About Maureen Zavala
Being Arizona natives has given my husband, Adrian and I an opportunity to experience so much of what this beautiful state has to offer. We love it here! The diversity between the desert lowlands, the northern pines, the beauty of Sedona, and the breathtaking awe of the Grand Canyon are what make Arizona unique. We love hiking, photography, ethno-botony, sunshine and snow, all of which are abundant here.
Maureen Zavala purchased this Cabin in 2006
Why Maureen Zavala chose Kachina Village
We wanted that special place you bring your family to make memories. Not just a place to hang your hat, but a place to hang your dreams, experiences, and create special moments that linger a lifetime. We love the coziness of this place. The intimate settings in the backyard, the quite, the peacefulness of the gardens, as well as the heaviness of the snow laden trees in winter. The closeness of the seasonal stream and the easy access to the trails without leaving the neighborhood, along with the cabin "feel" of it all have made this the perfect setting.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love the country feel. Being close enough to town to enjoy the community, yet being tucked away into the forest setting make this cabin truly unique. You can spend hours hiking Pump House trail, just steps from the cabin, where you are totally immersed in the beautiful forest. Flagstaff is just 6 miles north if you want to head into town for dinner, or grill on the deck and never leave the cabin. The view from the table is so lovely; snow laden trees in winter, flowers in spring and summer months.

Our family favorite!
We absolutely love this cabin! We have gone 3 years in a row and it’s so perfect. We have two young girls who have a blast! Little updgrades are done every time and it doesn’t go unnoticed. We can tell the owners just love this sweet place & we thank them for sharing it with us! There’s nothing better than a cup of coffee on the patio. Thanks again for continuing to provide our family with amazing memories!
Thank you for choosing Flagstaff Cozy Cabin for your Northern Arizona get-way! You're right, we love this cozy place and are happy to share. Summer's are especially nice with the cool mountain breeze, while relaxing under the pines.
Very nice cabin
We stayed here for 3 days and enjoyed the perfectly clean cabin in the pines. They had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. I only wish the outdoor grill was gas because no charcoal could be purchased secondary to the bans in place. The full hummingbird feeder was definitely a plus, as they whizzed over our heads all day! If you are looking for seclusion, this is not it, as there are many houses surrounding this property. Fortunately, even with many neighbors, the area is quiet and peaceful.
Yes, this is humming bird season, and they are out in full force, along with the blue jays, hawks and many other birds and wildlife. Due to the extreme fire danger this year, no fires, grilling, and in some areas even smoking outdoors, is currently not allowed. Hopefully the ban will lift soon with coming rains. For the record, our rental policy that each guest signs does state: "This cabin is located within a subdivision. Although it is very private, it is not a remote or highly secluded area." The website video has 2 shots of the street, catching the homes across the creek, and a 2nd shot down the street to show the proximity of houses. There is also on home directly next door. Since the lot is close to 1 acre, it's still a comfortable distance. Please see the video if you're concerned.
Me and my husband, kids loved the cabin! All the decorations were lovely. It was a very, very cozy feelings! We played the games, watched old movies, used the grill! Thank you so much for everything!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for choosing Flagstaff Cozy Cabin for your vacation rental.
Cute, cozy and easy
There is a general store, gas station and park with playground in the neighborhood. The cabins rustic decor adds to the fun.
Great Cozy Cabin: lives up to its title!
This was such a fun place to stay. There were only two of us, but the cabin has two rooms and two baths so easily accommodates four. It was clean, quaint, and would definitely be cozy in winter months. They have an extensive library of DVDs, videos, and books + games to play; and the kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, etc. My husband's dream would be to retire in a similar property. Lots of fun touches that really make this feel like a cabin, and it's easy driving distance to Flagstaff + about an hour and a half from the Grand Canyon, which was our destination while staying there. Host was very responsive and provided all of the info we needed for our stay. Great experience; we would definitely stay there again!
Truly a home away from home!
This amazing gem of a cabin was quiet, comfortable and truly felt like a home away from home! This cabin came equipped with everything we needed to have a wonderful holiday weekend. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Thank you for choosing Flagstaff Cozy Cabin for your weekend get-away! We're glad you enjoyed your stay. It's our goal to create a wonderful space where friends and families can gather for a memory making vacation. Hope to see you here again in the future!
Spectacular hike just minutes from the front door winds thorough meadows and forest along a stream that is a tributary of Oak Creek. Historic downtown Flagstaff features Route 66 with Native American galleries, shopping, antiquing, dinning, live music, theater, bookstores, and nearby Northern Arizona University. You may want to visit the Grand Canyon, Williams and the Grand Canyon Railway, explore Anasazi ruins. Oak Creek Canyon and Slide Rock (bring extra shorts) and Red Rocks of Sedona are all just a short (and breathtakingly scenic) drive away. We’ve supplied a trail guide book if you’re a hiking enthusiast. Visit the Museum of Northern Arizona, or just read, nap and enjoy. Other Activities: Short Drive to The Snowbowl- north. Lake Mary, East. 20 minutes to Sedona. Day trip to Grand Canyon.
We have a minimum stay of 2 nights, and a maximum stay of 2 weeks. We do not rent long term; monthly or for the complete summer.
