Fun and casual 'California contemporary' cabin with big private deck and screened porch overlooking the woods and meadow. Located in Palisades Park, a charming summer community just outside South Haven with a half mile of private beach. Lake Michigan is just a short walk down a quiet path. Community has soda bar, tennis courts and organized kids activities. House was refreshed in 2007 with a totally new bathroom (tub/shower combination) and a full-size washer/dryer. There is also an outdoor shower with hot water for rinsing off after the beach. Most of the furnishings and appliances are new and provide a relaxed and beachy vacation vibe. It's the perfect place to kick back and enjoy time off with friends and family. Pet friendly - bring them along for a true family vacation. Golf cart available for use for a small additional charge.
Very nice cabin in the woods. Nicely decorated and comfortable. Semiprivate beach was not inviting as it was right by the river, that flowed through a marsh, so the water was a nasty brown and the sand was like quick sand due to the current. Back porch of cabin overlooks the marsh and wild life can sometimes be seen running through it. If you want a cabin in the woods, rent it. If you are wanting a beach, try some where else.
My husband and I were looking for a nice quick quite getway where we could bring our dog. This cabin and area met all of our expectations. The cabin was one of the best furnished, cleanest, modern rentals that I've stayed in. We visited this area right at the start of the season so i'm not sure about the activity during the summer months. What we found was a low key, relaxing environment walking on the beach and hiking in the woods. I highly recommend staying here.
Part of Palisades, a 101 year old complex featuring clay and hard-tru tennis courts (free), professionally supervised play for children 5 years to 12 years (free), hamburger / malt shop, nature hikes through wooded dunes, 'Sugar Bowl' sand dunes, fishing in Brandy Wine Creek, baseball diamond, children's playground equipment, etc. South Haven is 6 miles north, with numerous events during the summer. Nearby activities include: hiking, biking the Kal-Haven Trail, golf courses, tennis, amusement parks and petting zoo and charter boats for salmon fishing. Saugutuck is about 25 minutes north.
