Sometimes you have to think outside the box. That’s exactly what I have done in setting up Funky Gites. These are no ordinary gites —they offer a “get away from it all experience” with a difference. My first gite is near Caylus in SW France;“Little Blue Moto”, because one of the focal points is exactly that, a little blue motorcycle. The gite is a mix of quirky industrial-style recyclables and quality furnishings that will make you smile whenever they catch your eye. I rescue things from hedgerows while out running. For example there’s an unusual bonnet from a tractor on the wall and a huge tyre from a combine harvester that has found a new lease of life as a trendy coffee table. Little Blue Moto is just for 2/4persons. It’s comfortably equipped with everything you need ,we can even offer a weekend special providing deoderant, toothpaste, etc. Just bring your passport and toothbrush! There’s a barbeque, firepit and an outdoor log-fired hot tub where you can relax under the stars while drinking a glass of bubbly. If you tire of the steam room, gym, sauna or swimming pool, there’s a grand piano for you to use; a glitterball in the bedroom might even tempt you to dance the night away. “It’s a fantasy place that’s full of fun,” . The one thing you won’t find is a TV, although wifi is available.
Locally there are numerous walking trails; you can go canoeing on the River Aveyron, cycling, rock climbing or pay a leisurely visit to nearby museums, art galleries or vineyards. Toulouse and Albi — World Heritage sites — are within easy reach. But you might prefer to take art or cake making classes, have a massage or simply relax and enjoy the scenery. Everything is possible
I moved to France over 12 years ago initially from Yorkshire and have worked here as a Pilates and fitness instructor. I have 2 lovely boys at school and a partner who is an Archaeologist working all over the world. I love it here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else - its pure heaven so come and see for yourself and enjoy the French way of life.

I love this property because is offers so much more than just a gite, its a wow. We hope the personal touches and the quirkiness will make you smile and return home feeling refreshed and happy. The area is outstanding, offering just about everything you could possibly want from rural france.
My favourite is the wood-fired hot tub. At night under the stars drinking a glass of local fizz and listening to the owls, a quick dip in the pool, shower and that big circular bed. Pure relaxation.
My husband I had such a wonderful weekend at ‘Le Little Blue Moto.’ The were lots of special touches and the attention to detail was amazing: everything we needed was there. We wanted to spend our 4th wedding anniversary somewhere a bit different and we weren’t disappointed. The gite and grounds have an amazing ambience and combined with the sauna, hot tub and laid back country vibe, we left on Sunday feeling as if we’d had a week away, rather than a weekend. Paradise……especially with all the lavender and butterflies.
