Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cornish Pearl in St Ives. The house was comfortable, very clean, nicely decorated and had everything we could possibly want. It was in walking distance to the beaches, shops and center of town. I will recommend this property to my friends who visit St Ives.

We have recently stayed at this very clean, well appointed property, we found it in a very convenient location, 2-3mins walk from the town centre, the owner left very clear instructions relating to your stay.

Parking please take the advice from the owner – use the one up the hill – I used Parking Mobile App. So you can select how long and how much you want to pay for without looking for change….

I would stay here again.

A wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Cornish Pearl is a warm, comfortable and clean home from home. The house is beautifully decorated with stunning views of St Ives especially from the top floor. The town and all the beaches are just a short stroll away. We chose to eat out during our stay but the kitchen appears well equipped for those wishing to cook meals. The owners David and Helen were very easy to communicate with especially as we were arriving in the aftermath of 'The Beast from the East". They made sure we arrived safe and sound in the snow. I highly recommend Cornish Pearl as the perfect home to stay in and explore West Cornwall.

Absolutely lovely place, well appointed for access to the town and harbour and the Painting School. Had everything we could need - well stocked in terms of tea bags, coffee, sugar etc and all the utensils, crockery, pots washing machine etc you could need. Heating was well timed and regulated too - the temperature was perfect. Nice soft bedding and towels as well.

A few things:-

- My sister said the front door was quite hard to lock or unlock from the inside (can't remember which).

- Could have done with better instructions re how to work the telly and DVD player.

- The fact that the TV is fixed means you can't angle it round very much

- Would have been nice to have some specific recommendations on restaurants in the folder

- Beds comfy but squeaky!

- We both thought that the front lounge needed a venetian blind as people look in and you don't want to draw the curtains during the day. I would also say the same for the front bedroom.

- the dishwasher door is catching on the board below and needs seeing to - but other than that it worked perfectly well

- we thought it would have been a nice gesture to have put half a pint of milk in the fridge so you can have an instant cuppa after a long journey - but just a suggestion!

All in all a lovely place and would definitely stay there again!

Thank you

AM Flynn

Owner's Response: Hi Am Many thanks for your lovely review and thanks for constructive feedback Apologies for no milk as there should have been! Will check with our housekeeper on that one. Blinds are being fitted this week as they should have been fitted first thing in the New Year, so should you wish to return then this will be sorted TV is a new one so will definitely have a look at that for you and the squeaky bed is hoping to be resolved also Glad the heating was perfect as in the winter months we like our guests to be warm and toasty and it can sometimes be a struggle working it just right ! Thanks again and hope you achieved some great results with your painting experience - David and Helen
