About Andrew and Ann Gilmour

Andrew and Ann bought and refurbished Willow Farm and its outbuildings 30 years ago. It has been an ongoing labour of love for us. The cottage shares 4 acres of grounds and was completely refurbished in 2015.

We like to see our guests enjoy Willow Farm, the village and surrounding area. We respect your privacy but can provide you with any information you may need to enhance your stay

Andrew and Ann Gilmour purchased this barn in 1986

Why Andrew and Ann Gilmour chose Woodbridge

Our guests love the outlook from the cottage over the water meadows and the south and west facing aspects. With the ability to walk to 2 local pubs for a drink or great food and enjoy the picturesque and quiet location.

Woodbridge is a short drive away for restaurants, cinema and riverside walks. For the more adventurous it is a lovely walk to Woodbridge along the river and a short taxi ride back after supper!

Less than 20 minutes away is the famed Heritage coast where most visitors enjoy Orford, Snape, Aldeburgh, Thorpe Ness, Dunwich, Southwold and Framlingham.

What makes this barn unique

The cottage is nestled in the extensive gardens of Willow farm. Our guests appreciate the spacious cottage and the balance between an old barn and a contemporary finish. They comment on the efforts we have made to cater for their every need.

Walking around the area of the village is a joy and there are 2 great pubs serving food a short walk away.

A homely cottage set in an idyllic location.

  • 4 of 5

When we arrived at the cottage we were not disappointed , the surroundings were perfect and even though set within the owners home it felt private. The cottage was well equipped and it felt home from home, having an en-suit in the bedrooms was a bonus. The village is very pretty and quaint & we were making new discoveries every day. The owners made us welcome, and then left us to enjoy our break. Overall a beautiful place to go and we would definitely go back.

Lovely Quiet Cottage - Amazing Gardens - Very Considerate Owners

  • 5 of 5

I booked Willow Farm Cottage as I was looking for a quiet week away with my Mum. I have stayed in many self catering cottages and have quite high standards of what I want and expect from a holiday let and am pleased to confirm that this cottage ranks among the best. The owners have provided everything that you could want, including the usefuls like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, loo rolls, the things you don't really want to have to rush out and buy after a long journey. In addition there were helpful notes on how to operate things like the shower and TV's which was much more friendly than just being left a user manual. There were also many thoughtful touches like a multi way charger for all appliances, a hair dryer etc. The linen is of excellent quality and the towels are soft and fluffy, and as for the garden, it's an absolute delight. There are so many places to sit and just enjoy the peace and quiet and it's thoughtfully laid out, and lit in many places by small solar lights making it lovely even in the dark. We had a lovely week and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Willow Farm Cottage. My thanks for the loan of your delightful property and as there are still many parts of Suffolk we didn't explore we both hope to return again.

Beautifully aspected barn accommodation - lawns, ponds with countryside beyond.

  • 5 of 5

Andrew was very welcoming, and the accommodation fully lived up to our expectations, with everything to a good standard and all that you would need for a week's self catering.

The extensive gardens were beautiful and peaceful, with wildlife to spot in the evening whilst eating outside on the decking as the sun set - bell ringers at the distant church adding to the charm one evening.

I don't often write reviews - but as our wonderful week in Suffolk was enhanced by this quality accommodation, then I felt that it deserved some time. We are looking forward to booking again for our next visit. Andrew.

Tranquil, Beautiful, Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly modernised barn with amenities for a family or a group .I enjoyed 3 nights with my children for a good experience but Willow Farm exceeded my expectations and proceeded with an amazing memory . Listening to birds , rabbits freely wandering the acres of land and squirrels . Herds of cows in the fields close by. Highly recommend this attractive getaway.

Charming stay

  • 5 of 5

Willow farm is a charming stay in beautiful grounds. The barn is very welcoming and cosy with all the facilities that you could ask for whilst the gardens leave lots to explore and discover. The bedrooms are light and comfortable and relaxing with the added luxury of ensuite bathrooms. Andrew and Ann are lovely hosts with lots of local advice and knowledge. Would recommend a stay here to anyone and am hoping to book again!
