**Deja Blue can be rented as either a 2-bedroom or a 1-bedroom. Contact us to ask about your options!**
Pull open the curtains on both sides of this 2-bedroom, 2-bath corner South Coast condo, and uncover a dreamlike Caribbean panorama. From this 270-degree vantage point at Deja Blue, you’ll feel like you’re captaining the prow of a giant ship.
And here on Barbados’ south coast, in St. Lawrence Gap, the Atlantic merges with the Caribbean, creating unique, white-capped turquoise waves. Few places in the world are quite like this—and at Deja Blue, you get a front-row seat for all the natural drama.
Even better, you’ll be smack in the center of St. Lawrence Gap’s man-made perks as well—ranging from delicious local restaurants to authentic shops. All within walking distance of your condo! No rental car required. Simply take a $20 taxi (with tip) from the airport to your condo, then walk everywhere or catch the free shuttle for the rest of your trip.
FEELS LIKE HOME – BECAUSE IT IS!
Deja Blue is kept to an incredibly high standard—spotless and brimming with meaningful décor and original art. “Even the windows sparkle,” said one of Deja Blue’s happy guests (check out our 100% 5-star reviews below!).
While you’re here, we highly recommend staying in for at least one seaside meal on Deja Blue’s oceanfront balcony. Get some fresh mahi mahi from the nearby grocer, prepare it in the gourmet kitchen (we have all the cooking utensils you could need), uncork a bottle of wine, and let the rolling waves provide a romantic soundtrack. Perfection!
If you’re not up for cooking, check out the vendors who roll up at about 6 o’clock every evening and fill the air with the mouth-watering scent of Barbadian street food. The macaroni pie is to die for! Or try the Friday night fish fry at Oistins—an institution for locals and tourists alike.
We love sharing this gem of St. Lawrence Gap with our guests. And we hear it all the time: nothing beats sinking into the top-of-the-line king-sized bed in the master bedroom. A heavenly cross-breeze, and the sound of the rolling ocean, floating through the open windows on warm nights will lull you into a beyond-deep sleep.
“WHEN I GET TO HEAVEN, I HOPE IT LOOKS LIKE THIS!”
The quote above is from another happy guest. And we think you’ll find your heaven here, too! We pride ourselves on doing whatever we can to make your stay over-the-top amazing.
If Deja Blue is unavailable on the dates you’d like to visit Barbados, please let me know and I can introduce you to some equally stunning oceanfront properties in St. Lawrence Gap.

Jane Shattuck & Greg Hoyos, owners
Greetings from beautiful Barbados! I am an American lucky enough to have met and fallen in love with a wonderful man from Barbados. Actually, I fell in love not just with the man but with his beautiful island home.
Jane Shattuck 246-230-8594 purchased this condo in 2008
Two reasons: 1) Location in the St Lawrence Gap on the south coast, amidst fabulous sugar-white beaches and fantastic restaurants and 2) Caribbean Sea views that are guaranteed to knock your socks off. They still do mine, after years of living here.
I needed to escape the bitter cold of Washington last month and decided to visit Barbados where I have friends. Got lucky with a last minute booking as there had been a cancellation. It was perfect in every detail. This apt is decorated so beautifully, and is right on the beach. Large rooms (2 bedrooms and 2 baths) with kitchen, living room, dining area, and balcony. Free wireless too.
The neighborhood is lively with restaurants and music close by. The condos also have a pool, and there is a washer/dryer in the apt. I can't say enough great things, actually. I only wish I could have stayed longer. And my favorite restaurant, Josef's, is just a few steps away.
The owner obviously cares about the property as everything is first-class. She also has thought of every detail so you won't need to. It was a delightful experience all around. Highly recommend.
First of all dealing with the owner of the condo was absolute pleasure. Her responses were very prompt and detailed. The welcome package that she send out before our trip was so informative and made everything super easy. There was a printed copy in the condo as well. The condo was in a perfect location with restaurants and fantastic beaches all around. The transportation from that point was super easy and super cheap. The condo was set up very well. It was very clean and well furnished. The view from the door/leaving room and from the main bedroom took our breath away. The patio was overlooking the ocean and a perfect spot for morning meals or afternoon drink and snack. A small convenience/grocery store was just steps away from the condo.
The driver that was recommended by the owner in her welcome to Barbados package was fantastic. Our stay was magical. The building was very secure with the day and night security personal. Every one that is connected to the condo (whether a night security guy, cleaning crew or the condo manager) were super friendly, and very helpful. This was our first time experience with renting a condo instead staying in the resort, and we are converts. If every experience with home away is like this one, yes, no more resorts for us. I highly recommend this condo. We had a fantastic time.
We have stayed in this comfortable and well cared for condo for about 5 years, staying 7 weeks each time! the listing was very accurate for both the condo, the property and the easy availability of restaurants, transportation, grocery stores, first class beaches and many activities!
