About Sue Wesley

I've recently just married and my husband and I live in a pretty village in Warwickshire, near Stratford-upon-Avon. We both have demanding jobs so really enjoy escaping to our Apartment in beautiful Beer as often as we can - we just love its peace and tranquility. Perfect to recharge the batteries

Sue Wesley purchased this apartment in 2008

Why Sue Wesley chose Beer

We discovered this great Apartment whilst on holiday one year and set about transforming it to a comfortable and relaxing home environment. Since buying the property we come back and visit as often as possible - mainly out of season in Spring and Autumn when we enjoy long walks to Branscombe and taking in the fresh sea air

What makes this apartment unique

Beer village is the perfect base to explore the local East Devon region, yet it offers all the amenities you could want on the doorstep. The locals are friendly and welcoming and the Apartment is light, fresh and airy. We think it has all the extra touches that will make your stay so relaxing and enjoyable

Simply Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We booked Durham House for our 'mini-moon', as a short break after our wedding. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The apartment has everything you could possibly need and is in a perfect location to enjoy all that Beer and the surrounding area has to offer.

Booking was very straightforward and Sue, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with from the start and made us feel very welcome.

The only thing we didn't like was having to leave to come home!!

Beautiful & Perfectly located in Beer, ideally for coastal walks and relaxing time

  • 4 of 5

This was our re-visit to this apartment, all I can say is that both times we have stayed here and visited Beer we have had such an amazing and relaxing time, the apartment has a real homely feel, it has everything your need for your stay, perfect location, we enjoy being able to park our car and not have to drive anywhere, many places to eat and drink after a daily costal walk, coal fire for those cool evenings in front of the t.v with a choice of films and a glass of bubbly!!!! Already looking for dates to revisit asap :-) Sue Thank you so much!!!

Lovely property - cosy, close to the sea and well appointed .

  • 5 of 5

Had a fabulous weekend stay with my partner. Weather forecast was dreadful but turned out ok so made it even more enjoyable. We really liked the central position and having facilities close by. Very comfortable and everything we need was there. We would definitely recommend and look forward to going back again before too long.

Perfect location in a beautiful village near the sea.

  • 5 of 5

I love coming to Beer. I have visited since 2012 and try to come a couple of times each year. There is plenty to do around Beer but sometimes I just like to sit at the beach cafés or in the deck chairs and read and listen to the sea. This trip was about a weekend to chill. The apartment is cosy with everything you need and I made good use of the open fire. I didn't eat at any of the lovely restaurants in the village. I cooked in the apartment.

I visited near by Seaton and the donkey sanctuary, which I always do when I come to Beer, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth are also a 20-25 minute drive away. Can't wait to come back again.

Excellent apartment in middle of Beer

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time in Beer, which is a charming seaside village. Durham House is a delightful converted apartment, it is well equipped and comfortable. Situated right in the middle of the village within easy walking distance of sea and some lovely restaurants and galleries. For October we were exceptionally lucky with the weather (sadly we didn't need to light the original fire which must be very cosy) and enjoyed some great walks with tremendous views. A great base for exploring the Jurassic coast, we hope to return!

Durham House Apartment was very comfortable and well appointed.

Located in the centre of Beer with super cliff walks in both directions, and very good eating places close by. A holiday we shall remember for a long while.

Beer fishing village is the perfect base to explore the East Devon Jurassic Coast. You'll find an unspoilt and traditional seaside environment devoid of 'Kiss me Quick' hats, but full of friendly people, fabulous pubs and restaurants. It also boasts two stylish art galleries, tea shops and quaint seaside cottages and thatched houses

There is an excellent coastal bus service which you can pick up just opposite the Apartment . This takes the coastal route to the historic cathedral City of Exeter in one direction and delightful Lyme Regis in Dorset, in the other. The glorious Cobb Harbour is worth a visit and has had a starring role in such films as Persuasion and The French Lieutentnat's Woman

For local services, shopping and sightseeing, both Seaton town and Victorian Sidmouth are just a 10 min drive away

Beer also boasts the fantastic Quarry Caves and Pecorama, a model railway treasure trove, with beautiful gardens and model railways for children and adults alike

Bicton Garden is a delightful botanical garden about a 15 minute drive away, close to the pretty neighbouring village of Budleigh Salterton
