Enjoy the cove, it really is a sanctuary. : We have positioned Blueberry Cove to be a place that you will want to come to and just relax, unwind and forget about the rest of the world. The clean simple atmosphere, and natural surroundings at our home ( rather than electronics) will easily allow you to relax, or concentrate on a project, and appreciate nature and the beauty and solitude of being on the water. Our setting on the pond is particularly quiet and rarely will you see neighbors or even watercraft.
I cannot say enough good things about Blueberry Cove. Everything was great, from the initial conversation and booking process with Paul and Annie to the pristine condition of the house and many helpful instructions upon arrival! We spent many hours enjoying the beautiful backyard and waterfront dock, canoeing and kayaking, and grilling out. We also used this as our home base for exploring Acadia and the surrounding area and found that it is a perfect location to avoid the crowds and high prices of the Bar Harbor area. This was far more serene and enjoyable, and we are already dreaming of a return trip!
This was our fourth vacation trip to Maine and Blueberry Cove is by far the the best place we've stayed. This lovely home with beautiful scenery and privacy made our week perfect!
The home was very clean, the beds comfortable and the owners, Paul and Annie were great to work with. They provided us with lots of information about the area and nearby places to visit. The lovely home was well appointed with everything that we needed readily available. The location was ideal for us. We enjoyed several day trips and found this beautiful, private spot to be close to many fun towns, villages and Acadia.
Toddy Pond is a destination in and of itself with gorgeous, tranquil scenery, a variety of beautiful birds to watch, fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking on the crystal clear lake, and a well maintained road through the woods for quiet walks or bike riding. We loved mornings on the deck or by the private waterfront taking in the tranquillity of the area. Evenings by the water with an occasional fire in the fire pit were another of our favorite activities. We hope to visit Blueberry Cove again!
Not only are the owners wonderful but this property and the views are too! Our family stayed here for the week and only left one day to see Acadia National Park. We just wanted to enjoy al the time we could on this property. We fished, swam, kayaked and played board games as a family. The house itself was very comfortable for the 5 of us and kept very clean. If you are looking for some time in nature and relaxation this is your place! I sure hope to have the opportunity to visit again.
Fabulous location, very tranquil and not too far from Acadia National Park which was our destination for the week. It is less than an hour drive from the parks many entrances. We are active seniors (two couples) so the canoe available at the property was an added bonus. Toddy Pond is lovely. The biking in Acadia National Park was another highlight of our trip; so much to see and do and not enough time.
For older couples, a queen bed instead of the day bed in the guest bedroom would have been the better choice. Climbing in and out of the upper berth of the day bed was not ideal. Our suggestion would be to relocate the day bed to the front office/den (for children) and upgrading to a queen size bed in the guest bedroom. This would definitely be a plus at this rental property for couples traveling together. Having said that, the owners, Paul & Annie were delightful and pointed us in the right direction upon our arrival. Their home is clean and well maintained with beautiful grounds.
We loved the small communities surrounding Surry and enjoyed the fresh seafood dining, wild Maine blueberries, all of the delightful art and pottery galleries and the incredible beauty this area offered. Our time flew by, we loved every minute of our vacation and we felt grateful for the opportunity to have stayed at this property for the week. It restores the soul.

My wife and I and another couple thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blueberry cove. We enjoyed meeting our gracious hosts, Annie and Paul, and learning all about the area. It was a pleasure to come "home" in the evenings after a busy day of partaking in all Maine has to offer, and enjoy the sunset over Toddy pond. We enjoyed our mornings on the deck with the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks.
This place is wonderful. We star-gazed on the private dock at night, and canoed on lovely Toddy Pond in the daytime. The house is comfortable, clean and secluded in a spot that feels like you own the entire end of the lake. The backyard deck is perfect for morning coffee, and the cozy, private waterfront is excellent for eating, relaxing and playing. Fantastic spot for kids. Paul and Annie are very sweet, attentive and accommodating hosts. It was a perfect escape from the big city. We loved it so much, we extended for a few extra days. It's down a private road which is nice, and still close enough for a day trip to everything wonderful nearby from Acadia to Pemaquid. Blueberry cove is not only a perfect name, it's a perfect little escape.
Blueberry Cove is located in a quiet area on 9 mile long Toddy Pond. It is centrally located between Bucksport, with the beautiful Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observation Tower, Fort Knox State Park, and Ellsworth which offers outlet shopping at LL Bean, dining at our favorite Cleonice Mediterranean Bistro, or other fine restaurants, Try exploring the gateway to Acadia National Park, with opportunities for scenic flights or glider rides, and the Schoodic Peninsula, the quiet side of Acadia, or travel south to Blue Hill, Deer Isle, Stonington, and the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine. Explore antique shops, art galleries, live theatre productions, concerts at famed Kneisel Hall School of Music, hiking trails, beaches, kayaking, canoeing, boating, swimming, picnics, by the water and sunsets over the bay.