We consider Deja Blue to be our second home and are cared for in a warm and friendly manner by the owners and all the staff on the property! Our needs are met in every way and we love having a complete kitchen, cable television, balcony right on the stunning Caribbean and the well maintained pool and property.
We have recommended this condo to many of our friends and relatives and know they will not be disappointed!
Clean, friendly, well maintained and a great value. We plan to return every year for many years to come!
Whenever I go to Barbados (which is often!) I always always always stay here. It is a dream! The St. Lawrence Beach condos are in the best location on the island, right where the Caribbean water meets the Atlantic character, and the aqua-blue ocean comes to life! The amenities are always state-of-the-art here-- Jane never lets anything go out of date, or anything to be less than perfect. When I'm here, I feel like everything is taken care of, I'm carefree, safe, happy and home. :)
This is a great condo in St. Lawrence Gap. It's at one end of the gap so not as much in the middle of all the late night partying. It's a nice place, great overall facilities. Here are the Pros & Cons:
- Amazing view of the ocean, right on the water, you can hear the waves night and day.
- Nicely appointed condo with just about everything you need for your stay
- Nice pool area (but see con comment below)
- Amazing ability to open up almost two complete walls of your bedroom floor to ceiling for ocean view and breezes (but see con comment below)
- Wonderful little pier that you can walk out on to get a great view of the coast, sun, etc.
- Little beach, really only available at low tide, but when the tide is out it affords nice access to the ocean if you desire
- Great location at one end of The Gap, in walking distance to tons of good restaurants, bars, and larger beach. No need for a car or taxi if you don't want to
- At high tide, there is no beach and the waves can literally crash over the wall and onto parts of the pool deck, making it unavailable (unless you like to sun and get splashed from time to time). We are not big beach people so made no difference to us and we did our research and it's very clear how small the beach is so don't complain if you are surprised when you get there.
- You will hear music and noise at night. Even with all windows closed and AC running, you will hear some noise from the bar across the street late into the night. It never really bothered us, might have heard the bass of the music come thru, but if you are a light sleeper or want total quiet, this may present a problem. Of course, if you like to be out late and party, you won't mind this at all ;-)
- As noted above, due to the noise, the reality is you can't ever open the windows in your bedroom at night because then you REALLY hear the music and related noise. Plus, the church next door has some bright lights on all night which means you can't really leave one of the windows open without having a very bright light shine in from that side.
- Although overall very well appointed, the condo only provides one set of towels per person. This has been brought up in other reviews and just really seems stingy and I have to say that I've never stayed at any other VRBO where this was the case. We stayed 3 nights, took multiple showers per day (at beach, etc.) and had to continually wash towels - not what I want to do while on vacation
My husband and I stayed in Deja Blue at the St Lawrence beach condos from Oct31-Nov7. Thank you to Jane for making our arrival so easy!!
The condo was very clean, well appointed and perfectly situated on the St Lawrence Gap, close to a convenience store for supplies, and if you're mobile, a short 15 minute walk to a grocery store.
I would easily give this property 5 stars but for the fact that we had to walk to Dover or Sandy beach to have a true beach experience with chairs, umbrellas and water sports.
I'm a very social person, and it was a little bit quiet for my taste. I do appreciate it was off season and the island itself was more quiet than usual.
The condo is steps away from great dining and entertainment. Also, catching a cab, bus or "ZR" minivan to Bridgetown is super easy by virtue that we are at the top of the Gap and busy Hastings road is very close by.
The pool and small beach area are well maintained and an asset to the property.
Great for families and couples alike.. Especially if you like a quiet, cozy environment.
The south coast of this island paradise features some of Barbados' most beautiful white-pink beaches. We're located on St. Lawrence Beach and a short stroll away from Dover Beach. In addition to its perfect climate (around 78 in the winter and upper 80s in summer, but always with an island breeze), we boast a crystal clear aqua sea, refreshing (and safe) drinking water, and friendly locals. Swim with the turtles during the day and dance half the night. Or sail a catamaran, enjoy the famous Friday night fish fry at Oistins Beach, and shop at the eclectic Walker's. Relax in the sun or explore the island's surfing area (east coast), caves (north), or posh golf clubs (west). Rent a car to zip around this 14- by 21-mile paradise, but don't feel obligated, as swimming, snorkeling, surfing, eateries, shopping, strolls thru the lively St. Lawrence Gap are all right here outside your beautiful, well-appointed condo. Come find out why Barbados boasts the most repeat visitors in all the Caribbean.
Other Activities: cruising on catamaran, snorkeling with our giant sea turtles, hiking with the National Trust, visit Earthworks pottery makers, the Mount Gay Rum distillery, much more ...
