About Camp Beech: Camp Beech, our waterfront home is a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This is our vacation house. A neighbor best described the experience by saying 'time moves slowly on Lower Beach Pond'. The lake is very quiet, filled with wildlife (rainbow trout, brown trout, small and large mouth bass for fishing and a loon family we see daily). We even saw a moose swimming last year! Our home is great for relaxation, reading a book on the deck, lying in the sun or hammock, water sports or visiting North Conway's outlets for some retail therapy (35 mins away) and the town of Wolfeboro for fine dining or shopping (10 mins away). In addition to our shoreline property, there are 2 Hidden Valley Association beaches you will have access to which are great for family days, building sand castles and swimming, both are a few minutes walking distance. Bring your racket because there are tennis courts in the association. We hope you enjoy your stay and go home very relaxed!
About the Lake: Our home is located in a small, private community in Tuftonboro NH called Hidden Valley. Our vacation home is located on Lower Beach Pond which is a small Oligotrophic lake with a sandy bottom. Wikipedia defines these lakes 'to have low algal production and often have very clear waters, with high drinking-water quality.' There is a maximum of 10 horsepower boats on the lake. More common, however, to the water are canoes, sail boats, fisherman, and swimmers. Paddling around on surfboards is our preferred method of water transportation. What is yours? Swimming across the lake is also a fantastic way to start your day! We have a large floating cedar raft roughly 35-40ft from shore for relaxing and lying in the sun. Another attraction is Camp William Lawrence, a boys camp that my husband attended, see their website below. If the wind is just right, you can barely make out revelry at 7:30 AM signaling the beginning of another wonderful day for the campers and for you at Camp Beech
Special Referral Offer: If you have visited Camp Beach or are visiting this site and believe someone you know would like to rent our home, please email Carl. If your friends stay at our house during the off season, we will be happy to send you a $100 referral fee after their stay. Please make sure whoever is staying with us drops your name so we can thank you appropriately after their stay.
People who are often are able to stay with us during the off peak season would be those without school aged children and retirees. The nice thing about the off season, such as the beginning of June, or Mid September through October, is that many of the tourists have left, the lake is warm, the weather if often breath taking, and you'll be lucky to see ANYONE on the lake. It's just that quiet and private!
So if you fall into the category of being able to rent in the off season, take advantage of even greater peace and quiet.
Our family enjoyed our return visit to the lake-house. Carl & Erika a true to the description of what they offer and truly go out of their way to make the stay the best it can be, from the home's amenities to great communication before, during and after the stay. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway to spend some good family time together, this is the place to be. If you like a little hustle & bustle, that's a blink away in Wolfeboro. If a balance between the two is what you seek, then this is the perfect solution for you. We could easily go on, but you will just have to experience it for yourself. Our family loved it and hope you will too.
We just returned from our wonderful week at Lower Beech Pond. This lake house was everything that was promised by Carl and Erika.
The house was very clean and comfortable, the beds comfortable, the wood floors beautiful, and the kitchen easy to work in. The wall of sliding glass doors overlooking the water open to beautiful breezes and a great view.
It was as quiet as promised, which was a wonderful change from normal life, and made sleeping easy. We didn't see one mosquito for the entire week.
Right down the street is a public (limited to association members and guests) beach area that is easier for small children and older people to use - and we used both. We had one rain day, and enjoyed the big screen TV in the living room, the ping pong table and board games.
Downtown Wolfeboro is a short ride through beautiful countryside, and we enjoyed the shopping and ice cream cones with the lake view. My daughter found several gorgeous blouses at great prices, and the antique stores were especially fun. One evening, we drove to Moultonborough and had a live Jazz-trio dinner at Castle in the Clouds on the rose covered stone patio.
We have already recommended this vacation rental to two different friends, and I know they'd have a great time. Carl was very honest and great to communicate with via email. Thank you again, and we hope to see you again next year!!

