Overview

Boothbay Harbor Area House Rental Photos and Description

3 BRs & 3 full baths; rec room with pool table, piano & futon; sleeps 8+

This unique home, built in 1990 for its owners, is nestled in a very private woodsy setting. You'll love the deck & patio out back (without pesky mosquitoes--the SkeeterEater really works), the pond in front, and gardens, birds and fireflies all around. You're just a little over a mile from Route 1 but you'll never know it. Great place to relax at the end of a busy day exploring Maine's mid-coast area. Perfect for extended families or 3-4 couples. It boasts a full-sized slate pool table, 2 libraries, and a piano. Musicians built this house so there is sound in almost every room and thousands of CDs to enjoy. Large fully-equipped kitchen; the beds are new and comfy. In Autumn, the sugar maples around the home explode in crimson, orange and yellow.

Suitability:
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets considered
  • wheelchair accessible

A Beautiful and Restful House

  • 5 of 5

We last stayed in Freedom Song House in July 2014 and liked it so much we came back this year. We come from the UK and can say it's well worth coming the 2,500 miles to holiday here. We wrote a review back in July 2014 and all the positive things about this house remain. If anything it seems to have got better! It's a beautiful house, so much room, so well cared-for and so peaceful. It's almost incredible when you are in it to think that you are literally 3 or 4 minutes drive away from Route 1 which takes you to so many of Eastern Maine's attractions. The house is in a huge and attractive plot and is completely secure and private, so you get a real feeling of peace and seclusion. The wildlife in the gardens is great, especially the birds, and we were lucky enough to be there this year as a mother wild turkey was showing her new-born chicks around. The house itself is excellently equipped, with an enormous CD/vinyl collection for you to use, and the full-size pool table in the games room. Becki is the nicest and most helpful owner you could wish for, and makes everything so straightforward. We have stayed here twice now, and seem sure to be back again. Without doubt this is a place to rent with confidence and we'd recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

Private, wooded setting, but convenient location

  • 5 of 5

This place is ideally located for exploring the Maine coast. It's an immaculate home, with every convenience, and easily accommodates a big family. Very private wooded setting, with a beautiful yard. Everything was clearly labeled, and there were lots of maps, directions, suggestions, etc. so it was easy to settle in. Super easy reservation and prompt communications. Hope we can come again for a longer visit!

Made my wedding week perfect

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I got married in Wiscasset this month. We rented this house to stay in with our wedding party during the week before the wedding. From the initial conversations with Becki, she was sweet, accessible and SO accommodating and helpful. She answered all questions and even took additional pictures of the property and house for us. The house itself was beautiful and spacious. There was plenty of room for us all to feel comfortable and and have privacy. The house was fully stocked with towels, soap, shampoo extra sheets, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, condiments, etc. The yard was also amazing. We had plenty of room for lawn games and sitting on the patio drinking coffee in the morning. We really felt like we were home. It was hard to leave and I would recommend this home for any family or group of friends looking for a home away from home.

The Perfect House For A Maine Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in this house two years in a row and will book again when we return to Maine. We love staying here. It is the perfect house. It is centrally located. We drove south to Kennebunkport and north to Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula. It is beautifully landscaped and located in a quiet, secluded area but only minutes from town. It is spacious and has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. I am always nervous about renting a house online. I always look for a property with many excellent reviews and hope for the best. If you are like me and want reassurance that you are renting a quality home, you can't go wrong by renting Freedomsong House.

Labor Day Wedding Weekend

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic house! We came up from NC for a wedding and picked this house because of its central location and because we love Wiscasset. We went to Portland, Freeport, Boothbay and all the way up to Castine.

The house is gorgeous and had EVERYTHING we needed. We enjoyed the music library immensely and played pool almost non-stop! There were a lot of us in and out as different groups came by, but we never felt crowded. The house is spacious and 3 full baths kept everyone happy! Even when we were all getting ready for the wedding in the morning, it was not a problem.

Our last day there was on the warm side but the nights were comfortable. Tons of windows that all open easily and fans in every room keep the house cool.

Becki was wonderful to work with. I would love to meet her in person! We all said that this was a "happy house!" Good vibes. I highly recommend this house and would love to come back!

Cannot say enough about this wonderful rental!!!

  • 5 of 5

We just got home and I have to say that this has to be the nicest home we have stayed in. It is EXTREMELY well stocked. My family spent most of the week going through the extensive record and CD collection. We are not really homebodies but there was enough to do in the home to keep us here for most of the week! The beds were extremely comfortable, you didn't need air conditioning because there are so many windows and the home stayed nice and cool! The grounds are beautiful and QUIET! I loved sitting outside on the deck and listening to the water from the pond/fountain. We spent time at the Pemaquid lighthouse, went whale watching in Boothbay Harbor, explored Camden and when it rained we went shopping in Freeport. This home is extremely well situated between all the wonderful Maine towns. The farthest we had to go was Camden and that was no more than 45 minutes.

I ate lots of lobster rolls. I ate at Red's, Pemaquid Lighthouse cafe, and a little deli in Camden and I have to say that even though Red's had A LOT of lobster, I liked the Pemaquid Lighthouse cafe the best.

The traffic on Route 1 can get a bit heavy at times, especially passing Red's in Wiscasset but it wasn't so bad that it wasn't moving.

The house has very reliable wifi which was nice because AT&T doesn't get service at the house. They have local and long distance included in the home which made it easy to keep in touch with the family.

Becki was a joy to work with and we would not hesitate to come back to this home. I can honestly say that I have never thought that about any rental home we have stayed in. I have recommended it to my friends.
