About Edward Blanchard
My family and I built this cabin in 1989 to have a place to spend time together in all seasons. It has been a wonderful place to have Thanksgiving, 4th of July celebrations, foliage and other times.
Edward Blanchard purchased this Cabin in 1989
Why Edward Blanchard chose Eden
We grew up in Vermont but left the state many years ago. This allowed us to have a place in Vermont again.
What makes this Cabin unique
It is so private and we always liked being off the grid, even more important in todays world.

Beautiful, remote cabin
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Eden East. The trees were at their peak of color during our stay (October 4-9, 2018). Cabin was cozy and comfortable. We loved going out on the pond in the canoe. Colors were amazing around the pond! Thanks for having a couple of Texans in Yankee territory!
Outstanding off-grid cabin
If you want true rest and relaxation, away from any life pressures, this is your place. Canoeing, walking, swimming (even in autumn), cosy log burner, gas lights and candles, wildlife, games and books. -what more could you need for a real relax? This place is truly special.
Thank you Joy for your comments about my camp. I know you were looking for a quiet get away and I am glad this met your expectations.
Perfect Cottage in the woods and on Gut Pond
We had a wonderful 2.5 day mini-moon stay after our wedding. We knew we were going to need a place to relax and not have any distractions!!!--- And Ed's cabin fit our needs perfectly!! We loaded our car with leftovers from the entire festivities of our wedding, sweatpants and sweatshirts, our comfy sleeping pillows, books, coloring books, our camera and our folding camp rocking chairs which came in handy on the deck overlooking the pond. Our expectations were to nap, paddle and just relax, which is exactly what we did. We saw no one, we did not drive anywhere, we did take a few walks down the dirt road but we encountered nothing but nature. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and the peacefulness of the area. The cabin had everything we needed and was plenty comfortable for the two of us. We will be back soon (we hope!!) This is the kind of place you will want to visit again and again.
Great get away, was hard too leave!! Thank you Ed so much !
We fell in love with this cabin. It was all we hoped for and more. The pond water was so clean and a perfect temperature for swimming. The dock was very secluded and peaceful. We enjoyed canoeing around the pond spotting turtles, loons, and beavers. The screened in porch was perfect for afternoon naps in the rain, playing games, reading, or just enjoying our surroundings. The hike down to the dock was a little challenging, don't attempt in flip flops. But all in all this is a perfect get away from it all kind of a place. We will definitely be back!
I am so happy that you and your partner enjoyed Eden. It is indeed the place to get away from it all. Easy to relax and unplug. Next year reservations are coming in already so plan ahead!
Shhhhhhh...not only because this is a wonderfully peaceful, quiet place to stay, but because we don’t want to let too many in on the secret!
My husband and I enjoyed several days at the camp and hope to return soon. If you love privacy and the beauty of nature, you’ll love staying at the camp. Watch the beavers swimming by to check you out. Listen to the loons calling. Feel the breeze blowing on the deck and the screened-in porch. Smell the rustling pine trees. Taste your charcoal-grilled hot dogs.
Thank you, Ed, for sharing your camp!
Larry and Sue,
The things you most enjoyed at the camp, the quiet and connection to nature are what most renters comment on. I am happy that you found my special place to be one of yours too.
Beautiful area in the Vt foothills, near many boating opportunities, the Long trail, Jay Peak etc. 35 minutes from Stowe with numerous shopping and dinner opportunities. Restful quiet get away at the camp. watch sunsets over the pond enjoy rain on the tin roof!
