This was a perfect get-a-way location for spending a little time with my daughter at IC. It is very private and comfortable, clean and cozy. To be able to walk out on the deck and curl up with a book and a cup of coffee or just relax and share stories with the lake view was so relaxing. Easy drive into town.

I think the only way to review this cottage is with a pluses and minuses list so:

At lake

Great view, great sunrises

Fully equipped kitchen

Nice porch

No TV reception, cable, internet

Isolated (mostly)

Near excellent ice cream shop- Creamery

Convenient to Wineries

Close to Taughannock Park

One tiny bedroom

Loft is really an attic with low sloped ceiling with two beds, one on floor

Loft is unsafe for small children - open central staircase

Loft is uncomfortable for people with back problems or tender heads

Insufficient furnishing for comfort

Sandwiched between two larger houses

No TV reception, cable, internet

Steep steps to lake pier

No "beach"

Far from amenities and Ithaca

Very warm & welcoming

First off, getting in touch with the owner was quite easy. He responded promptly to my request and answered any and all my questions right away. Upon arriving at the place, it was very accommodating. Being a gourmet chef whose passion is cooking, I was quite surprised and pleased to find the kitchen stocked with pots, pans, utensils etc. The place was stocked with your basic staples as well, paper towels, dish detergent, kitchen sponges etc. You never have to worry about running our of supplies or having to make a run to the store. Not to mention the boat house, fully supplied with kayaks, life vests and camping chairs to enjoy going for a kayak trip on the lake or just sitting on the dock enjoying the sunset with a glass or wine. I initially rented this one bedroom just for myself. However, last minute, a few friends surprisingly opened up their busy schedules to drive up and stay with me. I live in Floridq, so making it back here to spend time with my friends doesn't happen to often. Even with it being one bedroom, the main room downstairs and two double beds upstairs in the loft, it was plenty of room and quite cozy. I'm looking forward to my next trip back here :-).

If your looking for peace & quiet this is the place to stay. A very nice and clean cottage, an extra plus having a washer & dryer. Well stocked with everything you would need. Close to a lot of wineries & just a short drive to Senaca lake and their wineries. The scenery was beautiful and the lake was gorgeous, also did some kayaking which was provided. Had a great time!

Very nice cottage with all the extra bells and whistles - washer/dryer, dvd player, high end appliances, etc. Beautiful, secluded location with just a few neighbors. Gorgeous deck and dock with a great view of the lake. This is a highly recommended rental!

Fantastic trip

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect not only to get away from our daily lives but to discover a bit of the North. It is incredible well kept, the deck to the lake was a favorite spot for morning coffee. The cottage has been remodeled to include all the required conveniences.

Highly recommend this place, first for the location, then because the actual cottage and last because the owner will do anything to make you feel like this is YOUR second home.
