Nestled into the French countryside with beautiful views of the mountains of the Massif Central and the Puy De Dome lies our 17th Century granite farmhouse. Two large double bedrooms, one French double bedroom, two bathrooms, rustic kitchen and a grand living room - the main house sits in 2.5 acres of its own gardens and pastures but also provides all mod cons including high speed internet and even a huge Home Cinema with thousands of films. Guests are assured a tranquil and calming holiday in our unpretentious and thoroughly relaxing home.
There is also a simple rustic cottage on the land which has a double bedroom for guests if necessary. This also has a small living room with ancient bread oven and gorgeous views.

I have to say I love the city life but have always wanted to own my own place somewhere far from it. I have always known it would be France, but this particular area I discovered while looking for a place to shoot a film. It just stuck in my heart. So we could say it was a coup de foudre.
We love going there because it's so genuine, off the beaten track, unchanged for generations and unspoiled. It is truly La France Profunde,
Another pro was the dignified history of masonry in the area, and this property, as well as all the others in the region, are evidence of it.
Everybody who stayed here mentioned how calming and soothing the place, the climate and the surroundings are. I hope you will come by and see for yourself.
Wonderful views, lots of nature, great walks and numerous large comfortable sofas. A huge range of music, books and films available to enjoy. Secluded on the edge of a small hamlet but within a few minutes of a large town with all the amenities.
This is a beautiful and very well-maintained cottage in a lovely rural location, that is also close to amenities. Lots to see and do in the area, though time is well spent just sitting in the garden, admiring the landscape, and the changing skies.
Lots of charm, wood-fired heating and a large cinema screen
My family and I were very happy we found this place. Michael's house feels so much like a home! We took long walks, went swimming in the lakes nearby, visited the old villages of Aubusson, Chambon and Evaux les Bain. If you don't feel like going too far and just relaxing, the view from the garden, while lying on a long chair sipping on a lovely (and not expensive) French wine is exquisite. Definitely check out the huge movie collection, with everything from contemporary Danish films to English classics. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our stay in this converted farmstead. Surrounding countryside great for long walks and a real antidote to London life.
House itself has been knocked through into the barn, so there's a big space for evening entertaining, and the owner has provided a library of films with a video projector and screen, which was enjoyable after sunset. Quirky bathroom means you can gaze out at the fields while you bathe.
Local village about 10 mins drive to get provisions. Will be coming back.
Love our time here relaxing every summer- swimming in the lake at Champagnat and feasting on the local beef and cheese- Blue D’Avergne, Chevre, and Cantal are all great. The house is so convenient and clean, and the views are amazing. Can’t wait for our next trip!
We spent a wonderful week in this charming house in France. The house has large grounds and is surrounded by wonderful landscapes. It was late September and the days were quite sunny, so we took a lot of long, tranquil walks in the area, and even managed a somewhat challenging (small) mountain climb! On warm days we ate lunch in the outside patio area and during cold nights lit up the fireplaces inside the house and felt very cosy and snug. The house is charming inside and everything worked fine. All in all, loved the place and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
An array of beautiful and clean lakes with sandy beaches, excellent for swimming and sunbathing, from 3 km away. Nearest town Auzances with supermarkets, bars and restaurants is 5 mins away.
Nearby medieval villages with regular farmer's markets and antiques brocantes, patisserie goodies, Croq, Evaux Les Bains (thermal baths), Aubusson (famous for its tapestries) and many others which we leave you the pleasure to discover.
Nearest city is Montlucon, 40 km away, with tons of shops, hypermarkets, water park, cinema, etc.
