Located on the Yellowstone River and border of Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, Montana, this single family home holds breathtaking views of the Yellowstone River and surrounding areas. Very few homes have the luxury of being located on the border of the park and river. Perched above the Yellowstone River, this recently renovated home offers the perfect vantage point for spotting buffalo, elk, deer, and antelope within the park’s boundary right across the river. Enjoy morning coffee and fantastic evening sunsets on the deck while the magnificent Yellowstone River rushes below your feet.
The house’s proximity to the North Entrance of the Park makes it the perfect base for day trips into Yellowstone. Conveniently visit landmarks such as, Mammoth Hot Springs, Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Yellowstone Lake and the famous Beartooth highway. If you want to explore the town of Gardiner, the house is within walking distance of numerous restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, and authentic local stores. Fishing trips, rafting, kayaking and horseback rides are available in Gardiner, as well.
The fenced property is situated on nearly an acre of land with ample off-street parking.

We bought the house in Gardiner to put us in the Gardiner School District so we can send our daughter to school there. We live 30 miles north of Gardiner in the middle of the Paradise Valley on a 10,000 acre cattle ranch that has been in the family since 1866.
Last year we completely renovated the house and started renting it as a vacation rental in the summer.
Belinda Story purchased this house in 2003
Some of the favorite things about the property that people enjoy the most, is being able to walk to shops and restaurants in Gardiner. Yet when at the house, it feels 'like you are in the middle of nowhere' with the Yellowstone River rushing by the deck. Also watching animals come out into the meadow across the river in the evening was another favorite.
Being so close to Yellowstone Park (literally on the border) it makes the perfect base for your day adventures into the Park.
This is the first five star rating I have ever provided to any property or establishment of any kind. Gardiner is a very small town whose claim to fame is its proximity to the northern entrance to Yellowstone. Did not see anything there that would come close to matching the privacy, beauty and full complement of amenities offered at Buffalo Bluff. The fifth star is earned by the attentiveness of the owner, Belinda. She clearly does not want to be intrusive, but does want to be certain that the expectations of her guests are met or exceeded. Terrific!
We were so happy with our stay in Gardiner. Belinda was a lovely host. She provided useful information, answered all of our questions, and was incredibly welcoming, kind, and thoughtful. The house was beautiful, and very, very spacious. It was neat as a pin and immaculate. We prepared lunches each morning for our full days in Yellowstone and cooked all of our suppers, and the kitchen provided everything we needed. The house was also very bright, which is important to us. It was just a few minutes walk from a local grocery store, and minutes from the North entrance to Yellowstone. It is also very close to the Boiling River and Mammoth Hot Springs. We spent 5 nights in West Yellowstone, and 4 nights in Gardiner, and thoroughly enjoyed out visit to Yellowstone. It is a breathtaking, magical place, and we would definitely return to Belinda's home.
I'm always nervous about booking accommodation as one never really knows beforehand quite what one will find on arrival.... However, any fears were totally unnecessary in the case of Buffalo Bluff.
This house has been perfect for our family..... Four adults and two children -aged 5 and 7 months.
The outside matched the photos we'd seen but the inside was much better than we'd expected and I don't think the photos do it justice.
The location was extremely convenient - not only for access to the park but also for the local supermarket and restaurants. The outside deck, right over the river, was a delight.
We had plenty of space and were impressed with how well equipped the house was. The beds, bed linens, towels etc were high quality as were all the appliances.
The house was also well maintained and spotlessly clean.
All in all, it made us feel really comfortable and 'at home'. We loved it!
The Internet was rather slow and perhaps a few hooks on the backs doors would have been useful .... But I don't want to sound critical in any way, as overall we were thrilled with our accommodation.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.
This house was perfectly located right on the river and on the Main Street of town. We were 5 minutes away from everything in town and from the entrance of the Park. The house itself is a great place to stay as well, with a large deck to sit on while enjoying the sounds of the river. We are a family of 4 and had plenty of room and, although we went out for most meals, the house and kitchen is fully stocked. There was a grill on the deck with the starter disengaged, and my husband called Belinda to see if there was an issue starting it. The next day she had brought a brand new grill to set up on the patio!! Wow, talk about a great, responsive, owner. Keep in mind, the old grill still worked, it was just more difficult. Belinda was also very responsive with any questions I had prior to showing up, and she made the entire transaction very easy,
We just returned from our vacation and enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and very well kept and Belinda was kind enough to have some basic necessities on hand. The location is perfect for visiting the north end of the Yellowstone, luckily we were more into the wildlife than geysers. Old Faithful was a 7 hour round trip that included other stops along the way. Lamar Valley was about a 45 minute drive one way. I do have a couple of suggestions for Belinda, the house needs at least a window unit in the bedrooms. Although mountain nights are cool, daytime temps are warm enough to heat the house and it takes a while to cool it off in the evening. The other suggestion would be to upgrade the router, the wifi was painfully slow and we ended up using data and exceeded our plan limits for the month because the wifi was so slow. Belinda was very nice to deal with and I would recommend her property to anyone looking to explore Yellowstone. If you go, don't miss the boiling river and take a long a pair of old tennis shoes to forge the river to the hot spot, the rocks are brutal on bare feet.
Belinda's house was fabulous! Very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The house was right on the Yellowstone River and the beautiful double deck overlooked the river. We spent quiet private evenings on the deck after busy days at the parks. Belinda was accessible at all times if we had any questions. I would definitely rent again! It was so nice to come home and get away from all the crowds. Highly recommend!!!
