The owner and the manager together have traveled to over 60 countries and speak French and Spanish. International travelers are always welcome.
The Castro subway station is one block away; linking you to the entire City, and BART for east bay and airport connections.
I've traveled to more than 40 countries and I think San Francisco is one of the best cities on earth and the Castro neighborhood is THE BEST of San Francisco, It's a hip, super clean and safe, vibrant and diverse neighborhod - really the quintessential San Francisco spot. The weather is great; nice and sunny even when most the City is fogged in and cold.
The only thing better than living here, is getting to share it with others. I love making sure my guests have an amazing stay and have total privacy as well.
I worked at the Ritz Carlton for years and the experience stuck with me. I've made the flats a luxury home away from home, with everything as perfect as possible.
I'm sure you'll love it here at Casa Luna SF.
Wyatt purchased this cottage in 2001
It's the best neighborhood in the City. Great weather, central location, quintessential San Francisco experience. Super safe, hip and fun.
We're just up the block from a major subway stop and the center of the City. You can stay here and have total quiet, but then just walk out the door and you're in a thriving neighborhood! tons of interesting folks, great restaurants and pubs, awesome shopping at one of a kind stores, fun bars and clubs, the best coffee shop in SF (Peet's) and so much more. Oh yea, you can get anywhere in the city with one $2 subway ride.
We really enjoyed our stay at your vacationrental. It was even much better then we thought before we arrived :) Ithad everything you needed and more than that. Very nice furnitured, comfortablebeds, very clean and tidy.
For 4 persons, 2 adults and 2 kids (17years) it was a perfect apartment. The location was also perfect. Just2 minutes walk to the station and a lot of shops, restaurants, market storewithin walking area.
It was also very relaxing to come backto the apartment after long days with sightseeing etc. The location wasquiet, not much traffic/noise and the apartment was perfect for makingdinner and relax at the evening with TV or reading. You had the feelingthat you stayed at home.
All the information that was provided(market store, where to shop, locations, restaurants, tips etc) was perfect. It really helped us/saving time.
We will highly recommend your vacationrental.
The flat is absolutely gorgeous with much attention to detail and fully equipped with everything you need. We loved the location, great neighborhood and convenient public transportation. The service was outstanding. We plan to stay at Casa Luna SF each time we visit San Francisco.
Casa Luna was gorgeous and exactly as pictured on this website and their video on the Casa Luna website. We stayed in the Garden Apt., which is the first floor of the house (#4060.) It was beautiful -- hardwood floors, comfy beds, (they even iron the sheets!) lovely little garden, gorgeous kitchen with every amenity you could think of...for those of you who cook, lol. (Loved the Audrey Hepburn photo in the kitchen!) A MUNI station is just steps away, and we found the staff there to be quite helpful as to which lines to take to get around.
It was the personal touches that stayed with me: Wyatt kept in close touch in the weeks leading up to our stay, sending us several articles and links regarding things to do in San Fran. Most helpful was the neighborhood map which included points of interest. There were also plenty of guidebooks available in the apartment. (Other little extras we used were the full-size bottles of Lavender shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and lotion that are provided, as well as the hairdryer and ibuprofen we found tucked away.) If in need, there is a grocery and a pharmacy nearby. And I enjoyed my morning tea daily from the variety of Stash teas provided.
At one point, we had problems with late-night noise coming from neighbors elsewhere on the property (the Carriage House, below us, it turned out.) I called Wyatt and he promptly answered (at 12:30AM!) and took care of it himself -- problem solved in 10 minutes. Wyatt really goes out of his way to make sure your trip is the best. Thank you to all at Casa Luna!
Did not touch the car for three days - public transport right on the doorstep. The apartment was just as described, with everything you could need for a very comfortable stay. Felt so at home. Loved the little touch of fresh fruit and cheese as a welcome. We were concerned on arrival about the renovations taking place next door, but the builders were considerate of guests, so not a problem. Local information from the owners was extremely useful. Great communication, and very easy to book.
One request would be for some storage/drawers in second bedroom.
Would highly recommend, and can't wait to come back!
I did not get the opportunity to stay at this location but I did have reservations here and had to cancel. Debbie was very understanding and my refund was sent the same day.
When I first booked Casa Luna I was sent all the information regarding how to get there via any transportation I was going to take. I got step by step instructions on how to get into the property, and they even have a You Tube video and you can see the place. I was sent a detailed map of SF attractions and how to get to each one, and instructions on how to get to places to eat, workout, and grocery stories via public transportation. I was even given insider tips on how to avoid long waits at tourist sites as well. The property did look very nice from everything I saw and read, but I am here to say that dealing with Debbie and Casa Luna was just so much a pleasure that I had to write a review about it. She has set a very high standard for the rest of the owners that list on VRBO to reach. When I return to SF it will be to stay at Casa Luna.
The apartment is exactly as described and the photos are entirely accurate. The property looks to have been recently renovated; everything is clean and functional, and the apartment is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. The living room is full of daylight, and the bedrooms are peaceful and quiet with comfortable beds and quality linens. The garden is a tranquil oasis, landscaped to perfection and extremely peaceful considering the property is half a block from Market Street.
This property is the perfect accommodation in the perfect location for anyone visiting San Francisco. It is literally steps to the MUNI and other public transportation, convenient to many excellent restaurants, grocers and shops, and convenient to get to the busy tourist areas. The neighborhood is easy to get around without having to deal with the steep hills found in surrounding neighborhoods, and the secured parking garage is a convenient and safe place to leave your car. Staying in this beautiful vintage house at Casa Luna gave us the opportunity to really experience San Francisco as locals.
Debbie and Wyatt were very pleasant to deal with, real sweethearts. They went out of their way to ensure that our stay in San Francisco was enjoyable and stress-free. Their attention to detail is impeccable and they truly care about their guests. We and our travel companions will absolutely stay at Casa Luna on our future trips to San Francisco. The only negative thing about our stay was that we had to leave.
We chose Casa Luna because it was close to public transit and looked like a lovely unit for 2 couples! It worked for both! Public transit was perfect: 1) Muni Metro was about 50 steps from our door -- fast, easy routes to downtown, cable car, the water, Bart, and other bus connections; 2) F trolley runs directly between Castro district, the ferry terminal, Embarcadero, and Fisherman's Wharf. Keep a map handy and avoid transports around the rush transit hours.
Casa Luna is a lovely combination of housing units that make you feel at home. Our discussions with Irma, the property manager, were helpful and extremely pleasant!
There were a few issues that we encountered beginning with the booking, but it is difficult to find a rental that is perfect. My husband and I are responsible renters and generally accepting of flaws when a place essentially serves our needs. And, Casa Luna does that! I highly recommend it for those who are mobile. This is not a place that would work for people with disabilities.
I mark this property down because of the booking/financial complications but, because all were resolved -- albeit with some difficulty -- I wanted to post a positive review.
