Lovely stay in a beautiful place!
Stunning surroundings and a beautiful house. Just returned from 2 weeks of relaxation exploring the surrounding area. Su and Ian couldn't do enough for us and our boys loved running around and playing with the chicken! Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting complete peace away from it all!
It was lovely to meet you all and glad you had a lovely relaxing stay. Hope to see you again in the near future.
A delightful property, very rural, great hosts.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay, our hosts were a very friendly and helpful.
The surrounding area has many places of interest, pleasant towns and villages to explore.
We hope to return some time.
Great guests! It was lovely to meet you all and hope to meet again in the near future
Can't wait to go back!
We stayed at the cottage for 2 weeks in the summer and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was really comfortable, clean and had everything we needed and more. The larger bedroom with the king size bed was beautiful with all the exposed beams and the view from the window was amazing.
We even spotted deer grazing in the field nearby and loved the herons that were regular visitors while we were there. There was plenty to see and do during our stay. We visited the water park in Laval and the kids really enjoyed splashing around and playing in the pool. We also visited the refuge de l’arch which is a zoo for rescued animals in Chateau Gontier and is well worth a visit. All in all we had a really good holiday and will definitely be booking again in the future.
Thank you Dianne and Jon. Really pleased you enjoyed your stay. It was lovely to meet you all and look forward to seeing you again later in the year.
We had a wonderful long weekend
The house was super, the owners are very friendly and also very discreet! We spent a lovely weekend and we will come back with pleasure. Also lovely places to visit with kids around: lakes, zoo, rivers, nice villages and castels.
Thank you for your hospitality!
Corina, Alexandre and co.
It was a pleasure having this lovely family to stay. They kept the cottage clean and tidy and we look forward to having them stay with us again in the future.

Set in private property with panoramic views and in a quiet rural setting on the outskirts of the village of Montourtier in the Mayenne region of the Pays de La Loire. The little village of Montourtier is just a few minutes drive away and has a quaint little 12th century village church. Montourtier was also once home to 'The Largest Omelette Pan in the World' when it was made in 1994 and still remains in the village. Just a five minute drive away in the opposite direction is the 'Chateau de Bourgon' which is a great attraction for holidaymakers staying in the region. About 10 minutes drive away is 'La Fenderie' which is a Park and Lake with a man-made beach set in 19 hectares. There is lots of space for children to play and the beach has a life guard present for swimming during July and August. Fishing is also available and you are able to buy a card to enable you to fish. There is also a bar/restaurant. Another of many lakes with man-made beaches not far away is the Gue de Selle with large lake, beach, childrens play area, pedalo's and bar/café. The little village of Montourtier is situated near the town of Montsurs which is part of the Mayenne region of the Pays de la Loire. The town of Montsurs is approximately 10 to 15 minutes drive away and has two supermarkets, cafes, bars, pharmacy, post office, newsagents, hairdressers, doctors and banks to name but a few. There is also a lovely riverside walk where you can go for a leisurely stroll along the riverbank, crossing over the little bridge where you can take a look at various farmyard animals on the way back. Mayenne is a small town on the Mayenne river in the north of the Mayenne department.and is about halfway between Le Mans and Rennes and approximately 20 minutes drive from Montourtier. This is the only town in France which has the same name as the river and the department. The town is known for its castle and riverside walks and has two distinct parts. To the west of the Mayenne river, the Notre-Dame area is named after the impressive Basilica, and to the east of the river the Saint-Martin area is named after the church. The Castle is Mayenne's main must-visit attraction. The museum which opened in 2008 is an excellent modern style attraction which fits perfectly within the medieval castle. Mayenne tourist office is set on the St-Martin bank of the river. A leisurely stroll along the river on a sunny day is not to be missed. The towpath starts from here, and goes all the way to Laval and beyond. All along the towpath are the old lock-keepers cottages, some of which have been turned into little shops. Jublains is a small village about 20 minutes drive away and is best known as the site of an important ancient settlement and many parts can still be seen. The site was occupied by the ancient romans after they had conquered the region and the remains of several important buildings including the Roman Theatre can still be seen. A visit to the Museum is not to be missed. The Aquabulle pool in Laval is another great attraction and is about a 30 minute drive away and has water slides, fun pool, larger outdoor pool etc. A visit to the Le Refuge de L'Arche which is about a 1 hour 15 minutes drive away is also not to be missed. It is set In a 40-acre park, and now houses about 1.500 animals of 150 different species. The animals are housed in spacious enclosures: aviaries, covered shelters, enclosures overlooked by viewing terraces where you can photograph or film such animals as lions, tigers, bears, wolves, monkeys, leopards. There are many places to visit in the area and these are just a small selection. Our property is well located near many attractive towns including, Jublains, Lassay les Chateaux, Domfront, Bagnoles de L'Orne, Chateau Gontier, Le Mans, Mont Saint Michel and many more.
