About the property

Small studio apartment in lovely village, close to the sea with two great gastro pubs within a 5-10 minute walk from Foxhole.

The village of Axmouth is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the East Devon/Dorset border. Close to beaches, market towns and the South-West Coast Path. Great central location to explore the surrounding area, with Lyme Regis to the east and Seaton, Beer and Branscombe to the west. The village has two excellent gastro pubs, only a short stroll from the apartment.

The studio is within a short distance of local attractions, including Lyme Bay Winery, Seaton Tramway, Seaton Jurassic, Beer Caves and River Cottage. Blackbury Honey Farm is a 15 minute drive away. There are regular weekly street markets at Axminster and Honiton. Cycle hire is available at nearby Colyton.

Foxhole is a recently refurbished, self-contained studio apartment with garden and countryside views, situated below the owners' house. Sleeps two people. This ground floor studio with en suite is accessed through a private gate. Through the gate and down some steps into a peaceful, enclosed garden, the studio has its own entrance door, which leads you into a cosy, comfortable and relaxing space. The accommodation comprises an open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge area, double bed and an en-suite shower room. There is no bath. The kitchen area has a small worktop oven with two hobs, kettle, toaster and under counter fridge with freezer compartment. There is a wall-mounted TV/DVD/radio on a multi-positional arm and a small selection of DVDs and books for your entertainment. Wi-fi, hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided, along with bed linen and towels (please bring your own beach towels). The total area of the accommodation, including the en suite, is just under 19 square metres. There is a small patio area directly outside the apartment with a table and two chairs, great for alfresco dining and BBQs. There is a washing line available for your use. Welcome pack provided (tea, coffee, milk, etc). Parking is on the road (small cul-de-sac) by the entrance to Foxhole.

This is a non-smoking property. Unsuitable for babies and chlldren, no wheelchair access. Unsuitable for people with limited mobility due to a considerable number of steps, some of them steep (please see photos). Also please note there is a step down from the bed area to the living area. Sorry no pets. We sometimes have a dog staying with us. The owners live upstairs.

Check-in is from 1400hrs and check out is by 1100hrs.

Comfortable, neat apartment, good walks and river nearby, + excellent pub/restaurant Harbour Inn.

We found the apartment comfortable and neat, there were good walks and the river nearby, plus the excellent pub/restaurant Harbour Inn. Other places - Seaton, Beer, Sidmouth, A La Ronde - were all in easy driving distance. And we enjoyed 3 good sessions at the Sidmouth Folk Week.

Very cute apartment

Very pleased with the location, and the apartment was exactly as described. The complimentary bottle of wine, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, juice and biscuits was well appreciated, thank you! The only downfall for me was when the owners were up, as they lived directly above, was your alarm call as you can pretty much hear everything. This is not a problem if you like early morning starts but a weekend away for me includes a lie in 😩, although owner was lovely and left us to it.

Exquisite apartment

What a stunning little studio apartment, really homely, very clean and tidy, location superb. Owners are so friendly and have plenty of advice to offer about local walks and amenities. This area is so beautiful. Definitely recommend especially as they offer any amount of days which is so useful. We must go back. Thanks Sue & Colin for a great time.

Beautifully kept and well equipped.

Good location close to SW Coastal path. Short walk to two pubs serving excellent food. Lovely to sit out on the patio and enjoy the tranquillity of the garden. The apartment itself was small, but this was obvious in the photographs and no surprise. Owners were very helpful.

We are close to Seaton Tramway, Seaton Jurassic, Blackbury Honey Farm is a 15 minute drive away. The Axe Estuary is within easy walking distance of the property. This is excellent for birdwatching or you can visit Seaton Marshes local nature reserve where there is a hide.
