Beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house located in the exclusive 'K Section' of Playa Guiones; secluded on 2/3 of an acre backing up to a quiet jungle hillside. With a large wraparound porch, rocking chairs, hammock, and lovely pool, its lush, indigenous landscaping gives you the
ultimate in luxury and privacy. It’s only a 4-minute walk to the famous Playa Guiones beach for surfing, swimming, shell collecting, and snorkeling. And just a 5-minute walk to the Nosara Yoga Institute. And there’s something for everyone to do. It’s a short drive to Ostional, world-renowned for the endangered Ridley turtle nesting sites. Don't miss the bat caves in nearby Playa Pelada or tennis on the new clay courts in town or horseback riding on the beach! Also, please ask about our 4-minute video of the house! Thanks for visiting our site.
Our neighboring coati who comes by daily to have a refreshing drink of water and watch us watching him. There are hummingbirds and mot-mots living in our tree canopy as well as blue morpho butterflies (bring your binoculars!)...we love sitting on our porch and seeing the myriad creatures who inhabit our property.
Our family had a wonderful trip to Nosara and loved Casa La Playa. It's a great house - a few minutes walk to the beach. The house is well-appointed and the lush landscaping and jungle surrounding are full of howler monkeys, coatis, armadillos, iguanas and birds. We'll definitely be back. Thanks
This is our families' third trip to CR and second time staying at Casa la Playa. We love it. My husband is a surfer and it's close to the beach. Actually it's close to everything, groceries, restaurants, internet cafe', surf shops, car rentals. The entire yard is a garden paradise. We sat on the front porch every morning drinking fantastic Costa Rican coffee, bird watching. The wild life is incredible. We always felt safe because a security company was always coming by checking on things. We enjoyed the pool daily. It was a great way to cool off after a day at the beach. We have traveled all over : Hawaii, New Zealand, Bahamas, Tobago. This place is affordable, beautiful, comfortable and we can't wait to return..
This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica and by far the most unique experience we have had in this wonderful country.
The casa was exactly as described on the website - the house itself, the pool, the beach, and the seclusion. At times it felt like we were in a wildlife sanctuary with birds, monkeys, iguanas, a raccoon, and piscoatis always present.
The casa was well-furnished with beautiful murals and a wrap around porch where you could just sit back and relax and enjoy the peace and solitude. We ate most of our meals here - using both the inside appliances and the grill.
The walk to the beach was a very easy 5 minutes. Venturing into Guiones was a pretty long walk and I would advise some form of transportation especially if you are re-stocking supplies.
Mario, the owner, was extremely helpful in providing us information before our stay. Likewise, the staff at the property management office were also very friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay.
The beach is definitely a surfer's paradise. While we no longer surf, we thoroughly enjoyed the natural pools created by rock formations by the shore. It was like being in a oversized hot tube all to yourself. And before I forget, the most beautiful sunsets you will see anywhere.
When we did venture into town, we went to the Farmer's Market, which was on Tuesdays. The freshest fruit, herbs, etc. Also, we bought some Ahi Tuna caught that morning, went back that night and grilled it and had a fabulous meal. We did eat out at Rosie's serving local Tico lunches, The Guilded Iguana for breakfast, and the Beach Dog Café for breakfast. Every meal we had was very good.
Finally, the pool was awesome - refreshing and where we spent many afternoons.
All in all this was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. From the casa to the setting to the people, I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to escape for awhile and enjoy the peace and solitude of a true paradise.
This was our second stay at Casa la Playa and boy are we glad we did. The second time around (and with four other rental homes in between) we realized that this has to be the perfect home in Nosara.
Let's start with the house itself. The great room is truly that - great, roomy and perfect for lounging and entertaining. A well-equipped kitchen and lots of counter space make it easy to eat meals at home. The two bedrooms are well-chilled with fans and A/C units and comfy bedding and accommodated our family of four with room to spare. We loved the new murals by the pool and in the master bedroom. Very cool.
