Whiteface Mountain House Rental Photos and Description

4 bedrooms + loft; 2.5 baths; sleeps 12

Four-Season Adirondack Vacation Cottage — Built in 2005, the Cottage is a luxurious four-season home, privately nestled on 13 wooded acres...and still so close to all the Adirondacks have to offer!

The Cottage is well-maintained, clean, comfortable, bright, and spacious, in a rustic setting, with modern conveniences, including radiant heating throughout. A full-house back-up generator, installed in 2014, means no more worries about power outages due to storms and downed trees!

The Cottage features 4 generously-sized bedrooms, a loft, 2.5 baths, an open living area with a fieldstone fireplace, a large log-trimmed wrap-around deck, 3-season enclosed porch with a wood-burning stove, and ceiling fans throughout. Amenities include WiFi, on-site laundry, satellite HDTV with DVD players, luxurious master suite, and so much more!

The Cottage sleeps 10-12: one king-size bed, six twin-size beds, one full-size sofa bed, and one full-size futon.

PLEASE CONTACT OWNER FOR AVAILABILITY AND OFF PEAK PRICING.

The Cottage is a peaceful and serene getaway, yet provides convenient access to a wide variety of activities. Nestled in the woods, the Cottage offers the opportunity to really get away from it all - without leaving behind the luxuries of home.

WINTER AT THE COTTAGE: In the Winter, alpine skiing and snowboarding are just 6 miles away at Whiteface Mountain - home of the 1980 Winter Olympics. Or you may choose to snowshoe or cross country ski. There's also bobsled rides, ice skating on the Olympic Oval, snowmobiling, dog sled rides, and the toboggan chute on Mirror Lake. If you have little ones with you, they may enjoy a visit to Santa's Workshop - just 5 minutes away. Or you may prefer staying inside, and enjoying some quiet time by the fireplace. The Cottage comes equipped with plenty of books and games for all ages, as well as a selection of DVDs.

SPRING and SUMMER AT THE COTTAGE: The AuSable River — just minutes from the Cottage — is well-known for its fly-fishing in the Springtime! Spring also marks the opening of many nearby world-class golf courses. And when Summer comes, there's kayaking, canoeing, rafting, water-skiing, swimming, biking, skating, horseback riding, hiking, rock-climbing, free outdoor concerts at the beach, and the list goes on....The Jay Covered Bridge and the Jay Rapids are a 5 minute drive, while Lake Placid and Mirror Lake are just 16 miles from the Cottage. Hiking trailheads can be found as close as a quarter mile from the Cottage. Take a ferry ride across Lake Champlain over to Vermont for the day, or drive 90 minutes north to visit Montreal. So much to do! And at the end of the day, return to the Cottage for a BBQ, and some relaxing bug-free hours on the screen porch.

AUTUMN AT THE COTTAGE: The Adirondacks come alive in Autumn, as the leaves turn from green to bright hues of yellow, red, and fiery orange! This is the perfect time for outdoor activities in the High Peaks. The air is cool and crisp, and the views are breathtaking. Whether you prefer to hike, bike, canoe, kayak, golf, shop, or sight see, Autumn is a great time to visit the Adirondacks. And when the day of activities is done, return home to luxurious accommodations at the Cottage. Take a hot shower, put on a fire, and relax!

What makes this house unique

The best features of the Cottage are:

THE ENCLOSED PORCH: In the winter the porch is glass-enclosed, and the woodstove warms it up nicely. It's the closest thing to being outside - minus the cold! In the warmer weather, it's a screen porch that gives you the feeling of being outdoors - minus the bugs!

MASTER SUITE: Spacious and comfortable with a king size log bed, skylights, custom-built shower, and jaccuzzi-style tub.

FULL-HOUSE BACK-UP GENERATOR: No more worries about storms and downed trees causing power outages that could last for hours (and sometimes days!). The generator will kick on within seconds of the house losing power.

Beautiful Cottage, Awesome location

  • 5 of 5

I wrote a hefty review in the guestbook, so, how to top that....this place was absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. I stayed here for a long weekend with my parents and brothers. Our original plans were to hike a 46'er, find some cool places to swim and fish, shop and relax. This location provided all of these things for us. We were only 25 mins away from the mountain we wanted to conquer (Gothics Mountain), there is a great little beach on the AuSable River just a few mins drive away where we also fished, we went swimming and cliff diving in the Flume which is another few minutes away (that was SO beautiful) and we went to Lake Placid (about 30 mins away) for some light shopping and a nice dinner out. This cottage is very central to all the beauty the High Peaks region has to offer. We truly wished we could have stayed longer. The cottage itself is something magical. Tucked away in the woods, you get the sense that you are truly right in the center of the beautiful nature that the Adirondacks surrounds you in. The screened-in room was probably my favorite. It stormed one night and we just sat in there playing guitars, listening to the storm and enjoying the cool breeze without getting rained on. The other nights, we got to sit outside on the huge porch and watch the meteor showers in a sky lit with the brightest stars. Stephanie is incredibly kind and thoughtful. She provided us with recommendations to all the types of things we were interested in checking out. I want to go back! We hope to make this a yearly tradition now. We made an awesome family memory here, we truly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks again, Stephanie.

Perfect for Ironman weekend

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a week at this cottage in Wilimington and loved it! Clean, spacious and perfect for both a small family or a large group (we ranged from 4 to 12 people over the weekend). Great access to Plattsburgh, Lake Placid, Ausable Forks, Whiteface Mt and for Ironman spectators- you're just a quick 5 minute drive to the Ironman bike course in Wilmington and 10 min. to the Ausable Forks out-and-back portion of the bike. I really appreciate all the small touches at the cottage- tons of clean towels, sheets and blankets, books and dvd's for all ages, kitchen and bathroom essentials are well stocked and the private setting of the cottage made this ideal for our stay. Thanks so much, we'll be back again soon.
