful catholic church that had english, spanish and polish mass. This is a working class neighborhood and the neighbors were friendly. The subway is a short walk away and this place really was a great place to relax after a day in the city. Rodrigo was very nice and accomidating. If I had to improve on anything it would be the cable. Better cable would've been nice, I really wanted to watch CNN when we got home or watch a movie on cable sometimes. Parking- make sure you read the signs carefuly before you park, "No Standing" means dont park there (we got towed) Other than that I would definately reccomend this place to anyone traveling to New York. I give it 4 1/2 stars Thanks Rodrigo! Dallas, Texas June 2011
The apartment is located in Ridgewood, a nice, safe, residential neighborhood on the border of (Bushwick) Brooklyn and Queens. We have a supermarket steps from the apartment, a restaurant-cafe a block away and a grocery store 150 feet away. There is also free street parking. The commute to Manhattan is very convenient. We are just 3 blocks (4 minute walk) from the subway (L train) and 8 stops from 14Th Street Union Square (Manhattan). The L train takes less than 2 min per stop, so you'll be in Manhattan (Union Square, Chelsea, East Village, West Village, Soho, Gramercy Flatiron) in 15 to 20 minutes.
