ATTRACTIONS:The Valley, a mixture of art, history and nature offers a glimpse of that Tuscany and Umbria which are only partly known and where there is no mass tourism, where peacefulness andenjoyment of life follow the rhythms of nature. It happens that the tourist who goes in search of Arezzo, Monterchi, Sansepolcro e Caprese Michelangelo will follow the same route as Piero della Francesca in the journeys he made for his work. The famous renaissance painter, who came from this area, is a rare case of a great artist who continued to live and work in the place where he was born. His major works are in Arezzo, Sansepolcro and Monterchi. Caprese Michelangelo is where the great artist Michelangelo was born. In this area there is also one of the most beautiful mediaeval village of Italy, Anghiari , and not far from Arezzo there is Cortona , an incredible etruscan city with such an incredible view that reaches the Trasimeno lake.valtiberina : experience the warm evenings, abundant vineyards and olive groves, welcoming people, medieval hill-towns and gastronomic delights.
In 1995 we bought this old cottage and its original name was “Il Corso” (The Path), because it was a site that everybody used as a path including the ancient Romans. We have begun to renovate the house trying to maintain as much as possible its original structure, that probably dates back to 15th century, and on our wedding day, July 1997, we came to live in this house...so big for only two people! This cottage is surrounded by nature that is its predominant element and feeling part of it is very gratifying. Later we decided to rent part of it, not only because it was truly too big, but also because we wanted other people to enjoy so much beauty...the chestnut trees, the deer in the early morning along the path, the sunset of the evening that lights up the contours of the surrounding valleys, the panoramic swimming pool that is accessed through a walkway adorned by lavender in bloom, a variety of multicoloured butterflies, the smell of the mosses, the intense yellow colour of the brooms and the lively red colours of the rosa canina (commonly known as dog rose).
In this setting of peace and tranquillity, it is possible to find a perfect harmony between nature and oneself and even easier for those that wish to share with us the experience of the sahaj meditation, in other words spontaneous meditation. Other people before us have lived in this place and we wonder if they were aware of how fortunate they were to live in such a wonderful place as we are, a magic place that satisfies all senses.
Cosetta Scipioni purchased this farmhouse in 1995
For us , Villa il Corso it's a special place. You get up in the morning , you seat outside in the garden for your breakfast while you hear only birds. Or you take a walk on the wild paths surrounded by wild flowers , so marvellous.
You are far from the city noise , away from your problems, from your bad thoughts. Just enjoy nature and remind yourself you are connected with such beautiful green world.
It is a perfect place to spend holidays with family or large group of friends. It has three separate apartments that are all well furnished and equipped with necessary kitchen equipment so we could enjoy our time there and have family dinners under a lovely tree - with wonderful view over the valley. And the pool... it's great so you can relax there and enjoy sun, swimming - dream of every vacation.
Last, but not least - the owners, who are a great couple, very helpful and friendly, communicative and open.
The place you want to come back to!
Struttura di elevata qualità, funzionale, immersa in un ambiente silenzioso e tranquillo. I proprietari abitano nel complesso e sono disponibili ad aiutare e consigliare, se richiesto. Il soggiorno è stato piacevole e rilassante.
Everything was perfect. No light-, sound-, and air pollution. Beautiful sights. Every time of the day, also at night the sunset or stars are beautiful. Location and pool in itself is perfect. We have seen almost all of Italy and must say that of course we also love the Amalfi coast. But these views top all of them. Furthermore i would like to say that some people hesitate to go to places where the owners life on the property. I can only say don't in this case not only are the owners very welcoming but also very discrete. And if you need anything? Just around the corner. Not only after a storm thrown out the electricity but also for a lot of tips about where to go and where to eat. In one word: "Magnificent"
This has been the second time here in the Villa, the first time was in May with my husband , we rent only a part of the house, and we lovely the place so much that we decided to come back with all the family. The house is confortable and the pool is in such a wonderful place with lavand and wild flowers. The family enjoyed specially the different places of the garden where each one of us could stay in privicy ,,painting ...playing... reading.... The hosts , very gentle and polite are there if you need them giving you all help you might need but also your privicy as if they would not live there. We want to come back !!
Beautiful villa to stay in for vacation. Our stay was super comfortable and it had everything we needed. The villa is situated in the hills between Tuscany and Umbria and all the great attractions of the region are within an hour’s drive. The views from the villa are breathtaking. It has a very nice swimming pool with lavender walkway upto pool. The villa itself is a very peaceful place.
The hosts are very welcoming and took excellent care of us. If you are interested in meditation, the hosts also provide free classes on Sahaja Yoga Meditation, a very unique meditation technique.
Il Corso is a marvellous place to stay. The apartments are comfortable and have everything you need. Cosetta and Fabrizio could not be more welcoming or helpful. The swimming pool is beautiful. And the location is just fantastic - so quiet and secluded that you feel you are retreating from the world and yet have all of its comforts and are less than twenty minutes from a supermarket and half an hour to an hour from some of Italy's greatest attractions. So an ideal base for touring / art / history/ medieval hill-top tows - but also the starting point for some of the best walking in Italy (Monte Favalto, Monte Santa Maria Tiberina etc).
