Two Bedroomed Two Bathroom Totally Refurbished Semi Detached Fisherman's Cottage

Beautiful and sympathetically refurbished cottage. Small cosy lounge with feature cast iron fireplace, dining room with French doors leading to a pebbled courtyard. Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and fridge freezer, utility area with washer/dryer and downstairs bathroom. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers, a twin with two single beds fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers. Additionally there is a small upstairs shower room with power shower, WC and wash basin which is quite unique for a cottage of this type.

About Mrs Donna Manners

We purchased the cottage in 2010 when our daughter was studying at nearby Kent University in nearby Canterbury. In November last year we commenced a total refurbishment and now that it is finished we are so pleased with how things have turned out. We have lived in London all our lives but have always holidayed in Kent since children.

Why Mrs Donna Manners chose Kent

We love Whitstable and we are sure everyone does too who visits this quirky little seaside town just south of the busy City of Canterbury. The cottage is situated just off the Canterbury Road at the start of the busy High Street. there are no parking restrictions so on street parking is fine. There is no need to drive as Whitstable Railway Station is situated five minutes walk away with the High Speed Rail Link into London St. Pancras is just over an hour or Victoria in an hour and fifteen. Buses also run frequently to Canterbury and a new service along the coast to Broadstairs and Margate.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is situated within five minutes walk of all the pubs and restaurants that Whitstable has to offer. The High Street also offers several small supermarkets, three butchers, two greengrocers and two bakers. Along with several good fish and chip shops, an evening in the pebbled courtyard with a take away and a glass of wine is a must! There are also several antique shops, art galleries and charity shops along with a locally produced cheese shop, cupcake shop and for those of you that remember, an 'Offy'...an off licence! Inside the property we have furnished it to provide you with a luxurious stay. There is a small quaint front sitting room with TV, a spacious dining/family room with TV/DVD, sofa and dining table. The fitted kitchen has a new electric oven with gas hob and integrated dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is a washer/dryer in the utility room and a beautiful large half tiled bathroom. upstairs the twin room sports a nautical seaside theme whilst the double room is tranquil in shades of cream overlooking the courtyard and garden. The upstairs shower room is small but adequate and luxurious.

Super cottage

We stayed for 4 nights during a very cold spell, but the cottage was so warm, clean and cosy that we hardly noticed the weather at all. It's been stylishly renovated and all to a high standard. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Great cottage in perfect location

We had a wonderful weekend at Iris cottage. The cottage was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Our son loved the little garden. It was in a perfect location for the town and the beach and was exactly what we needed for a weekend get away.

The accommodation was perfect - well appointed and equipped with good quality items. Clearly newly renovated, it was a most pleasurable base.

A folder of useful local information would have been welcome but that is a minor point.

The best cottage in Whitstable

We had a wonderful stay in Iris cottage! Highly recommend to all! Communication prior and after are stay was excellent. The cottege was immaculately clean and there was plenty of parking just outside. The cottage is a short stroll to the beach where the kids went crab fishing. There are lovely nearby cafes, shops and restaurants. Also the Jo Malone diffusers in the cottage made it smell amazing!

Wonderful cottage for a stay in Whitstable

We spent 2 nights in Iris Cottage and it was everything we hoped for and more. It was beautifully decorated and had everything you could need.

It was in a great location and very central for all the places you'd want to go.

We loved the harbour and Samphire restaurant. Eat 17 is a really good supermarket / deli too. Good range of independent shops which is lovely to see.

The only small 'challenge' was parking but this wasn't really a drama. I suspect the wonderful weekend weather attracted everyone.

All in all a most wonderful weekend in a wonderful town. I would certainly recommend Iris Cottage and would love to stay again.

Iris Cottage is situated in the heart of Whitstable's Conservation area. Within minutes you can be either shopping in the High Street with it's array of independent shops and restaurants, not forgetting what Whitstable is famous for, it's Oysters!, or playing golf at the nearby golf course or sailing or relaxing on the quirky beach.