The pool is perfect post-beach. And, to be surrounded by those gardens - are you kidding me? Amazing. We love that the property sits at the back of the lot so it's the ultimate in privacy. Wrap-around porches have ample seating for reading and lounging.
What's more, all this just minutes to the beach and the main drag by car but still walkable if you'd like. Also within walking distance is the Nosara Yoga Institute, which offers public classes. We definitely took advantage of a few classes.
The wi-fi is a great enhancement - and worked perfectly the whole trip. With a VPN, we were able to access Netflix and watched movies each night. Our kids loved Facetiming with their friends to show them the home, garden and lizards!
Clearly, we're Casa la Playa fans! It truly is a great find. Enjoy!
We rented another house in Nosara originally, but there was construction all around it, so the wonderful agency - Nosara Travel - that handles this house offered us Casa La Playa instead (they helped us tremendously planning our trip - first time in CR). The moment we stepped into the garden our vacation became heaven! It's a simple house (in the best way), very well laid out, clean and comfortable. Enough place to hang out, very comfy beds, washer & dryer - all you need. Not that you will see much of it because Nosara, or rather Playa Guiones, is so beautiful, and there is so much to explore. The close by beaches are amazing. We had a car, which I recommend, since everything is close, but not close enough if you have a 7 yr old in tow.
During our first trip to Costa Rica in March, we stayed at Casa la Playa to be near the beach, and we weren’t disappointed. The beach is less than a five-minute walk away, and the quaint little surfing town of Playa Guiones is only a few minutes more. Every evening we headed to the beach with drinks in hand to watch surfers catching their last waves of the day during some really spectacular sunsets.
Casa la Playa was a delight, a small villa on a gentle hill and surrounded by lush landscaping. The shady, cool veranda blends into the swimming pool area. You can lounge in a hammock or catch some sun by the sparkling blue pool. The rooms inside the house are open and airy, and the decoration is authentic Tico (earthy Costa Rican colors and materials).
The first two nights we turned off the air conditioning and enjoyed some cool ocean breezes. The mornings were filled with the sounds of tropical birds and howler monkeys and sunlight lazily filters through the windows.
We were also impressed with the level of security the owners provided. A friendly security service checked the property twice a day. The property has motion detectors that turn on yard lights if needed, and the house even comes with a safe. BTW – everywhere we went “the locals” were very hospitable.
Another plus is the house was high speed Internet, so we could touch base with friends and keep up with world events whenever we wanted
We definitely recommend Casa la Playa to anyone who wants enjoy the incredible natural beauty of Costa Rica without leaving too much of the civilized world behind.
My family stayed here after a week in the rainforests inland. What a great place to unwind. The beach, which is a few minutes walk away, is fantastic, warm, and with a sandy bottom. A great place to learn to surf or to just play in the warm water. We rented boogie boards from the friendly folks at Nosara Tico Surf School and played in the surf every morning and afternoon.
The house was as advertised: comfortable, quiet and well appointed. We enjoyed hanging out on the porch in the hammock or lounge chairs, and taking dips in the pool. The grounds are very lush, and it's like hanging out in a forest. We could hear howler monkeys and a coati ambled up the side of the property.
We walked to nearby restaurants and small shops, enjoying a typical lunch at Rosie's Tica or ice cream and sandwiches at Robin's. The Harmony Hotel was excellent for lunch and dinner. Casa Tucan was friendly and the food was good and reasonably priced, and Cafe de Paris has very good breakfast pastries. Unfortunately, we can not recommend the Harbor Reef.
The Nosara Yoga Institute is also a short walk away and offers classes in a beautiful setting.
Finally, the management company staff were very courteous when we checked in and out.
We left wanting to return as soon as possible.
Located a 4-minute walk from the world famous Playa Guiones beach (Baker Beach entrance) and the Nosara Yoga Institute
