Aloha Jeana and Justin,
We just wanted to thank you again for our time at Hale Ho'omana Retreat... it was a great blessing for us and an extraordinary beginning to our pilgrimage and time with Ram Dass.
May you be richly blessed as you offer your hospitality to the world!

Everything we needed was there in a comfortable, clean room stocked with goodies. Great, affordable spot for anyone wanting to do Haleakala, the beach, and the road to Hana. I highly recommend! The sweet kids next door were a big bonus for our four year old. Mahalo!
A trip to Hawaii is always an exciting thing, but when you stay here, you are at 2800 ft elevation with wonderful privacy and quiet! The cottage was great for our purposes. The kitchen is small, but workable. There is no stove, so don't plan on baking cookies or dinner. The microwave was great for heating up leftovers. The night sky let us look at so many stars! It was such a relaxing vacation! Jeanna and her crew did an amazing job to make sure we had everything we needed. There is no air conditioning, but the fan kept the air circulating and keeping it cool in the cottage. Extra towels were always there for that trip to the beach, and they even had beach chairs available for us to use. This is a great place if you are looking to stay upcountry and want peace and quiet. The closest beaches are about a 20 minute drive. Thanks so much for my relaxing vacation!
For those people like ourselves, who like the more rustic/country style of accomodation, then Ho'omana spa is a great alternative. Simple quiet, cool, self contained where breakfast is supplied( fresh fruit, juice, Danish) although we did add cereal & yogurt of our own. Township of Makawao just 10 minutes down the hill with a good restaurant Casanova, where we had 2 dinners. Good location to explore the Island, being in the middle so we could drive west & east & see all the best spots
The owners right next door were great. We loved their three kids 9, 6, 4. The kids gave us a tour of the grounds, picked some loquat (?) small yellow fruit for us and showed us how to eat it. They picked an orange for us, a couple avocados and some kind of squash. All was great. Owners provided some drinks in the fridge as well as some oranges. And ground coffee was there waiting. Very nice and thoroughly enjoyed our short four day stay there. There is a spa there as well but we didn't take advantage of that opportunity. Our only regret is we only saw the 3 kids the first day, we were looking forward to interacting with them some more. Also was nice that the door had a lighted keypad lock so no key to carry around. Solar outdoor lights lit up the path and steps to the door.
This place is a hidden gem. We wanted a trip to Maui without all the heavy tourist stuff. This was the place for us. About 20 minutes to Paia and wonderful beaches and 45 minutes out of Lahina. The grounds were beautiful and staff on hand amazing. We got hot stone massages on our first day and WOW. AMAZING.
If you want to have a Maui stay that's quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle, this is for you.
We will definitely be back next year.
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful setting upcountry. If you're looking for a different experience of Maui this is it. Away from the heat ,crowds and traffic congestion that has become the island. It was refreshing to wake up every morning in this garden setting and have breakfast on the lanai to the sound of birds. The cottage was clean but the kitchen is very minimal. One thing that was missing was a comfortable chair or love seat to sit on. Overall though we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had great fun exploring the beautiful upcountry .
Located Close to Makawao Forest Reserve, Pi'iholo Ranch and Pi'iholo Zipline.
