Located in a true oasis of peace and tranquillity, Villa Margherita Tre is a sweet indipendent villa with private pool offering breathtaking views over the hills surrounding the sought after town of Cortona as well as unbeatable value for money.
With 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and carefully furnished interiors in typical Tuscan style, the villa is a perfect retreat for a couple or a small family seeking a truly Italian holiday.
This property is surrounded by extensive woods with chestnut trees and valleys and is therefore the ideal destination for those who appreciate the colors and scents of the Tuscan country-side while at the same time wish to visit the beautiful cities of the area such as the charming Cortona and Arezzo as well as Umbria with its waterfalls and lakes.
The lovely owner Margherita runs a traditional restaurants a few steps away from the villa: the perfect choice for all those guests that don't want to venture out to taste delicious Tuscan meals.
This stone-built villa is set over 2 floors connected by an internal staircase. On the ground floor there are a fully equipped kitchen with adjoining dining area, a spacious lounge with fireplace, satellite TV, sofa and panoramic views, a spacious twin bedroom with a shower room.
Upstairs there are a further bedroom (double) and a second shower room.
Outside, the newly added swimming pool (with an additional and pleasant waterfall feature) provides a privileged observation point to admire the unspoilt surrounding contryside. Sunbeds, parasols, table and chairs for al-fresco dining are provided.
An absolutely wonderful place! From the moment we arrived (and we were early) to the moment we said goodbye, we were treated with warmth and made to feel like part of the extended family.
Marghertia is a wonderful hostess and an awesome cook. The rest of the family are just a welcoming.
We really enjoyed the relaxing quiet and gorgeous scenery.
Give this place a 10star rating!!!
We have just returned from a wonderful two weeks in this charming villa and would love to be back there enjoying the amazing views! The villa is just as lovely as the photos suggest and the area speaks for itself. The little restaurant next door is perfectly placed for a relaxing evening of good food and wonderful local wine, all charmingly served by the lady that looks after the villa. There are three other rented villas in the group but we never ever felt crowded or overlooked at all - quite the opposite. The whole feeling is one of peace, quiet and relaxation. I really cannot recommend this lovely little place enough and would dearly love to return!!!
A great place to stay if you want to just chill, and enjoy the stunning view and sunset. We stayed with our 12 and 5yr old and whilst we might opt for a bit bigger next time, the property was perfectly acceptable especially having two bathrooms. The pool was great after a hot august day trip and the kids enjoyed it.
Just two things to note regarding the description, there is a washing machine but it isn't in the property. Also, there's no wi-if signal, if you go out of the gate and walk 10 yards up the road you can pick it up! House was clean, well looked after and had all we needed. Owner Margherita and family were lovely and we ate at their restaurant x2 I can recommend the vino casa. They were very helpful when my oldest needed to go to hospital following a hornet sting.
A bit of a drive but the thermal springs at bagno vignoni at the base of the tiny town are a free spa treat (follow the trail of locals in flip flops and swimmers to find them) follow this by a drive back to montepulciano for fantastic red wine and amazing hilltop views truly spectacular.
Thank you to margherita and her son for a fantastic week in this lovely property! We loved everything: location, views, pool, furniture, atmosphere. A holiday to remember, in a great villa at a very reasonable price. Went for dinner a few times to the restaurant run by the owners and loved it, not to be missed. Also Cortona, with its Medieval center, is just a short drive away. Cannot fault, all perfect. See you soon again!
It was very nice and quiet. What a wonderful place for relaxing. The restaurant of the owner was excellent! Very, very nice owners, where no question was too much. The house itself is very small but you'll find everything you need. Also the terrace is very small. The little swimming pool (North) is usually half in the shade and is therefore very cold. There is no promised privacy. We had specifically asked for a very private situated house but, that it is certainly not the case. Also, the Internet connection is very bad. Reason for us after 1 week to move to another house. I'm sorry that we didn't get what was promised (although I specifically requested it). This has cost us a lot of money.
The hills surrounding Cortona are a true heaven of peace, with green trees, glorious sunny days and refreshing breezes during the summer evenings. Our villa is located within easy reach of the town center (which is a few minutes drive away), with its fantastic restaurants and traditional shops, as well as the Trasimeno Lake for sunbathing and swimming opportunities. Therefore this is the perfect location for a truly Tuscan holiday close to the most famous art cities (Siena, Florence, Cortona, Arezzo, but also Rome and Perugia) as well as to the beautiful and uspoilt forests of Central Italy.