We just returned from a perfect vacation – the weather, the Camp Beech lake house and the location couldn’t have been better! Carl and Erika’s home is wonderful – right on the most peaceful lake we have ever experienced. Every morning it was a treat to canoe around the lake with hardly a soul in sight – except for a family of loons! We were lucky enough to have great weather and enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear lake every day. The house is exactly as described – very well equipped, updated throughout, very comfortable beds and the absolute best screened porch! We visited Wolfeboro numerous times for lunch and dinner (Garwood’s, East of Suez); went to Meredith for shopping and eats (Lago); and even did a shopping trip to North Conway (had dinner at Flatbread’s – the pizza around). We also went to Castle in the Clouds for their Jazz at Sunset Dinner – fantastic! Camp Beech is a real gem!
Our first time to New Hampshire for a friends getaway and we found ourselves on Lower Beech Pond for Memorial Day weekend. The house was exceptionally clean, fully stocked with all the essentials, and the beds were undeniably comfortable! Carl and Erika take very good care of this place and it shows.
Unfortunately, it rained pretty much our entire weekend but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. We explored Wolfeboro, had lunch at El Centenario and grabbed coffee from Downtown Grill- the best Blueberry Cobbler Latte I have ever had! We even had to stop to grab lattes on our way to the airport they were so good. The sun came out for a little each day and we were able to sneak in two hikes. We hiked the Italian Trail on Mt. Shaw one day and the White Ledge Trail in the White Mountains another. The White Ledge Trail was an amazing hike with spectacular views from 2,000 ft elevation. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for some great adventure. My friend even carried her 9 month old baby the entire 4.2 miles! Make sure to pack lots of snacks and water.
We enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinner together at the cabin, using the grill, playing ping pong and we even played a very intense game of pictionary.
I can't imagine how much more beautiful this place would be with warm, sunny weather! We would love to come back one year and actually enjoy swimming in the lake.
Thanks Carl and Erika!
Our family spent a very relaxing week in this fabulous lakeside cottage. Very well equipped with all upscale amenities. The location is very quiet and private: we really enjoyed our time to unwind. We hope to return again next year! Thank you, Carl and Erika!
My family and I just returned from a great week at Camp Beach and we LOVED every minute of it! First - Carl and Erika are top-notch owners that clearly take pride in their property and being excellent hosts.
When we arrived the house was EXACTLY as described. Every room was clean and well-appointed.
The highlights for us were the screened-in porch (perfect any time of day or night), the loft and the vaulted ceiling in the living room. The shore provided ample activities for several days with swimming, fishing and kayaking (we brought ours).
As far the location - it is set away from anything busy and is very private. Most of the week felt like we were the only ones on the lake. Mornings are best if you rise early. I did hear reveille one morning coming from the camp nearby. It was a most relaxing time to sit and drink our coffee and admire where we were.
In terms of what we did - we are a family with 2 young children (3 1/2 and 1 1/2) and they had a BLAST! We visited StoryLand (1 hour), Clarks Trading Post (1 hour 20 minutes), Castle in the Clouds (20 minutes - HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and Weirs Beach (50 minutes). All were very enjoyable. There is a Hannafords Supermarket about 15 minutes away. Downtown Wolfeboro (10 minutes) is also extremely quaint with nice restaurants and a great way to see the big Lake (Winnie). We also took advantage of the beach down the road (a short walk) and met a couple of nice families that live nearby - it is a very nice community.
One very small thing to note - there is no microwave, so if you have little ones like us that rely on a microwave for a quick snack or meal, prepare yourself accordingly. Not a huge deal, but thought it was worth a mention.
Overall, I cant say enough good things about our experience from the owners to the property, itself. Thank you Carl and Erika!!

We feel that we do not have a lot of competition at our price point. For those willing to spend $3000 a week, that will buy you a different home. For those who do not want to spend at that level, you will find out home to be clean and updated. Our home is on one of the cleanest bodies of water in the lakes region, and there is very limited boat traffic making for a relaxing and quiet environment
