The dolphins play in the waves right in the surf outside your windows!! Beach is sandy, no rocks, no undertow and safe for the kids.
have lived in the Punta Banda area for 22 years.
Was born in Germany to Ukranian parents, and brought up in Buffalo NY my travels took me to live far a while in Miami where I got a dream jb of working on a cruise ship. The Caribbean Islands were just amazing and this job was the highlight of my life. After meeting a couple from Oklahoma on the ship, I decided to give Oklahoma a try. Met my first husband and had a son. Met my second husband and he was the one who convinced me to come to Ensenada area. So I left OK after 20 years and moved to Baja. I just love the area, the community, the views and the peace. I found a nice niche here. I own a property management company, a rental and real estate business and am the Artistic Director of our community theatre The Gertrude Pearlman Theatre which has given me the opportunity to act in over 25 plays and direct 16! It's a good life!!!
Irka Davis purchased this villa in 2007
I was at the house contacted by owner to sell. My sister was visiting and went with me. When I left with a listing agreement, she convinced me this was the house i had on my vision board at home. A U shaped design where you can see water thru the house to the other side. It sure was. So i completed my dream. The family who i bought from were the Storey Family. So I call this my Storeybook Hacienda. I t was a storybook on how I got to own this wonderful property.
Beauty: Everyone who walks thru the front doors just sighs. 4 huge windows, floor to ceiling plus a glass in alcove just takes you right to the waters edge and the ocean and skyline beyond. So sit down and enjoy all that tranquility.
Our trip to Punta Banda was beyond amazing! This home provides the comfort and feel of a 5 star resort! Of course without having to share any of the beach with all the tourists!! We had the beach practically to ourselves! The sunrise & sunsets here are spectacular! Also, so much to do nearby, the Bufadora and restaurants were great. We look forward to more great memories in your home Irka! Thank you, for opening your doors and sharing this piece of paradise with us!
Our group of 9 spent a great 4 nights at this house. Irka was very helpful and we were able to find the house without issue.
The house is as pictured, and was very clean and well maintained. The views of the water and sunset are simply stunning, we kept pinching ourselves.
The hot tub was great as was the fireplace (and ample provided firewood) and comfy couches.
There are convenience stores 5 mins from the house and a large grocery store 20 mins away.
Be sure to read the booklet provided with details on the house, there is lots of useful information within it!
We stayed here in February for my 30th bday and I'm so happy we did! It's a bit south of Ensenada and driving from San Diego it took about 3.5 hours. The pictures don't do this place justice! It's large, clean, 2 fireplaces, 3bd, 3 bath, and a gorgeous view of the ocean through big clean windows. The beach is wide with plenty of sand, no rocks, small waves. Great for just kicking back and enjoying the scenery.
The 8 of us were more than comfortable and the owner, Irka, was very accommodating. She lives across the way and came over and introduced herself and her very friendly dog and cat casually roam around.
Honestly, you can't beat this place especially for the price!
A few tips:
Don't push the buttons in the hot tub
Don't flush TP
Pick up a few cases of bottled water
This was a great mini vacation. From the beginning the owner was very prompt in emailing me back and communicating well with all the questions that I had. The house was clean and very well put together. It had everything you needed (including a high chair which we didn't have with us, yay). The view was breathataking and every night we all sat on the couches and just took it all in. Having beach access was phenomenal as well, we could go whenever we wanted and were still close to 'home'. We went in June (during the Baja 500), the weather was perfect. Nights were a little chilly but nothing a bonfire can't fix. There were 2 families that stayed there and it felt just like home. We were very comfortable there and will definetely be renting this house again in the future. Thanks again. :)
I have to say, this is a very dreamy home. The pictures are exactly how this home looks like. First off - we had great communication with the owner and everything was explained perfectly. We arrived in the afternoon and got a great view of the beach and was able to see a gorgeous sunset. The house was clean and very organized. Everything worked well and we had no problems finding anything we needed. An instruction folder was left for us to go over and it was easy to understand and follow. The rooms were clean and well kept, as well as, the restrooms. We had no problems with working the TV, kitchen appliances, or connecting to the WiFi. My family and I really enjoyed staying here and can't wait to do it again. I would definitely, and have already, recommended this home as a great place to relax, have fun and enjoy the view. We laid out on the beach, BBQ'd, went for a stroll, visited the town, and enjoyed an afternoon at La Bufadora. Everything was convenient and we felt safe that there was security on the premises. My family and I would like to thank Irka for welcoming us to her home. Thank you for stopping by to meet us - we had a great chat! :-)

House is big and the view is beautiful. You are right on the beach. The living room, dining room, tv area are all in one big, long room. 2 fireplaces on each side. Master bedroom is nice. Has a great shower/tub area with beautiful tile work and you can shower and look out to the ocean. It also has a sliding glass door that would be nice to open and listen to the waves but the door has no screen on it and the flies are everywhere. I felt like there was a fly infestation. The 2nd bedroom is nice with it's own small bathroom. The 3rd bedroom is on the other side of the house. It is between the kitchen and this storage room where they keep all their supplies, the washer/drawer and the hot water heater that goes on and off ALL night. If you sleep in the 3rd room which has 2 sets of bunkbeds (the room is very small like 10x10) plan on hearing the hot water heater all night. The Jacuzzi pump is also in that storage room and it is SO loud. The day we arrived the Jacuzzi was not working. The owner called a pool guy who arrived later the next day and fixed it. When we arrived there were towels hanging from the clothes line that she left up to dry, the hose was thrown across the whole yard, there were no hand towels in the bathrooms to at least dry our hands. We had to search the cabinets for towels. The screens on the doors get stuck and are hard to open and close. The BBQ was so disgusting that I was scared to use it. I do not think it has ever been cleaned. The rack was so filthy from left over food. I tried to find a brush to clean it before I put my meat on it but no luck. The whole thing was nasty. Under amenities it says the house has beach chairs, it does, we found them thrown on the ground outside the master bedroom. They are really old and torn. It also says the house has a boogie board. It is not really a boogie board it is more like a piece of old plywood shaped like a boogie board. I definitely feel like the owner just does the minimum to get this house rented. I have rented more than 10 homes off of the homeaway website and this is the only house that I have written a bad review about. No instructions on how to use the smart tv (never got it to work) The beach is very nice not very busy or rocky. Like I said, the view from the dinning room/living room is beautiful. Floor to ceiling windows that were very clean. The front yard, where the Jacuzzi and patio table are has a nice firepit.
Located in Punta Banda, this is on the beautiful six mile beach. The water is shallow for long distances; just perfect for the kids. Watch the dolphins swim by in the waves, get out the boogie boards, play Frisbee or volleyball on the beach. Rent a horse for a ride down the beach. The end of the estuary is a protected bird sanctuary; there are walking trails and signs to acquaint you to plants native to the area and birds that migrate through.
Close by are wonderful restaurants. La Marina restaurant is a great setting facing the estuary and mountains....Horseshoe pits sun-bathing chairs and palapas allow an enjoyable experience dining outside on the patio with a breathtaking view; and just a short walk from the restaurant to the beach. Live music weekends.
Not far away is a water park and zip lines!! Las Canadas has 5 lines and rope bridges and boasts the longest zip line in Mexico. 500 meters.
Ensenada is a cosmopolitan city with lots of nightlife, a free museum and culinary delights.
Other Activities: hot water springs, and the famous Blowhole LaBufadora
