Villa Alba is a recently restored old Istrian house with a capacity for 6 persons. In the renovation some original elements such as stone walls and wooden beams on the ceiling were kept in order to preserve the rustic feel. This is a great place to relax while hidden from the crowds, yet still in touch with the modern benefits, because the house offers everything a today’s man needs: WiFi, air condition, an equipped kitchen, cozy furniture… The outside part of the house is as great as the inside and it has a wonderful terrace with a swimming pool in two levels and an eye- relaxing vista. The experience wouldn't be complete without the terrace where you can have a swim in the pool and enjoy a truly astonishing view. Villa Alba is placed in a quiet part of a small central Istrian village and it’s completely surrounded by nature giving you privacy and tranquility..
Lovely Istria purchased this villa in 2015
It is a beautiful location surrounded by the calm and nature
Charming, romantic ...
This is a truly beautiful house, with fantastic views of the valley, while nestled into the lovely Istrian countryside. The house has been sympathetically renovated, maintaining the original charm of the old house. The Owners were really friendly and helpful, and on arrival made us feel like we were old friends staying in their beautiful house. The house and pool/pool area are beautifully furnished, and well thought out. The location is idyllic, with walks straight from the door (Parenzana Railway Track Route for example). The historical hill top town of Motovun is only 10min drive away, the nearest supermarkets approx. 25mins drive away. The lovely town of Rovinj 50mins, Pula 1hour drive away, yet when you are in the house you feel like you are miles from anything. We can totally recommend this house.
Livade are reffered to as the home of the Istrian truffle, where there is a Festival of the Truffle held every year. The Mirna valley and its surroundings are a rich wildlife location. Another interesting fact: in the early 20th century a railway called „Parenzana“ used to pass through Livade and that was important for the people of these parts because it connected them with the cities on the western Istrian coast. It lost its function long ago, but today it's used as a very accessible path for walkers and cyclists.
There is so many nearby places worth visiting and here are a few: Grožnjan, a small town with art galeries (one of them was a 14th century smithy, the oldest in Istria); Završje, with amazingly preserved medieval architecture; Oprtalj, praised by the food and wine lovers; in the end there is Motovun, the best preserved medieval town in Istria. Motovun is quiet and calm during the winter, but in summer months it becomes a crowded place that offers various events of culture and entertainment, such as the Motovun Film Festival, hot air baloon races, wine festivals or paragliding competitions.
