Comfy down pillows and comforters welcome you. Unwind beside the crackling wood burning stove. Our kitchen is fully equipped, and the antique table will seat 6. This cabin sits at the end of a cul-de-sac tucked into the pines with a seasonal stream running across the back of the property. The grounds are a gorgeous 1/2 acre with 30+ pine trees. About Maureen Zavala

Being Arizona natives has given my husband, Adrian and I an opportunity to experience so much of what this beautiful state has to offer. We love it here! The diversity between the desert lowlands, the northern pines, the beauty of Sedona, and the breathtaking awe of the Grand Canyon are what make Arizona unique. We love hiking, photography, ethno-botony, sunshine and snow, all of which are abundant here.

Maureen Zavala purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Maureen Zavala chose Arizona

We wanted that special place you bring your family to make memories. Not just a place to hang your hat, but a place to hang your dreams, experiences, and create special moments that linger a lifetime. We love the coziness of this place. The intimate settings in the backyard, the quite, the peacefulness of the gardens, as well as the heaviness of the snow laden trees in winter. The closeness of the seasonal stream and the easy access to the trails without leaving the neighborhood, along with the cabin "feel" of it all have made this the perfect setting.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a comfortable and quiet getaway. Highlights include: the wood burning stove, extremely comfortable furniture (especially the beds - we slept like logs!), and it had everything we wanted and needed including dishes, utensils, appliances, towels, extra blankets and pillows, cable, wifi, games, movies, etc. We were able to cook and serve a great Thanksgiving dinner without bringing anything but the groceries. The owners were consistently prompt, kind and professional, and the cabin was spotless upon our arrival. We will not hesitate to book this cabin again in the future.

Children are always welcome at the Cozy Cabin! This is a great environment to introduce children to hiking, skiing, and all outdoor sports. Spring time offers a wonderful garden atmosphere for both young and old. Please keep in mind, in winter months ice may be present on decks, steps and porches. The driveway is steep and may be a challenge to elderly in winter months. However, we've had visitors vacation with elderly parents express they found the Chalet quite refreshing and enjoyable.

Fabulous vacation

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in many mountain cabins and have to honestly say, this cabin was the most impressive. It was secluded and private. It is only a few miles from attractions such as Northern Arizona Museum, Arboretum, Lowel Observatory, and Snow Bowl. We visited Antique shops in downtown Flagstaff. We also drove to the Grand Canyon which is only an hour and a half drive. The property is beautiful, clean, fully stocked, and very well maintained. The cabin is just as it is described in the owner's description, and even better. This cabin has a great deal to offer. We will definitely visit again.

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay! and were able to take advantage of the local attractions. It's a wonderful "base camp" for traveler's wanting to see northern Arizona. Another attraction you may consider is the Aboritum just outside of Flagstaff and about 15 minutes from the cabin. They have wild bird shows along with the beautiful gardens and exhibits.

Cabin was nice and clean. Enjoyed our stay very much. Was nice to get away from Phoenix valley heat for the weekend. Easy access and not far from sights.

Relaxing Weekend with Friends

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely relaxing weekend with friends at this quaint Flagstaff cabin. It was extremely "cozy" as the advertisement states, well stocked with DVDs, and all the necessities in the kitchen and plenty of towels for the bathroom. The beds were comfortable. Lots of porch space with tables to enjoy the peaceful doors and beautiful temps. We walked to a delightful trail for an enjoyable hike. A quick drive to dinner and drinks in town. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and hated to drive down the hill to the Phoenix heat. Thanks much.

Spectacular hike just minutes from the front door winds thorough meadows and forest along a stream that is a tributary of Oak Creek. Historic downtown Flagstaff features Route 66 with Native American galleries, shopping, antiquing, dinning, live music, theater, bookstores, and nearby Northern Arizona University. You may want to visit the Grand Canyon, Williams and the Grand Canyon Railway, explore Anasazi ruins. Oak Creek Canyon and Slide Rock (bring extra shorts) and Red Rocks of Sedona are all just a short (and breathtakingly scenic) drive away. We’ve supplied a trail guide book if you’re a hiking enthusiast. Visit the Museum of Northern Arizona, or just read, nap and enjoy.

Other Activities: Short Drive to The Snowbowl- north. Lake Mary, East. 20 minutes to Sedona. Day trip to Grand Canyon.
